I read most tank guides but none has unbowed, you should give it a try ... till they change it.

Not in description: Unbowed keeps you on your feet - recovering from knockdown and can't be knockdown a few seconds after Unbowed activated. My legionary:

I only use "Walking Fortress" a couple times during NM FC runs, so experience players should replace it with "To the Death", another attack skill or something.

correction: i use WF a lot in some groups. my old templar http://da-skills.net...100,010,D10,0,0

I wouldn't replace WF on the Lego, but Unbowed can be discarded on him. It's nice on the Bodyguard Templar though. To the Death is really good and is worth using on the Lego. I even changed my opinion on CS, after Jay let me spam Explosive Shot into huge clusters of enemies for a whole NM game.

I don't play legionnaire much. Same job can be done with the templar, and do more damage while you're at it. Unbowed is a must on NM, take that, a guard passive, and shield of the emperor, and not only do you not need barrier you don't even need HoK.

It has a Mind Blast like stagger effect but it is a runt of guard generator

Generally the people I see using it are turtles that can't damage, then they get overwhelmed and die

I don't have shield of the emperor though

I even changed my opinion on CS

kudos

poor guard generator? unbowed gives u full guard almost instantly most of the time. WF isnt a very good guard generator either though its immortality makes up for it. agree with OP, unbowed is a fantastic ability! Pairs pretty well with WF too and good for a balanced lego with shield bash and lunge and slash. Keeps u on ur feet with good guard and cc breaker

I can certainly vouch for the lego skills of the OP. They were probably the smoothest NM FC Pugs I've been in.

I use unbowed on my Templar build. In a good group it can keep gaurd up for long periods of time and its great for the knock back stunt on archers and swordsmen, followed by a stiff Shield Bash. Works great on multiple foes.

For nm templar I also see unbowed as a must currently with upgraded guard passive (moderately high promotions) to tank effectively - even with that you are a more vulnerable tank than lego . I have not really decided though what is the best 4th skill to take if you also run wombo combo. Blessed blades for instance does allow you to use the combo almost non stop but then you kind of suck against any of the problematic units which can't be stunned. Shield bash is good in that regard and the dragon but you may get swarmed and get too many arrows flying at you if you are in a pug and the dps of the other party members is not holding up. In wave 4 demons those ice mines through walls are really annoying + pride demon electro whips = facepalm without combat roll. Horn of valour and payback strike seem inferior to those options.

I run Wrath of Heaven combo on nightmare with Horn of Valor.

I dropped Shield Bash because it ate too much stamina and replaced it with a simple Shield Wall.

I have no tanking problems whatsoever and hit hard.

Maybe I've grown too powerful, idk.

What sorts of templar builds are people running on NM?

Do people stick with the old W+P combo or do they do something else?

I'd like to try something like Bodyguard/UB It just sucks that BMTW is so low in the other tree. I want to be NM ready as early as possible.

Shield wall > all on templar for NM. Block shield bearers then dispell, roll stab archers then dispell. Rinse and repeat.

I use my builds of course:

In particular, Castle Smasher. The only difference now is I use the first guard passive. Other players may use the second one too, but I can afford to go all offense.
