Ok so you can be banned for an exploit that is no one's fault but biowares? Pretty lame... I lost do much xp in fc recently due to countless host migrations. Lost xp from the old key drop problem and the rtc not dying. So why would I get banned for taking advantage of a doubt xp lobby? Not to mention we have cheaters like Dragon9565 or some numbers like that just sitting I'm public lobbys never joining just getting others xp. (Ps3). Also who knows with no new dlc for last generation consules the new ones might get new maps more xp New challenges more xp. I personally think is bs you don't make a game then not support it? I have never cheated the game but I don't think taking advantage of a bugged lobby should be punished. especially not until the real lobby leechers are banned. Like dragon I'm sure other systems have lobby leechers as well.

Virtuoso is OP as hell....... his skills are extremely powerful, maybe your not on the right difficulty, theres a lot of that these days.

ROFL you know I heard some one I know say same thing ( no names mentioned) but he said that it was payment for all the times he was booted from 5/5  or the party was booted in the middle of the game.... naturally I thought this was hilarious and saw his point with 2700 + hours played I would think I would have lost massive EXP but you know the bugs being addressed so that's that

I have never cheated the game but I don't think taking advantage of a bugged lobby should be punished. especially not until the real lobby leechers are banned. 

 

My opinion (that may be incorrect) on the subject:

 

Being an unwitting accessory to a bug is one thing. I highly doubt BioWare would really care if you experienced a bug that benefited you, as yes, that was BioWare's fault and you should not be penalized.

 

The key is intent.

 

If you intentionally seek to exploit a bug for gain, that is not BioWare's fault. You are seeking to replicate a bug for the sole purpose of exploiting the effects, and not just accidentally experiencing it. A person can justify it however they wish, they are still seeking to exploit a bug for personal gain, which is against BioWare's ToS.

I happen to enjoy playing this game quite a bit. I have met a lot of great people I play with on a regular basis that I look forward to chatting with each night. While I appreciate the time you took out of your day to post on the forum; I would have taken your post more serious if you would have avoided using profanity. I am moving on to other threads now.

Boy, this forum is like a broken record, lately.

 

No, you won't be banned for the bug happening. They have not said that people are going to be banned for the xp/gold bug. It would be easier to buy into the idea that you don't know this if there weren't 4 copies of Fiddzz' statement explaining it on the front page of the forum.

 

I can't quote from locked threads, so here it is manually copy/pasted:

As you can see, you're not going to be banned for the bug existing, or playing games in lobbies where it happens. If you choose to deliberately cause and then exploit the bug, then it is not "entirely BioWare's fault," it is yours for doing so after having the situation clearly explained to you.

kwicherbichen. worst case scenario you get your xp and gold points rolled back to their appropriate values. best case scenario, you keep quiet and they let you have it.

I feel like if Bioware was gonna ban people they'd have to at least post a warning on the game itself. There's too many people that don't go on the forums and probably don't even know they exist.

 

EA's (or any VG company's, for that matter) lawyers are smart enough to put the necessary clauses in the ToS that everybody has to click on to launch the software. On the one hand, everybody knows that no one reads the terms and conditions before clicking "I Agree." On the other, it isn't technically a legal excuse, since clicking on something without reading it is still agreeing to the terms.

 

People who don't go to the forums are likely to have very little understanding of what is happening. They're even less likely to demonstrate a pattern of exploiting a bug that they know nothing about. I'm not saying that it couldn't happen, but the odds of someone being banned in error are pretty close to negligible, and they have the option of appealing.

 

My expectation is that there will not be a ban wave for this bug. I obviously don't know, but it doesn't sound like reproducing it deliberately is common, unless you take the hyperbolic words of some of the angry leaderboarders falling all over each other with accusations of cheating (which, to me, are not evidence of anything except those particular people's tendency to get mad when their leaderboard position is threatened.)

It has made me laugh at this community tbh.  Twisting Fiddzz's words around and how much of a big deal this is haha.  If this was a competitive pvp game, ok I'm with you.  This is a co op game.  5 threads on the front page yesterday? lol. Drama queens.  For a forum where "e peen doesn't matter" and "leaderboards don't matter"....lol.
