All this talk about farming Hakkon weapons, are there actually playable public games on NM now?
Right? Haven't run into a pug that can handle NM. I guess it pays to have friends.

Well this always worked well
2 Reavers or more (complementary dps and panic)
2 Katari's or more (Complementary tank and knockdown)
Necro with an ele for virulence spam and complementary AoE
Arcane warrior with more arcanes (weakness spam)
Avvar with Necro for chilled defense + frozen + panic
Templar + arcanes (Wrath of heaven weakness spam + complementary strategies)
Does not work well
Avvar with Templar (Avvar steals Wrath of Heaven combo)
Multiple eles (unstackable burns)
Dispel + other chars with Dispel
The problem is that due to the fact most of the strong player base is still chasing their collection of the Legendary Hakkon's and that the failure rate with the PUGs is high, private will stay the way to until many more collections are completed.Right? I've actually run into several very high promote players in PUGs on PC so far. It's a lucky thing for me, too, since I seem to be behind the promote curve for the average NM player. I really need to learn to love warriors more so I can get some Con...

Actually I find having multiple ele is the most annoying thing when I'm playing ele myself. Simply because you get "fake" chaotic focus popping up that isn't yours and doesn't work. Just imagine you casting spells thinking your chaotic focus is on and then turned out to be just a fraud... Ele is useless without chaotic focus because that means long cd time.
Oh, another note, when there is 2 eles in party, you can get 4* firestorm at chock points.... That basically just means you won't be able to focus on the screen any more and you need to cast your spells with your, emm, "feels" at the rough direction whilst you can't actually see what's going on. Dead annoying, that is.
Just imagine if there is a horde of rage demons coming down the road... And you are stuck with 4 eles and all blind...
1* ele: fabulous experience + CC
2* ele: everyone is a blind man & 50% chaotic focus success rate (well, effectively, why the **** does our teammate's status effects, not just chaotic focus but also others like encore as well would show up on my screen anyway? That just make no ******** sense!)
4* ele: emm... how do you actually play this game? I can't walk because I'm staring at the ******* wall or celling or what ever! Help!
Is that where we have a party, and all share our musical compositions of how we imagine the soundtracks to our nightmares? Because I've been doing that for years.
What about Knockout Bomb? One archer using one ability that is off cooldown quickly due to Opportunity Knocks seems far more efficient than the method stated above. I find Knockout Bomb to be extremely useful on Nightmare, especially against Red Templars. Add a virtuoso to the mix, and it is constant nightmare combos.
The NM combo off PC is amazing, but its is rare to have a team composition able to do so. It basically requires a tightly coordinated private game that communicates, not often found on pugs.
What is wrong with virtuoso on FC aside from the fact it is a very boring kit?
No CC, No (or very difficult) sustained DPS, and very often it is full support builds that don't work well if the players are trying to spawn camp. Very unlikely to have KoB / Sleep spammers for PC NM combo as well.

Yes. I certainly do anyways, and its quite apparant on PC others join public NM games regularly. Some with Hakkon weapons as well, and others with Dragon weapons or better usually.
Team coordination is more important composition, IMO. One of my fastest NM runs was 1 assassin, 2 hunters and 1 duelist and I think most people would consider that composition horrendous.
I experimented in a pug (sorry poor puggies
).
First run: ignored the pugs and did what I normally do when I'm playing with friends.
Result: wiped.
Second run: followed their cues (since I had an inkling of what they wanted to do by now), and stuck to it no matter how terrible that plan was (4 people in a tiny room with 6 red Templar assassins, what could go wrong
)
Result: extracted.
Composition was the same both runs.
Anything that includes a good tanking Legionnaire. Assassin/Hunter sucks pretty much in NM, in my opinion. As well as playing with 2 or more AWs... there's just no dmg. You even notice one AW. Didn't see a Reaver in NM, yet. Don't dare to play one since most PUGs consisting of AW's, Assassin's and Legionnaire's (the one's not provoking but damage dealing).
first everyone needs to be perma level 20s...promote-lords need not apply. Ok so dream team:
Alchemist explosions are great for making it look like you contributing good dps without really making a dent
Assassin great for being stealthed all the time and ending up faded for the rest of the game by map two.
Necro good for basically doing pushups around the map with walking bomb revives
Finally you need an Arcane Warrior to look good on the front line w/ full barrier and slooooowly carry the rest of the team for this 3 hour adventure.
Works everytime for me...
I lol'd

Coordination Required: spam Knockout Bomb, spam Power Chord.
I see how this might be difficult for you. Too many complicated steps.

He may not have CC but he does have buffs that you can not get from any other character. Also, with Hakkon's Wisdom, Power Chord is almost as good as you once claimed it to be. As far as I can tell, there are only three other classes that have higher DPS than ZITHER! that is also sustainable, and only one of them is AoE.

Step Zero:
Get a player to willingly spec KoB Spam and use it.
You don't typically get past this part, because players, especially pugs, don't spec into KoB.
You're really have no clue what you're talking about or who you're speaking to, because I have KoB spam builds listed specifically for PC NM combos, and encourage it a lot. However, I am realistic in that there's very few players that actually spec into KoB, let alone use it. The only time it happens regularly is during private games, which does require coordinating players builds. It is not a casual thing to do.
PC NM combo is absolutely amazing, but it doesn't happen often due to how players choose to behave outside of gameplay mechanics.

Gotta say that knockout bomb spam is amazing. I used to think it was the worst skill ever, now I never play without it. Considering that longshot/leaping shot have almost no cooldown and are highly spammable I found myself not using ExS at all. So I decided to switch to KoB which turned out working pretty fantastic. It can help you in some tough situations that the... delicate archer wouldn't be able to get out of. Also dreaded RTC is vulnerable to sleep.
Nightmare combos are a bonus however I haven't been getting them too often since even with friends we don't coordinate too much and just have fun playing whatever we feel like at the moment. But it's certainly fun getting the combo from time to time. ![]()
The only thing about KnockoutBomb I don't like is the no animation canceling on rogues. L2p issue I guess but it is annoying to have to pause before you can use it.
You don't have this issue with spike trap though which you can lay down right after firing a shot.

I think the best team is 1 tank 1 support and 2 dps. I've done around 40 nm runs most success was with some combination of the below.
Tank: Legionnaire
Support: Elementalist Keeper Virtuoso Arcane warrior
Dps: Duelist Reaver Archer

Avvar sucks. Yarp has been testing some passives that don't work
Lego DuelistX2 Archer do just fine.
That was just because we are so godamn awsome! ![]()
It did work out pretty well though, I was happy to see the dragon melted real quick, that was actually the quickest part of the run.

NM combos are not nearly as rare as you make them out to be. It only takes two people to execute nightmare combos. Virtuoso doesn't have to spec anything special to pull it off...just upgraded powerchord which all Virts should have even if they plan to be solely support. Sleep isn't terribly uncommon from non-KoB sources. Only takes one game to find out if your teammates are creating sleep, then play accordingly.
Anyway, KoB is great for NM. Find myself running Explosive Shot / Leaping Shot / KoB / Mark of Death.
Two people to actually fight and one to baby sit raise me and cart me around on a donkey during the match works well.
Personal favorite:
Archer - Mark of Death / Knock out bomb
Zither - Killer Set / Upgraded Powerchord
Reaver
Fourth slot can be filled by anything. Adding a second Archer or Reaver would probably be optimal.
Dragon goes down second time he lands, if not sooner. Zither uses Killer Set, Archer MoD. If you have a second archer its possible to down the dragon before it has a chance to fly off.
I wasn't being entirely serious, however I wouldn't be surprised to see it done.I've seen stranger things.Actually I find having multiple ele is the most annoying thing when I'm playing ele myself.
