You don't need presets, just a good character creator that should contain a variety of different skin tones. From then on, you should be able to construct a face of any race from indepth sliders. However I'd imagine there won't be a preset of a native American for the same reason there won't be for hundreds of other races and unless the community really screamed for it I don't see it coming to fruition either.

All I hope for this time is that Bioware get black and Asian characters right. They got the former right for Inquisition at least but still couldn't do Asian characters properly.

Bioware are slowly catching up with other developers with their character creator. I expect to be wowed by Andromeda's. When Bloodborne has a better character creator than your game, well you know you better up your game considering Bloodborne came from From Software, as in the company that previously only had almost comical character creation systems like Oblivion's in their games.

Man, remember what happened when you selected 'Random' in Oblivion's CC?

That was crazy.

I want an Asian face preset. It's almost impossible to make a good Asian face. Most of them look mixed at best.

I 100% support this but wanted to add that no matter what I do my Shep always looks like he has an Asian grandparent

I don't recommend doing this on the Sims either! THE OUTFIT ALONE....

Yeah in ME1 the one white preset ended up looking part Asian if you went with the young option. And honestly the 3-4 settings for each variable didn't come close to covering white ethnic groups.

I think they had 1 preset for Asian, black, white and maybe Hispanic. And like 6 mixed presets.

With the weak range of changes you could make I'm sure tons of ethnic groups were left out.

As I imported I have no idea how it or if it improved in 2 and 3.

I'd love a huge range of presets with a massive array of options to modify. I like making a me in RPGs. Always have, so I very much get the desire to have a preset that hits your needs. Most my life games either couldn't get blond right or didn't even have the option. Man that irritated me.

As a general tip, I recommend: http://www.facesofgaming.com/

They do various games, but they started out as a ME based site.  They have good codes as well as head morphs for all sorts of different Shepards for ME2 and ME3  Some extremely nice ones as well.  The best part is that there is a slider embedded into the site.  Basically, you can plug in your desired face code from ME3, and it'll give you the values for ME1.  Sometimes they might need a little tweaking (nose shape comes to mind,) but it's made life a lot easier for me when it comes to making good looking and consistent Shepards for the series.  :)

This is wonderful, thank you!! Though only five males in the DAI section, lol! Luckily I can make pretty cute male Lavellans. But I do need help with Shepards. And despite a butt load of mods, my male bosmer has the most bizarre cheekbones... bah.

EDIT: Dang, seems to be heavily swayed towards female characters in general...

I've already seen multiple sarcastic posts like this. I do not know if you're trying to say it is impossible to add certain race presets to a video game because then one would have to add every single Race Preset to that video game, or not.

I've already said that most Race presets cover many races in video games. Just not all. Adding a couple more race presets might cover all races in video games.

I literally cannot read that yellow text.  I have no idea what it says.

While I agree that the character editor itself in DA:I was amazing, the options were not. I made two female Inquisitors and both look pretty similar simply because there are only 1 or 2 good options for every facial aspect. It's kinda ridiculous that the CC offers us 10-something different eye options to choose from yet all of them suck except for 1 of them. Same thing with the hair, the eyebrows and the lips.

When it comes to improving the CC, I think BioWare should really focus on that. They should give us more good-looking options, not a ton of ugly options and only 1 or 2 good-looking options.

That is my problem too. The attractive presets are usually pretty close to what is generally considered "ideal". Especially for the female face. So, trying to make a unique character often means making them uglier. Adding flaws. Which can be quite appealing, of course.

However, I too have noticed that almost all eye shapes in Biowares games (or even, say, Skyrim) look awful. Retarded even. Most lips are terrible too.

So at least 70% of the time when I create a (female) character, in any game, I keep the eye shape, often the lips, and the eye brows. Or at least I want to because they look best.

Maybe I'm just not skilled enough...

Funny though, all my male Skyrim characters looked superior to the presets (imo). They were fugly as hell. The female ones were not so easy to improve.

(I was so surprised how good the CC was actually considering how basic and outdated it is. I played recently for the first time.)

I agree that attractive male Shepards were a pain in the ass. And all my female ones looked related... DA2 was worse though for female diversity, they all looked like Natalie Portman!

I support ethnic diversity for the presets, but most of all I want presets I can work with. DAI was a huge step in the right direction. I think ME:A will have a decent CC at least.

I am just playing ME3 again and I dont remember how many times I played Prologue:Earth! after billions of mods and restart and lots of help from modders finally I managed to create nice looking fem shep.cause my beautiful femshep from me2 became horror movie after import.also you have no idea how she looks when you enter the game cause of the terrible CC.

I hope you you will be proved right about ME:A CC.I mean it!

I have two Hawke ladies that I did two years apart without even remembering what first one looked like and they look identical face shape-wise :P

I also agree on ME, it's very hard to make female characters to me that don't look similar. Also I think you can do more unique guys than girls with the CC, though it requires some work. Though overall the ME CC has always been very limited and I sincerely hope they will do better CC on ME:A.
