Documents give you the option to identify yourself as one of the following: Asian, Black, American Indian, Pacific Islander, Caucasian, Hispanic, and Middle Eastern (something along those lines) I think this is a fair classification of the major races of the entire world. It can't be impossibly hard to create an even number of decent, photogenic face presets for each racial group, or atleast most of these racial groups, instead of creating 18 ugly Caucasian presets, 4 attractive Caucasian presets, and like 1 preset for Black and Asian. That's just silly. Most of this world is not white, and needless to say alooot of people of color like to play video games, and I'm sure some Caucasian/non-Caucasian players alike wouldn't mind some diversity in their protagonists in general.

Just because you are not aware of it from your own personal experience, there is no doubt there are certainly visible physical differences between different ethnic groups, atleast in the face (you can research it) Bioware really got somewhere with this with the way they designed Dorian. He very much looks Middle Eastern (mostly notably through his aquiline nose and particularly olive colored skin) even if you don't completely agree with me, you can probably agree he sure as heck ain't caucasian, black, or even asian, and that in itself is the kind of refreshing diversity that video games (and everything else really) could really use. Simply because that's just what the world looks like.

I am writing one of those things that is becoming clear to me as I'm writing it, and I can hardly believe it. It is a weird feeling, and it feels like it shouldn't be true, but amazingly, it is.

The best CCs I have ever used for creating characters of a variety of ethnicities have all been fighting games. Specifically, simulator fighting games. I have never thought about it, and it stuns me, but when it comes to this, specifically, they are leaps and bounds ahead of any RPG Character Creator that I have ever seen.

I'm thinking of all the best ones, and the list is all fighting games. They all allow you to combine all kinds of different features that can easily cover just about anything you want. Half-Asian, one quarter black, and one eigtth each of Hungarian and Persian? They can do a face like that:

UFC 2009, 2010, UFC 3 and UFC for the XBone can all do it really well.

Fight Night 2, 3 and 4 are good.

The character creators for almost any edition of Smackdown, Raw, or Smackdown Versus Raw have variety on a scale that puts just about everything else to shame.

Frankly, it is a huge part of the appeal of those games for me. I really haven't ever thought about it before, but the character creators of other video games are lagging more than a decade behind, no exaggeration.

Notable exception: Dragon's Dogma. That has the best CC of any Fantasy/RPG game that I've played, but it still can't do different racial/ethnic features as well as the others that I mentioned.

Dragon's Dogma CC is just unbelievably beautiful. If I could insert that into any RPG I've played, I would.

So its Native Americans this week I see.

Anyone want to take bets for next week? Maybe Kurds, the Ainu, or Ancient Egyptians.

"Hispanic" is some nonsense made up by the U.S government and it's census, which ends up getting used in inane leftist identify politics sadly enough. Seeing as how a Latin American can be anything from a white Cuban, a Mexican mestizo, a black colombian, a Bolivian Amerindian or a Japanese-Peruvian, it's as idiotic as considering native english speaking American(or Canadian) whites, blacks or asians as part of some "Germanic" or "Anglo" racial/ethnic category.

Oh and "middle easterners" are Caucasian too FYI.

I'm for the presets representing a variety of races. I loved that sims 4 had that.

If the CC is up to snuff than you should be able to make different types of faces - including native american.

I'll bet on my peeps and say mixed race. So many of these threads give the example of "I wanted to create this race but the best I could do was mixed looking" but I want that perfect looks like they're from 60% of the world and would blend in with the the other 40% look.

I'm hoping we get a wide variety of presets this time, plus lots of beautiful customisation options. Based on a couple of other character creators I've seen lately, I think they could definitely make it so we can have good-looking protags (of whatever ethnic group you choose).

Native americans in space? Sure, we've already been down that road before. Could be a way to include hilarious face tattoo options as well.

I am genuinely annoyed that I didn't get the first post on this thread. My post would have been, "How!"

Because that's how they say hello, and it's also a legitimate response to the thread's idea. I guarantee it would've got 15+ likes.

Meh.

Not sure how serious this topic is.... but, anyway.

If they add an Asian preset, we'll instantly have a Native American preset as well.

I think I've played most of these games, and I forgot totally about their character creation. Some of the character creations in games are amazing such as UFC Games and Dragon's Dogma.

I'm pretty sure Ancient Egyptian features are not around anymore, and maybe can be made anyway by changing a Caucasian preset, and as I said before, many Races can be created by using other presets, but Native Americans and Inuits have distinct facial Features. A Native American Face preset would cover many Races from the Americas I think, like maybe descendants of Central American Natives. Look at this: Chakotay-star-trek-voyager-3982178-1024-

I heard someone say there is a lot of non-serious joking posts on this forum, and I am new so...It's hard to tell if some of these posts are serious or not.

But I have said that Facial Presets are meant to be changed to match the Race that one is trying to achieve for their character, but Native American facial features are hard to create I think, and I think some facial features of Native Americans are impossible to achieve without a Native American preset. This is why I'm hoping that there will be a Native American preset in the next game.
