May I get a source for that?  I keep reading that and I have yet to see WoG or Codex on the subject.  I'm not saying it isn't true, but I haven't seen any evidence of it other than some characters that are of mixed backgrounds.  Is it in the books/comics, or something I can see in-game?  Or is it a developer's/writer's comment outside of the EU and the game?

 

I'm asking for a link so I can check it out for myself.  

 

It's mentioned in the Mass Effect: Revelations. I can't give you an exact page number right now as I don't have the book at my apartment (it's at my parents' place I think) but it's mentioned twice. Once when Anderson's features are described and how he's of mixed race like the vast majority of humanity in the 22nd century and later it's brought up again when Kahlee Sander's features are described and how her blonde hair and blue eyes have become a rarity due to recessive genes.

Anderson has features more associated with people that are black/African-American descent (African-British, in his case.  "I was born in London.")  Emily Wong had features decidedly more Asian.  Rather than someone of any direct nationality, how about someone that has a lot of NA features as a preset?  The broad nose, darker reddish skin and prominent cheekbones.  A "mixed" race that has those features more prominent as a preset still seems plausible to me.

 

After seeing a pretty large variety in looks of the human NPCs (including redheads, which are pretty rare even today,) I still don't see what the problem is.

My potentially offensive humor aside, I'm all more for it. There should be more Native Americans represented in videogames. So far the only prominent one that come to mind are Conner(AC3) and Delsin (Infamous 2), one great one meh..

Just a random fact: Redheads are the result of a mutation. They're basically mutants.

 

Not trying to dehumanize redheads here, it's just how it is. That why you sometimes see two dark-haired parents with a redhead kid.

 

As long as these mutations keep happening, redheads will always exist (though they will always be a scarcity).

 

 

Anyway to get back on topic: I'm not inherently against BioWare including an NA preset in the CC, but I'm not really expecting them to do so nor would I really care if they wouldn't add an NA preset.

I think it's a cool idea, but not something I'm personally invested in.  If they do, awesome.  If not, oh well.  It's not a terrible idea, so I support it.  I do see where you're coming from though.  I'm not going to argue lore against it, since I've seen the ME rules mutable more often than not.  <shrug>

 

Heh, I have to laugh.  My brother, mother, sister-in-law and my niece are all mutants.  I'm not offended, just amused.

Wait, in ME different classes have different racial presets? This is news to me. Which games? All of them? Just ME3?

At no point did I state that classes have racial presets. Only that the 6 class system can be used as a way of devising racial presets. Ffs!

You have the the 3 core classes/races and then you have the 3 mixed classes/races.

Seems like a pretty simple concept to me. I must not have written it in a way that can be easily understood.

I already explained this in the first post, and in another post I ask specifically for a Native American preset, a new Asian Preset, because I'm pretty sure other presets already cover most Races, though I am speaking of Mass Effect Character Creator, which is very bad. I also ask for an advanced Character Creator like here if they actually do something about their Character Creator:

They should add a new Asian Preset, because I tried making an Asian Character and I failed. I'm pretty sure we already have the means to create an African Character, though I think they should update all the face presets and structures in the next game's Character Creator.

Yeah, I did read it and I was not trolling. I don't get why people whine about the game featuring minor populations while some major ones never had an presence. Should we include Irish, Australians, Scottish and Russians as well? What about the people living east of China? Who are certainly more then the native Americans? Come on, this game is not only released in the US.

Please don't argue with the idea of this thread. How have you read the first post? I already said most face presets cover many Races.

Because I've never seen BioWare use a dynamic slider, and I do not think they will. This is a backup Incase they decide to make some super simple Character Creator with a few presets like they did in the past games. But trust me I'll still be complaining if they don't enhance the Character Creator.

 

As for argument, this post isn't about that, it's about discussion, not why a Native American preset should or should not be in the next game. It should be in the next game (Unless there is a more dynamic character creator that allows for the creation of a Native American character) is what I'm saying, and as I said before, I don't know why anyone would argue with having a Native American preset in the next game.

Ok, this reaction might be even more vehement that I anticipated. This addition would mean a more varied CC, with features that both fit the lore just fine and broaden our ability to customize the protagonist, which is a benefit to everyone who enjoys the CC. The assumption that this is about an inclusiveness quota is not backed by any statement from the OP. 

 

If there were Native American features in the CC, that might end up being the profile you like most, even if you alter it past recognition. You might be dismissing something that you'd enjoy.
