Didn't drink from well, yet emitting blue light

I am new. If this is a common question, I apologize. I have googled it and I'm finding nothing.

I was curious as to why the inquisitor emit's the same blue light as Mythal's soul light during the Well of Sorrows. Even if She/He didn't drink from the well. The inquisitor is the only one in the party who has a blue glow before she runs into the Eluvian.

Since Bioware loves their hints and small details I wonder if anyone has an idea. You don't drink from the well and yet you still have some smoke and blue light circle you. And then you just turn blue. I could be over thinking this.

Pretty sure it's just a bug. Morrigan should be the one glowing if she drank from the well.

Hmm, it's been awhile since I got all the way to the end in my PT's. But...maybe the Inquisitorle attracted some..wispy, magic-y elements? We don;t really know all the bells and whistles of how the Well works. Or what it opens up, if you will.

In addition, with that mark of the Fade on their hand--a part of their being now, that cannot be removed without their death (like Dorothy's Ruby Slippers), maybe some spirits were simply attracted to it.

Maybe they hitched a ride out on the Inquisitor when the Well was breached.

It could just be a "cool" effect. Although, I would like more "cool" effect small details to actually be a part of some sinister dev plans. Premeditated and conscious small details.

I hope you are right. And my Lavellan romanced Solas. If it's not a bug and somehow she was still effected by the well, poor Solas.

Although, I just watched a youtube video where Morrigan drank from the Well and the same thing happened.
*Nevermind they said they think it is a bug as well*

It's a bug but I'm pretty sure it always happens, not just sometimes. Like how an elf Lavellan always has a bug where they act like they don't know Mythal and stuff.

T'is a bug. Sometimes a squad mate will glow too. I've had Varric glow before. It's funny, innit?

You have radiation poisoning. The Temple of Mythal is also where the elves dumped all their toxic waste.

Had that too, but I just blamed it on the anchor.

Most likely explanation? It's a design flaw. The game clicks to the cinema scene that follows if the Inquisitor drank from the well. Or, someone above me posted that Varric got the glow once. In this case it might be from having Varric selected before the Well scene starts, and the game just puts the glow on whoever is selected, thinking that character will always be the Inquisitor.

The less likely but possible story explanation is that some of the spirits gave power to the Inquisitor. But I don't know why this would be. The Inquisitor isn't the key to the eluvian, and not the last to go through. The spirit in the Well was the last to go through.

I have had that happen in all of my playthroughs as well. Like an above poster mentioned, I figured the glow was because of the Anchor- It was simply reacting to some heavy elven magic being expended in its presence (the Anchor being sort of elven in origin itself).

I asked this one some time back and got a similar reply about sometimes other people glowing.   You can even find YouTube videos showing this.    Never thought it might be connected to who you were clicked on when it switched to cinematics.    When people say it is bugged, do they mean the whole animation is a mistake or just the fact that people other than the Inquisitor glow?

I must admit I would be rather disappointed if it is not meant to happen in some way or other and is relevant to the Inquisitor.    Since I have only ever had my Inquisitor glow whether they drank from the Well or not, I assumed it had to do with the Anchor.   After all the orb that it was created from was elven, so it follows it would react to the magic of the place.   What seemed to happen to me was that the Anchor started to pulse because of the appearance of Corypheus and then linked in to the protection of the Well, which started to emit at the same time.   Hence the Inquisitor glowing with the same light.

I have always been clicked on the Inquisitor because I largely leave other people to do their own thing in battles.   I have never liked the tactical camera so don't use that mode.

Well we already have confirmation that the woman in the well was programed with round ears because the devs thought that the water refraction filter would obscure her ears! They never thought that a glitch might happen in their buggy game that would let us see that her ears are round and not pointed! But they said the woman is indeed intended to be a pointy eared elf.

So in light of that, I think the blue glow is also some unintended occurrence due to dev laziness.
