All of my custom heroes from DAO and DA2 are gone and the Keep wont allow me to re-upload them again.
What has happened?
First it won't let me keep my custom DAO hero in my custom world state.. and now all of my custom heroes are gone.. what is going on?!
What happened to my custom heroes?!

Got my heroes back! 
..but the game still changes my DAO custom hero into one of the default heroes every time I try starting a new game.

The game doesn't save char names or portraits, so when reuploaded to the Keep it will always set them to the default char for the race/gender/class combination. Working as intended. Just change the char back in the Keep when you finish DAI.Got my heroes back!

Then why when you upload the custom world state it to DAI does it clearly shown in the "Profile" folder the names and portraits of your custom heroes?
Besides if you use the custom world state in your game you are, depending on your choices in DAO and DA2, in one way or another going to "come across" both your earlier DA-games characters. It will also have influences in your DAI game based on the results/consequences surrounding things related to the main- and sidequests you did in DAO and DA2.
This was done so that you could create your own unique story in the world of Thedas.
