That's the cat vortex paradigm.
We all know a cat ALWAYS land on their legs if they fall so what happen when you have 2 cats bound to each other by their spine?
Answer: The first cat will try to land on its leg, but the second will try to counter balance it to land on its legs instead. That reaction will cause them to spin infinitely creating a vortex that could very well rip time itself apart...
Infinite loops are dangerous, pray it never gets to this!
I have heard this proposed as perpetual motion machine to harness an infinite power source, but never as a doomsday device.

This is a bit like getting jealous of rich successful people because they were unwilling to suckup/cheat/screw people over to get there.
I... wut... I... No, I'm not going to ask you to explain what you mean. I think I know better.
The worst you can do to yourself is envy them while disregarding all context
Who is env... nope, nope... never mind. Not going to ask.
Did you guys know that the number 1 on xbox was a female?

LOL still trolling? Pork rindsDid you guys know that the number 1 on xbox was a female?
your looping now eh?I thought that was a rumour?
Not that I have been counting but I find it ironic that it seems more people who say they do not care about leaderboards seem to post than people who actually care. lol
There are a fair number of people (Myself included) that like being on the board but don't actually care so much as to make it their life's work. I mean I did not actively try to get on the board, I just have been working toward completing all challenges and want to get my stats to around max dmg reduction levels. If that keeps me on the board so be it, and I think a lot of people feel the same.
However, we as humans like to feel value from our time spent and how do we measure that value in a game... Easiest way is a leaderboard as it's tangible to everyone, but there are other ways like friendships, the actual gameplay and how far or well you can progress through the different difficulties, loot, etc. I think some angst toward people who trivialize any of these methods to determine value is warranted because everyone is different and can find their reason for value in a different place so who has the right to say someone who wants to be on the leaderboard has less value then someone who says they don't care.
Any online game is like a microcosm of our societies, and there will always be people who want to do the supposed right thing, do the supposed wrong thing, or find an answer in-between. The "Vitriol" that has been on the forums lately has actually been building due other forms of gameplay and leaderboard jumping due to the Virt mana glitch, the stealth auto-crit issue, in the past the Ele fade cloak exploit, auto-canceling, and other things like one of the posters mention people jumping in a game at the boss fight with level 1's to get an xp boost (and as I have heard supposedly there is even more forms of cheating of the PC platform). Some people feel these things are not cheating because they are creatively working with game issues the developer has not fixed. This is sometimes supported that ever since gaming has been around there have been many games with "cheat codes" embedded into the game.
In most games these "cheats" if you will are mostly harmless as they usually only affect the gameplay of the individual. When they affect the gameplay of others like with the ME3 missile glitch, then the player base tends to get upset the most. The in-between area to me is the leaderboard as some care, and some don't, but for most on the board you typically have invested more time than the majority of the player base. I still get enjoyment out of this game, despite some people on the board moving like 50 levels in 1 day, but then I fully understand being upset when things like that happen as people have a right to want a clean leaderboard that accurately represents value based on time, skill and knowledge of the game. In DAMP's case the leaderboard was never really good at all that though, and the people who do use these glitches/exploits/cheats only really impact their own game session for the most part as they will level to a point of trivializing the hardest difficulties much sooner than most and then most likely leave the game months before they would have otherwise.
So to follow the original purpose of this thread there will be anger over abusing game mechanics/exploits, etc. and there should be because it shows people care, care about the game, care about personal integrity, and care about the feelings of others. However, I don't think these issues warrant bashing anyone personally or quitting the game. Personally, I will not let the actions of a few determine wither I enjoy playing DAMP, as that is my decision alone. I wish it wasn't so easy for games to have glitches/exploits, but they do and lots of games will continue to have these issues for a very long time or forever. So, while we all have the right to be upset I think it's more important to focus on why you play the game, why you have fun playing and hopefully keep playing the game the way you enjoy and try to be at least respectful of the way other like to play.
To me the bigger issue is that I have seen some of the Xbox One player base start to shift away from DAMP again, and wither that is directly due to the aforementioned issues or not it still concerns me. I plan to keep playing this game for a long time and really don't want the player base to dwindle to the point I can't find good groups anymore. This concern would cause me to get more upset than any other way to look at what has been going on. People tend to leave in droves if they feel the developer won't try to keep the game mechanics fair and as clean as possible. I think BioWare wants to do this, but I'm not sure their response will be quick enough or fair enough for the player base. It would have been a lot easier if once they knew about the xp issue they made a statement detailing how to identify the issue when in-game and that anyone using one of these lobbies after the specified date would be disciplined. Then it truly becomes a case of do it at your risk.
There seem to be a lot of prejudice and assumptions regarding Leaderboards players, which is a shame since the majority of player there that I know (and I know many) are pretty humble about being there, and they just happen to be there because they love the game. Obviously there are elitist jerks, but they are the minority.
I am currently #1 on PC, and I think I am seen as a no-lifer obsessed elitist, which couldn't be farther from the truth. I am where I am only because I have a ton of fun playing this game and I have awesome friends to play with. I don't ever force myself to play, I don't play with people I don't want to, I don't pug, I don't solo. I play strictly to have fun with friends after a long day of work - by the way, I work full-time, 6 days a week.
I am perfectly ok that others pass me on the Leaderboards, and given that there are many players with more time available to play than I do, that is likely to happen.
One thing about the leaderboards that worries me are the cheaters. But that is probably a matter for another topic.
I'm suddenly scared of being crushed under a wall. Edit: Well, not anymore, since apparently I have a bit of a buffer protecting me. Serves me right for taking too long to type, I suppose.
In terms of the glitches and etc. just look at the leaderboard progression today, it is absolutely dead, lol only people promoting are the ones who are doing the old fashion way, grinding. There seem to be a lot of prejudice and assumptions regarding Leaderboards players, which is a shame since the majority of player there that I know (and I know many) are pretty humble about being there, and they just happen to be there because they love the game. It shouldn't. Nothing should worry you about the leaderboards because it doesn't matter.

You might wanna get that itch looked at.
Only use I can find for leaderboard rankings is when
- you ask a pug to do something
- pug refuses, says he's OP and on the leaderboards
- you can say "that's nice, me too"
- and when the pug comes back with "well I'm higher than you are"
- you can say "wanna bet?"
- pug checks
- pug stops bragging about something as asinine as the leaderboards

TLDR: Leaderboard creates leaderboard drama
Edit: IE wasn't letting me post my gif so I had to go find another computer. Posts need gifs ![]()

Was? Did he change his mind?
This is all terribly serious, I feel like I should care but eh.
It shouldn't. Nothing should worry you about the leaderboards because it doesn't matter.
Of course it matters you sound totally foolish when you make statements like this.
MP games have had score boards for years.
This mp game has a scoreboard, thus it matters.
If you want to preface comments by saying it doesn't matter to me and a number of other people and in my opinion they don't serve a purpose then by all means. Absolutes like the the you posted make you look like a dolt.

Funny.
Never had that happen to me but good use of situational awareness. lol
TLDR: Leaderboard creates leaderboard drama
As for this part it is not the leaderboard that creates drama, it is people that create it and people can create drama anywhere and at anytime if they so desire. While you could try to indirectly blame the leaderboards for this, they are just numbers, and as long as they stay numbers there is no drama. However, eventually we meet someone on a leaderboard either directly via a game or on the forums, etc. and then personalities get involved.
I understand what you are saying, but even the people who say they don't care about leaderboards actually care about them or someone on them or how they impact the game. Otherwise if they truly didn't care then they wouldn't even expend the energy to post a comment on it, let alone have any kind of open dialogue. When someone truly does not care about something they just ignore it and focus on something else.
There is tremendous amount of vitriol on this forum about the leaderboard. I am not sure where this comes from, the leaderboarders I see posting here are typically down to earth and don't take it too seriously, most of them don't even post here and some being even embarrassed that they are on the leaderboard. We all know the obvious exception, but that is one person. Regardless of the data the leaderboard projects (prestige is challenges and promotions, i.e. time spent) or the fact that there can be more diverse and informative leaderboard, why all the toxic vitriol?
how can promotions = time spent when it can take new players longer to promote, specially depending on the difficulty they play and the friends or static they have, dont feel time spent is to accurate over all.....
I just want to be the strongest player in the game..... leader boards aside ...I want super sayian lvl 10 so I can spirit bomb and one hit all bosses >.>
