This post is not meant to judge the character of individuals who participate in the 2x lobbies, but it is meant to bring some clarity to your actions. In Golf I respect that players will typically call out their own mistakes even if it costs them a tournament, and that is with their lively-hood on the line. There are a lot of cool people that play DAMP or post on this forum, and it would be a shame if this issue causes the game to suffer as I really want to keep playing DAMP for a lot longer with the same fun community that has kept me interested for over 1,200hrs as that is super rare for me with most games.

I know people are upset about players creating public PUG glitched lobby, people using glitched lobby all day and moving 100's of promotions during these past week. This is relatively new players or players who have been casual players along with many players on the leaderboard players. My issue is that while on this BSN forum there are discussions on what is right course of action but many differing opinions.

However many people do NOT read or post on the forum. The representation of the leaderboard I figure is about 10% to 15%. Probably another 10% to 15% may be lurkers. The general playing community may follow the same or lower since they may not be as active. In the game itself the only thing that had come up was the TOS notification. If you were a gamer who didn't frequent the forum, you may not even be aware of all this brouhaha. BW has not stated anything like - we are aware of glitches and bugs, please refrain from using them or there may be consequences - type of notice to all players. So how are some players to react? this is lack of clarification and official position to the whole community not just the forum.

BTW is the glitch still going on? I heard maybe a patch was coming down yesterday...

Very good point from Spin as there should be a post on the game itself like what pops up for weekend challenges sometimes. Also the glitch is still active because it requires a patch not a hotfix and this requires Microsoft approval and typically these get implemented on Tuesdays. The smaller hotfixes or weekend changes get submitted on Fridays but the xp glitch needs to go through the longer patch process from what I understand. So it will be a few more days in best case or possibly as much as 10-17 days before a patch is approved and implemented.

I am just beyond words at this point. The number of players who have gained 100 plus promotions over the past week continues to grow. I have reported said exploiters to Xbox and EA and yet they still continue to abuse the glitch and play daily. I am about ready to create a wall of shame and start naming names!

You seems like someone very concerned about fair play. Have you talked to these people? Let them know what they are doing is wrong? Since they are playing on XBOX, they might not be browsing the forum.

 

While I think it would be best for BW to post an ingame notice, you could, like, do your part and contact all these people and tell them abusing the glitch is not okay. Or that a glitch exists. Spin-Orbit does have a point there - not everyone know what is happening.

 

I don't know how they issue punishment or things at XBOX live, but I imagine it is less pleasant than PC Origin. I'd hate to see people being punished for something they don't really know. Or being publicly denounced by random players. Even then, they might not have an account here.

I agree with everything you have said bro except the 10-17 day approval. BW devs have not offically given a specific time/date stamp on them actively working on a patch, probably due to other time specific projects for this game. And quite possibly, see this happening hopefully around the end of summer/beginning of fall time frame (when the majority of the 10 to 18 year olds gamers go back to school )

Yeah it erks the hell outta me seeing i have a plutera of hours to get my promotions to where i can play perilous or NM in comfort only to see leaderboarders who were atleast 40 to 60 points less than me or friends i game with frequently, yes, i said it LEADERBOARDERS, using 2XP lobbies to promote 20 to 30 times in one day or lil johnny coming in after 4 weeks of game play in all these 2XP lobbys and prance around saying look at me..... i promote, 2 mins l8r they promote. I wake up after 6 hours they have promoted15 or more times..... this is funny

Our money is well spent on making our game experience more enjoyable, plz focus on this problem to keep it atleast that, enjoyable.

To Camps point we do not know exact timeframe for fix. However, somewhere I believe there was a post that talked about needing a patch to fix and that the next patch would be 4-6 weeks away. That was about 2 weeks ago approximately. Based on this and the push by the player base, as well as some comments that they have actively been working on this issue. I'd say a patch will be sooner rather than later as waiting a month or more will only stand to hurt Bioware more. If people are banned or quit then that is less potential $$$ in thier pockets, both for this game or future games. So I really do believe they have every intention of getting this fixed as soon as possible following the normal patch process and approvals. That being said patches can be implemented at different times on different platforms due to Sony or Micrsofts approval process, etc.
