First of all good evening every one.

I'm a real late comer to multiplayer. Started playing two months ago and I'm totally hooked. Lately been grinding through some beginner challenges. Anyway.....

My son is seven. He solos silver with the Juggernaut. Ok, we specced him all shields and damage reduction but any how.

What do you all think? Is seven too young to play mp?

all my friends have children and play video games that are not appropriate for them because of their age but most of them never play that kind of games alone they playing with them, so i dont see a big problem with that, but if you compare in the country where I live you can turn on the TV in the morning, afternoon and evening and actually see horrible things, massacres, shootings, kidnappings, the child play a video game rated for over 17 with their parents is not a big deal in my opinion.

Yeah, we play together in the sense that I watch him play and he watches me play. He's getting a bit too wise for his own good lately though - things like "dad, you forgot to cloak before shooting"...

Anyways, we've had great weather over here for a couple of days so no mp... before sunset...

Just a quick follow-up here people...
The young man quickly grew tired of Juggs' slow movement so lately he's been learning some of the Krogans (Shaman, Kroguard and Soldier) and flamer GT. Basically anything that's tanky and cool to look at. Manly groans and shouts seem to be a plus also. Any suggestions?

Way to get him started right! Would suggest Batarians, but they're basically just inferior Krogans.

People..if you teach your children whats right & whats wrong...what is real & what isnt...What words are bad & shouldnt be used....Your kids will be just fine. My parents were amazing enough to let me figure everything out for myself...probably cuz they never wanted to have "the talk" with me about banging..cant blame them.. I was watching R rated movies when I was 6 years old..with my siblings..not my parents..that would be weird.....I turned out just fine..I havent killed anybody..as of.yet...give your kids the benefit of the doubt and let them figure things out & grow on their own..you will be surprised..

Interesting topic. I have been thinking about this myself. It's a mature rated game so normally its not a game you'd let your kid play but when it comes to multiplayer its not filled with the single player stuff that makes you question whether you should let your kid play it as much.

I have a 5 month old and when I am gaming I just tell my wife to not let him look at the screen and have him play in his room or something. Mostly because I don't want him having nightmares with Banshee's and monsters and stuff. What I normally do is I just play against the Geth a lot when he's in the same room I game in. Robots don't seem to be that scary to him or mostly anybody unless they look like scary robots.

Ultimately its your choice. In multiplayer I'd keep him in an xbox live voice chat or something to not let him hear all of the profanity and gameplay speak. The last thing anybody needs is a kid hearing all that swearing AND/OR him doing all of the swearing on chat/games.

Have fun with your kid. Im sure he can probably own platinum better than all of us by now. ;)

all these "if he can handle simulated violence." and "if he can tell the difference between real life and videogames" is nonesense. If your kid cant tell the difference or cant handle the "violence" then he probably had some sort of dysfunction.
