...oh, a letter-thingy!

To EAware:

Please do not stop with these micro-transactions, as they are great when it comes to your bottom line and dealing with your shareholders. Furthermore I understand the focus on cosmetics instead of playable content or new-tech development that could progress the genre. As a consumer I acknowledge the income/time and money ratio such strategy generates. But as a gamer I will not indulge in or support that kind of content deterioration personally by actively choosing not to give you a dime... and being damn vocal about it.

Sincerely

         Innsmouth Dweller

@OP: Begging or pleading to EAware will not stop their awful practices, because they'll do as they please if it suits them. You really want to stop micro-transactions, then stop supporting them. Be part of the solution, not the problem.

Yeah, I have no interest in any "Spoils Of" DLC packs. Didn't buy either of em. Only thing I'll put my hard earned money into is a good story based DLC.

The state of skyhold is quite representative of the state of the game. Maybe that was a Bioware joke.

I'm just pissed they removed healing magic and rewrote lore to make it okay to charge players extra money for heal potions in multiplayer.

That's totally not cool.

Well before release I spoke that I'd buy vanity package if it included more hairstyles especially for qunari Inquisitors who only have 3 (female) and 4 (male), because that department is really lacking. However I very much doubt now that Bioware is going to do anything hair wise and even if they did I doubt quality of work would be any better than with qunari item pack DLC's. Also since they dropped support of PS3 I wouldn't even get to buy that DLC since apparently PS3 can't handle these item packs

Hair DLC would have been my first item/vanity DLC as well, since I'm not really into buying DLC's that don't add story content.

More hair would be great. Actual hair. Not different styles of having little hair

Microtransactions are part of games. As long as I'm not in a pay to win scenario good for them. Plenty of businesses live and dies on add ons. Theaters make money off soda not tickets, car dealers off adding the gold package, restaurants off drinks and desserts not the entree. Companies I like I want to see them make money, pay their talented people and make me more games. I'm selfish as all get out but just a bit more long term selfish than some.

I don't mind the micro-transactions  - purchases are optional after all.

But I do agree the price for the stuff in the Avaar and the Qunari packs is too high for the content. I don't use mounts (very slow and cumbersome IMO on the PS4) and I don't care so much about decorating Skyhold.

I bought the Avaar pack. It was a mistake as I did not realize there were no weapons in it. I wont buy the Qunari pack.

I would  pay for repairing  Skyhold, new casual outfits, new weapons and armor, hair, beard, tat pack, and any new SP story content.

Bioware & EA will not stop with the microstransactions model of business because they make money out of it. The reality is that it is gamers who in our unslakable thirst for instant gratification, buy these vanity items and multiplayer packs which ultimately, gives reason for the microtransaction model to exist.

So in order to stop this, you would have to spend your time talking gamers out of being foolish consumers...and...good luck with that...

The best thing sensible people can do is to not buy these vanity items and multiplayer chests and leave it at that. Learn to pick your battles.

Supply and demand, my advice is be respectful(devs are people too) but vocal about it and dont pay for a product you dont support, for instance i dont think the dlc they are putting out are of high enough quality so i wont buy it, same as i dont think konami is a company i wanna support so i wont be getting MGS5.

Is it really surprising that the company which invented paid DLC would do microtransactions?
