What makes it such a awesome SH is its sense of timing:

I'm curious, if you make it free do you avoid the complaints that's 15 things that were pulled from the original release so they could be made into DLCs?

It is kinda lame, that people are expected to pay for something like spoils of the Avvar, or the Qunari.

You're not forced to buy it, obviously, and it's not like they haven't put out free DLC.

But the free DLC they gave us, did not have anything new armor wise. We still have plate for inquisitor that forgot where its legplates went, and the options especially for heavy armors are visually so limiting.

So yeah, please, if possible, insteady of new items like the Avvar/Qunari thing, do something about the previous.

In the concept art we saw at some point about the possible inquisitors in a video, i remember seeing such impressive armors. Too bad only few made the final draft, and not the more impressive few.

I don't mind "these" item DLCs, as long as we get something that is missing from the existing style as well in the near future.

The answer is "Yes." it seems. lol Though, if it *is* free, then there's not much reason to complain, so its to be expected. Sure, its stuff you would have liked at launch, but adding them in for free after launch is more akin to holding back content till its finished, not nickle and diming your customers. Its like a patch almost.

Bioware/EA released two companion dlcs (Javik and Sebastian) the same day of the main game release (ME3 and DA2)? Why would they cut out content from their own game just to sell it for cash on the same day?

I don't play games just to make some sort of competition because  don't care, but i do realize when a service is better than  the other.

Sigh I think they did it again.

Geralt made you believe you were more than just friends.

Oh baby baby.

It might seem like a crush.

But man it's not that serious.

'cause to lose all your senses.

That is just so typically troll

Oh baby baby.

Oops BioWare did it again.

They played with your heart?

Did you lose it for a game?

Oh baby baby.

If you would look at Skyrim's DLC facebook at the time they'd probably overshadow the Witcher 3 DLC in the same comparison. Skyrim is probably more popular than Witcher 3, and Witcher 3 is probably more popular than Dragon age and that's fine. It's not a popularity contest.

A fully modded stable Skyrim is the best RPG one could ever hope to play.

I agree with you wholeheartedly.

Since we're brainstorming the highly improbable, I would also like a pony.

Bad games can be good if they're cheap, them's the rules when asking money for stuff.

Idk, a lot of people still complained about the Black Emporium even thought it was free. They thought it wasn't enough....

It is great CDPR did give TW3 players free dlcs. They announced the free DLCs back in November of 2014. Game wasn't released until May of 2015. Couldn't they just have put the content into the game by then? They obviously kept it out because it make for good PR. This doesn't excuse the crap EA/Bioware is doing by any means with this whole Spoils of Useless Crap that should be in Story DLCs. Let not going overboard in the praise of this free DLCs. For the record I found Witcher 3 to be better than DAI.

Giving the spoils of Qunari free as a lead up to the next story DLC would not have been a bad idea.

release it, get people playing for a bit, crafting their new armours etc. then a week later release the next story DLC for sale. Probably end up with more sales that way. Having customers feel good about a product can never be a bad thing.

Anyway I'll still pick up the next story DLC and a avoid this.

So... you're comparing a pay pack with new armor, etc... to finishing moves a mod could make and download for free? I don't get the logic.

Well, yes...

Apart from the fact that the stuff from the 15 DLCs (so far) in no way lessens the game if you play without it.

It never feels like it was cut content. It genuinely feels like it's content  polished and finished after launch (hence some delays with the Ciri DLC) and released in a such a way to keep you interested in the game as long as possible.

Of course, I expect it was mostly prepared before, but not finished and deliberately left out, but lower on the priority list and then, like I said, polished and finished after launch,

It works for their marketing and it's fair to the customer.

I honestly don't understand why anyone would want to paint it any other way just because most other companies charge you for every single DLC they release, no matter how small or insignificant.

Any way you slice and dice it the day a multi national gets there paws on CDPR those free dlc days will be gone.

Who knows what Bioware employers thinks or want, they have to adhere to EA policy.

And to be fair EA does give free things from time to time even a DAI dlc.

I find it funny that people were willing to crucify BioWare for not including free DLC soon after launch, but are willing to give TW3 a pass for some reason.

The funnier bit is that most of them do realize that the free DLC is merely polished cut content from the original release as opposed to an actual post-release work from the ground up, the latter being what gaming companies actually charge players for since the work hours are mostly if not completely separate from the original development.

Also, people who refuse to acknowledge the existence of a multiplayer portion of DAI should at least consider it in their content comparisons. DAI has been releasing free DLC for multiplayer since launch. It has also been providing players with "free DLC" in the form of content packs as awards for the completion of weekly events.

I honestly am happy that CDPR is releasing DLC for TW3, but the hypocrisy in the reception is astounding.

I agree in general with what you said, except for what I bolded.  I don't do multiplayer in games like this, and I never once considered the MP content when I decided to buy the game.  I can only evaluate DAI on the strength of my own experience with it.  I doubt this would be different for anyone else.
