IMO this seems absurd but it happens all the time:

I'm in stealth, I line up a perfect twin fangs strike on a gibbering horror, only to have him spin around and stun me before I can strike (sometimes it will be simultaneously).  Also the RT footsoldier will turn and block before I strike.

Is that working as intended?

Happens in SP all the time as well. I am not sure if there is some proximity awareness, but I had many enemies turn to face me just as I initiated flanking attack.

If the enemy isn't attacking someone else and a lot of the time even if they are the split second between leaving stealth and daggers in their back they can switch aggro. If Bioware changed stealth to only pull you out if you hit someone that would solve all of stealths problems including the ones for trapper rogues.

Perfect QoL improvement for stealth characters right there. Make it happen, Bioware!

I really like the animation of Twin Fangs, the light purple shadows that follow your movement, even the part, when Argent pulls her daggers out of the target ("arrr... they strike so deap"), but unfortunately the hitbox of Twin Fangs is one of the weirdest and strangest behaving attacks, if ever seen in a video game. Even perfectly timed and and spaced TFs might miss a target right in front of you, if he decides to take a tiny step to any direction right before the attack, or he stands slightly above or below Argent. I've lost count how many times I've missed TFs trying to hit a Despair Demon lying on the ground from a knockdown or while doing her icy beam....

Since it even deals no dmg at all hitting a target on the front, which of course you as an assassin should never be, I dump TF as fast as I could, trading it for spinning blades or deathblow.

Really? I am just getting into the assassin and I thought twin fangs would be a must ... no damage hitting in the front. So which do you advise spinning blades or deathblow. At the moment I have it set up as Stealth, Twin Fangs, Hidden Blades, Shadowstrike.

All animals have perceptive I thought. I'd have to double check maybe it's just the wolf/hyena. I just avoid all of em to be safe

I really love Deathblow. I think it's the assassins' best skill. As far as perilous goes I can one-shot most single targets and if they're half health even without cull the herd they're dead. I wish the cooldown kill thing for it wasn't so buggy though since it doesn't work a lot of the time.

Don't get me wrong, TF does an incredible amount of dmg, especially out of stealth, but since its hitbox is so unpredictable, I don't trust it as much as the other two.

Spinning Blades does with its upgrade 900 weapon dmg, the last two hits will knockdown the enemy and with "looked like it hurt" and "sneak attack" you instantly got all your stamina back, even without killing the target. Deathblow on the other hand is by far the best finisher in the game, dealing at least 900% weapon dmg (if you use it exactly at 50% enemy health, even more if the target has less health, DON'T use it above 50%) and doesn't have any cooldown if you kill your target with it, which is its best part. You really can go on a killing spree with DB, if you stab your enemy 1-2 times with your auto attack and finishing him off with DB. DB is even a small aoe attack, hitting everything within half meter or so in front of you.

I usually go with: Spinning Blades, Hidden Blades, Deathblow, Stealth.

And btw. spinning blades grants an high amount of guard, if you have Savage Thorn or another "guard on hit" dagger equipped. ^^

If the idea of twin fangs is to make the player look silly while repeatedly missing a slow moving target from behind, then yeah, it's working perfectly.

I just had a game where the team got wiped against VC.  Me & her left solo I'm in stealth, she is perfectly still, I line up a perfect shadow strike & whiff.  She just teleported away.

It's not that big of a deal when your teammates are up & drawing some attention, but when you are playing solo or the only one left, it's ridiculous.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't. I often stand near them in stealth while waiting for abilities to come off cooldown (so I can miss with TF and fly off the map or launch hidden blades at a pot), and stealth hasn't broken. They do have AoE spirit damage when in rampage mode (ie when their barrier is up and they're melee attacking), and that breaks stealth.

Your thinking of horrors (the red templar ranged units), not gibbering horrors (the little dinosaur looking creatures that use a headbutt stun).

And I dont think gibbering horrors have perception.  I think its only the few dog type enemies.

Compare Twin Fangs with Ambush:
I have often seen Ambush do a 180' spin and connect with a mob running past you. In fact the only time Ambush misses is from a higher elevation or the occasional well timed side step.
Twin Fangs should have a guaranteed hit from stealth when flanking, utilizing a lock on procedure and have an animation capable of dealing with movement.
There is nothing worse than lining up a stationary Archer only to have it run off mid animation because it's target has lost LoS. Your then left out of Stealth, with a cool down and no way of dealing with your target.

While Gibbering Horrors may, all animals do not. I know, for example, that Gurns and Druffalo are not Perceptive but Black Wolves and Hyenas are. I think the Commanders are as well, or at least the RTC.

It's easy to tell... If you attack them from stealth, the word "PERCIEVED" pops up in grey, and your stealth damage bonus is neutralized. I have not seen it happen in about seven months, but being within a close proximity of Perceptive enemies for a few seconds used to knock you out of stealth. Not sure if that was changed or I have just been lucky.

I can tell you from personal experience last weekend, that yes, perceived still knocks you out of stealth.

I don't think a number of dw rogue skills are working as intended. At least not if they're intended to hit anything.
