Been working on a play through as an Archer Artificer. Got to about level 17 or 18 and got bored- too over powering. It is God mode for Rogues. Thought I'd try to re-spec as a DW Artificer. But- I didn't want to miss out on Dragon and Boss Killing fun provided by the games most powerful Focus Skill: Hail Of Arrows. I present the following 23 point build I've been having a blast with:

Stealth Tree (5 points):

Stealth

Evasion

Evade

Shadow Strike (+ upgrade)-  can be used even if you have a Bow equipped.

DD Tree (7 points):

Flank Attack (+Upgrade)

Twin Fangs

Dance of Death

Sneak Attack

DeathBlow (+ Upgrade)

Archery Tree (3 points)

Death From Above

Leaping Shot (+upgrade)

Sabotage Tree (2 points)

Caltrops

Looked Like it Hurt

Artificer Tree (6 points):

Spike Trap

Set Them Up

Hail of Arrows

Elemental Mines (+Upgrade)

Opportunity Knocks

Gear:

Daggers:

Blade of the Red Birth or Coiled Spring from the BE- Coiled Spring can accommodate a dagger grip- the other can't.

Bow: Perseverance from BE or Spiked Long Bow found in the Hissing Waste. Hakkons Wrath, which can be looted from the Ice Giant in JOH, is also a great weapon if you don't want to farm to get the money to shop at the BE

Superior Prowler Armor- if you can find it- but more likely the Refined Prowler Coat found at the Stone Bear Merchant in JOH.

Superior Skirmisher Hat from the BE.

Ring of Slicing: BE

Belt: Focus or Defense- whichever you prefer here. Won't ultimately make or break the character.

Secondary Ring- whichever you prefer- flanking, attack, Enhanced Shadow Strike, etc.

Superb Stamina Amulet from Sandy Howler corpse in the Hissing Waste.

I run the following active skills when I am equipped with daggers:

Stealth

Flank Attack

Deathblow

Shadow Strike

Mark of the Rift

Elemental Mines

Spike Trap

Twin Fangs

Depending on who I am fighting- I'll usually lead in with Elemental Mines. This will litter the field with Mines and deplete all my stamina. I'll be vulnerable for a few seconds - so I want someone to take the aggro at this point. Once enemies start getting nipped by the mines- my stamina refills very quickly. At this point- I'm looking to Deathblow anyone with 50% or less health or Shadow Strike anyone who is not. If I am drawing a lot of aggro- I'll use Flank Attack to go into Stealth. If you have a Mage that casts Static Cage- Elemental Mines (upgraded) plus a Static Cage will kill any trash mobs without you having to do anything else. It's a fireworks show.

I don't normally like Flank Attack on other Rogue builds- but this build needs some stealth due to the Stamina depletion of the Mines.

For Dragons or Bosses;

Replace Flank Attack with Leaping Shot. Replace Deathblow with Hail of Arrows. Equip a Bow instead of Daggers. Pop the MO- and viola: spam leaping shot until whatever is in front of you is dead. Auto attack- if necessary- until your leaping shot is off cool down.

Fun build- that allows for some versatility. A bit squishy and will require some (not much) strategy. Specifically- the window between when you drop your mines and when your stamina returns will need to be managed.

I just want to make sure I understand.

Problem:  Hail of Arrows requires a bow

DW Artificer Solution:  Don't be DW (swap skills and weapon for bosses)

Yes sir- that's pretty much it. 3 points into archery tree (two if you don't take the Leaping shot upgrade) gives you the ability to use Hail of Arrows. Not exactly a giant revelation- but a build I've been having fun with.
