Would maybe like to hear from the devs or get a petition going. At this point I think it's the most iconic Mass Effect song in the series and to leave it out of Andromeda would be sacrilege.
Will Vigil be the main theme song for Mass Effect Andromeda?

It won't be the main theme.
It will almost certainly be in MEA, though probably not identical to the ME version. it is likely to undergo the standard 'original to sequel' music evolution.

i'm ok with that. Mass Effect did that well with their themes and musical score from game to game. Having the Shepard theme any further would be nice, but probably impossible at this point. The Vigil theme works better as the "series theme" though, think the opening fanfare of Final Fantasy as an example.

As far as the original version, I doubt that will make it into the game. I could see it as a little bit of a leitmotif for the game, with bars from the track sneaking it's way in here or there. If anything at all comes up about Shepard (say, someone talking about him/her fighting Sovereign, or taking out the Collectors, neither of which have much to do with the ME3 endings) you can bet that would likely make a brief appearance.
I can see where Links is coming from, but there's a difference for me. With a few exceptions (FFIV: After Years, FFX-2, FFXIII-2, any spin off to FFVII,) Final Fantasy was all about different stories and settings. The Crystals theme (as I found out it was called,) was one of the little ways to provide connection between the stories (along with Chocobos and whatever they are calling summons these days.) In the case of Vigil's theme, it's far too entrenched in a trilogy to be used as much here, especially since the current ME team seems determined to put as much time and space between the new story and the ME3 endings as possible without making it too far ahead.

That said I wouldn't mind if vigil was still sneaked in there a couple of times just to get those nostalgia feels.

While the Vigil theme score is nice, I'd like for them to develop new scores. If there's one thing BioWare hasn't completely messed up on, it's their original scores.

I personally doubt it. It may be in some of the more emotional scenes, but likely limited. Vigil is kinda tied to the Reapers as well, but probably no more than the name "Mass Effect."
A new main score would be needed, as much as I love Vigil.

About 50-60% of the tracks will be new with old stuff mixed in (Think how the Star Wars themes evolved from the originals to the prequels, which is the one aspect of the prequels that isn't controvercial, it had good music.) 30%+ will be brand new. 10-15% will be taken straight from older works. That seems to be the flow of music I have noticed in games going from originals to sequels.

Their music in general is some of the best imho, when they use it.
<Shoots the DA team a dirty look for claiming "immersion" as the reason for no music in most non-main story zones and not the honest answer, "resources.">

Hope not. Ideally they should do the same thing with characters as the music. I don't want to see anybody from the Shepard Trilogy and I don't want to hear any music from it either.
All new everything. Though, I wouldn't mind if they went back to synth-type of music akin to what they used in ME1.

A remixed version I do expect. Doubt it would be recycled as the theme for ME:A.

I don't know. I saw the main theme for Mass Effect, Shepards theme being that leitmotif. We heard in the opening cut-scene, it was re-tooled as the Suicide Mission and Leaving Earth, and it ended on the best note possible, being the backbone for An End, Once and For All.
For me, that is Mass Effect the trilogy in musical terms, it was pretty much pitch perfect. The Vigil theme I feel is emblematic of Mass Effect as a whole; its more timeless if you ask me and it is a good way to bridge a connection between the series, wherever it goes.
Either way, I hope we hear it in some form.

The problem is that Shepard's theme/Vigil's song shouldn't apply here. The devs have stressed heavily that this will little to do with Shepard. Plus, the song itself is tied into the Reapers. My hunch is that they're going to keep any mention of Shepard minimal, and might bring up a few key events not related to the ME3 endings or stuff like curing the genophage or the death of all Quarians (which is why I have some serious doubts as to whether or not we'll see the race. For the sake of their fans, I hope we do.)
On the other hand, that's also why I suggested that it could be effective in some scenes. If Shepard is brought up and Vigil's theme doesn't appear in some fashion, I will be kinda disappointed. That being said, I look forward to whatever new theme that there are going to come up with. If the ME series to this point is any indication, the theme will be appropriate and subtly foreshadow the coming events. ![]()

I bet they will play the Shepard theme in a few bars if he is brought up. Considering how they used the Vigil theme in the trailer from E3, I kind of expect more of that, really.

I doubt it'll be the main theme, but it'd be nice if it was included somewhere given that Vigil is one of the only songs that plays in all three games, and not necessarily when Reapers are involved.

If the trailer is of any indication (near the end) there will be a remixed version of it. I approve of this. Keep the basic but modify to create something new while retaining the original core.

I'm sure a new version of it will appear in the game. I just hope we keep the signature ME music thing (I have no idea what to call it) that plays in the original game theme, spectre induction, end of ME3 etc
I'm also hoping the opening of the game has a new version of the original Mass Effect theme and we get an updated Uncharted Worlds for the Galaxy Map.

Uncharted worlds needs to return for the galaxy map screen.
Anyone suggesting otherwise is guilty of heresy and must be dealt with accordingly.
It should be the only mainstay throughout the entire series (soundtrack-wise)
