Can the PS3 transfer game+patch data to a USB drive? DAI related.

For the last gen version, there's a glitch where audio gets severely messed up for basically the rest of the game if you enter the Black Emporium. This glitch only appeared with the last patch. I would just avoid the patch then, but I want to still be able to import a custom world state (and you can't connect to the keep without all the patches). So I'm thinking that I could copy my current patch (patch 7) and game data to a USB drive, update to the latest patch and then import my world state, then delete patch 8 and copy patch 7 back to my PS3. But I don't know if the PS3 allows this, or if DAI will recognize a patch that was transferred off of a third party item.

Is this possible? I'm not asking in support because I know that's a dead end. Much easier to just ask here to see if my idea of copying my patch 7 off of a USB will work.

Not that I know of, if you do this you'll most likely be getting a message that won't let you open your patch 8 save on a patch 7 version, cause it's not updated, I'm having this issue after patch 8 came out too, so I recently started a new game and thought i might be able to leave the game in "vanilla state", with out any patches, only black emporium installed, then when I booted the game up again as you know i wasn't able to download my world state, and trying to load previous saves from before deleting the patch didn't work. I'd say overall it's just best to avoid patch 8 all together, not only does it have the BE sound bug, but also in my xp it has increased considerably the sound stutters and lags, also there is a lot of textures missing specifically in Emerald Graves, all things that weren't that way for me before the latest patch, ohh and also blackwall, vivienne, and iron bull freeze constantly during combat, the only way to get them to un freeze is by making them jump, this was also not happening to me before the patch.

It would be great though if maybe Bioware could take patch 8 off the psn servers and put patch 7 back up, so that we all could just go back to that and play "easily" with out as many issues as right now, but considering how supportive they've been with us old gen ppl lately, i won't hold my breath....it's pretty clear they don't give a sh*t anymore.

But I can't avoid the patch without also never being able to load a world state again...

I know, that's what makes it so frustrating, we can't even start new game with out it, so my gues is, patch and avoid BE until some one fixes this or you get the game on pc/current gen.
