Sebastian is the most funniest character of the franchise.
(Basically my reaction to both ME3 and DAI ending)

"Leliana retrieving her head without any logical explanation" is not much better.
Killing animations are not canon.

Still, she was dead, she is not mage, the Urn had dragon blood and it heals only wounds not death, her explanation was basically "I revive just because the writers wanted it"

Unless there's something more at play that we don't know about yet. Considering the fact she was the ONLY one of the companions to ever star in her own DLC... I think there is more than meets the eye.
I also have some suspicions but I won't go into them here.

Writer's pets survive death even when they shouldn't and provide nothing meaningful to the media their present in.

It's Liara symptom nothing more

You didn't PLAY Liara in Shadow Broker, she was a companion just as Morrigan was an objective in Witch Hunt. We were specifically shown her point of view. There was no need to do it since we had the base story, and I don't remember any clamoring for it, and despite your comment about "writer's pets" they aren't going to produce something that won't sell.

The only real reason to retcon the death of such a replaceable enity is to simply fulfill the whim of the writer. Nothing less, nothing more.
So ultimately the question is-What purpose of character does the pixel collection serve? The answer?
As far as I can tell none.

In fact she can die in the beam run if you have Low EMS.

The Resurrection is merely a facet of the Mary Sue qualities of the character, no I was pointing out that both are writer favorites.
Hence Liara syndrome

People seem to throw that term around without actually knowing what it means:

If Leliana was a mary sue, you would never be able to disagree with her, softened Leliana would always be divine, and no characters would say anything negative about her.

I'm indifferent enough to both to call out faults.

Leliana fan I take it? The lump of pixels was tossed into DAI because it was a writer favorite, fulfilling a position any other character could have.

What does my like or dislike of Liara have anything to do with this? Yes, I like the character, but about the same I like the entire bunch.
I never saw a huge MUST play as Leliana, must have Leliana back crowd while I was here. I may have missed it, but I don't think I did.
The only real reason you can see for it to be because she's a "pet". Generally writers don't do these kind of things on a whim because it does open to criticism. You're not going to do that in a AAA game unless you've got a good reason to do it.
Plus it's not like resurrecting a character is uncommon in fantasy. Gandalf comes to mind, and he doesn't have the excuse for being exposed to metric tons of essence of magic. One of the few of that damn dwarf's valuable lines is that the guardian spirit's continued existence may have more to do with the obnoxious amount of lyrium. And we've had characters brought back from death (Wynne and I think Evangeline as well).

Not rly, you just keep teling yourself that but that are no rules and pretty much she is quite fitting into definition you give us.

Sauron after all who is also a lesser Ainur as well even survived the destruction of his physical earthly essence in his ring.
The spirit survived and that's what's immortal to beings of the dawn of days.
Beyond that: it was a whim and Weekes even admitted he liked writing Leliana and before him Gaider also gave the character inordinate amount of favor.
Simply put there is nothing inherent in the character itself for it to have relevance.

That's really convenient because as I remember, bioware had stated before that they wouldn't prove the Maker's existence/inexistence.

They haven't proved him real or unreal, they still throwing evidence on both sides and to be honest, I doubt they will give a definitive answer, people are too susceptible, you see, they'll try to avoid any political controversy that they can.
