Broganisity, thank you. You have made my life complete with that video. I don't think you realize how happy I am right now.
No no no, you don't realize how happy I am. I've been wanting to use that video for something for awhile now. ![]()

What completely baffles me is why the hell did they change the most perfect run animation from ME1 (especially for a female)? It was neutral and natural and looked like a person. When I started playing ME1, I thought to myself "Yes, someone finally did it, run animation I can actually stand."
and then..... why, just why'? I cried a little inside when I imported my character in ME2, and cried a little more when I started ME3.
She's not a princess? She walks like a princess. What is the problem?
My only hope is to get female walk in cut-scenes. God was it painful in DAI to watch your character walking with Cassandra, who were strolling like a lady and your tiny delicate elven girl stomped as a gorilla on steroids. I'd say they fixed well enough general walking style and now it's time to remember some do play females and update that outdated library of cut-scenes movements.
I want them to walk as if they aren't powerwalking to get to the bathroom before they poop all over themselves. A normal walking animation is fine, a normal jog is fine.
Lol I noticed this in Mass Effect 3, all my Character will wear is tight leather pants so it looks like he's having a hard time running, his legs do a semi circle while he's running. Looks like he has to take a giant poop.
Femshep walks like a sexy beast in ME1, bring that crap back!
Started a thread on this a couple years back. I made the suggestion of making certain species move and walk more uniquely. Asari would obviously move most similarly to humans considering their anatomy. But I suggested the dog-legged species (Turian, Quarian, etc) should have a slight bounce/spring in their step (akin to the aliens in The Arrival-starring Charlie Sheen). Krogans could be far more lumbering. Aliens in general need to start seeming alot more alien or BW could atleast make slight changes to their body language that helps differentiate them from being humans with a different coat of paint.
Of course my thread was derailed by those that think it was a stupid idea because BW "has more important things to worry about". Well, of course they do. But the little details go a long way.
watch it at 1.25 speed for mroe glory.
Lol 0.5 is also hilarious.
I'm roleplaying a bad arse female bundled with a high functioning brain. So the walk should reflect the character.
It hopefully will be unique.
Oh and could you get a female soldier to do the mo-cap for the female player character? Mark Meer said the mo-cap for MShep was a special forces guy (and Shepard's infamous dance was what he came up with when asked to dance) but it felt to me that the same wasn't done for FemShep's ME3 walking/running animation, it didn't feel like it was based on a real person

A real person? Please. I've never seen a woman walking like that, no matter how womanly she might be, with her delicate wrists swaying back and forth, with her breasts up in her face, like she's frolicking on a meadow. That walk/semi-run is insulting.
Then we have the gorilla run, but I can forgive it, because it looks like they only made it to look good when in armor (and when she's in casual, it looks like something's missing, it's especially noticeable with shoulders and how slouched they are).

This would be great and I think outcome on the animation would be best if this method was used. I guess it's just up to Bioware to decide if they want to use resources in better female animations... I really think they should ^^

If the gorilla run stops my sidearm from clipping through my Femshep's arm over and over again, I'll gladly take it over whatever the fuсk that runway walk nonsense is.
Houston, my sides have liftoff
It is as if they took the complaints about gorilla run, & then fixed it by making the normal run even worse in comparison. I ended up simultaneously holding w and my sprint key at all times, basically settling on gorilla run because it was preferable. ~~sigh
Did Shepard have a walking animation in Mass Effect 3? On the Citadel and the Normandy, I remember Shepard jogging... well female Shepard seemed to skip. But did they have a walking animation? I will not be able to play Mass Effect 3 for a long while so I cannot check.
There is, sort of. If you ease on the toggle/whatever and have Shep just walk at a slow pace like NPC's, it's a fairly neutral gait.
