I think they should remove all romance completely.  90% of the whining on this forum is about stupid video game romances.   Go watch days of our lives if you want silly drama.   Games are for killing stuff and having fun not fantasizing about pixelated women and or men

Hey don't get me wrong. I started my first game... my very first game in Mass Effect without any ROMANCE at all with Jane Shepard. Having options is great in this game no other games out there goes deep into such weird and creepy details

  I guess it helps also that people who are only interested in killing things get the lion's share of the content in the game anyway

Yes!

My male protagonist should be able to end up with a harem of human and asari babes. If BioWare gives us that option then I'm all for marriage in ME:A.

I can see it now... a macho N7 dude with quarians and some other alien chicks. Not to mention the amount of controversy it will generate... but hey... atleast my religion permits such polygamous marriages though I won't do it in real life... I ain't a rich Arab man with oil ;_; and there's the issues of support, succession and god knows what.

And that is why your religion is the fastest growing religion right now. ;)

Oh absolutely... there was one case that this 60 year old guy freaking converted/reverted to Islam just so he can marry a 16 year old girl and escape criminal persecution. Freaking A although my city refused to convert them and issue a marriage certificate due to the fact that coverting/reverting is not a joke... they were successful in acquiring such in another city. Made me sick

Women can get married at the age 16 where you live? Dayum. 16 is the age of sexual consent over here but you can't get married until the age of 18. Sometimes I think that age should be increased to 21. Even 18 years old people are often still children for the most part.

No they can not. We have 2 laws in my country one is HUMAN LAW and the other is DIVINE LAW only applies to Muslims. I am from the Philippines actually and this country is dominated by Catholics yet they recognize us still I have no idea why rebellion exists... I am taking a guess at poverty and extortion. Anyway no 16 year old marriage is illegal or abnormal... the rule here is 18 years and above even then, parental consent is a must. Though there are tribes yes we have tribes who practice since time immemorial marrying 16 year olds.

What's disturbing is that these 60 year old and 16 year old did not come from our tribes or were muslims... they were... you've guessed it... non-Muslims.

now to be fair, these kind of marriages has nothing to do with Religion rather on CULTURE. different acceptance and behavior there are still families here who practice such and there are families who no longer follows such but these couple did not even come from our lands.

I'm in Scotland and people can get married at 16 here, though I think you need to be 18 south of the border in England and Wales, the age of consent is the same as ours though(16). Personally it doesn't bother me, if the law says that you're capable of being a parent at 16 then people might as well be able to get married then as well.

Yeah, I'm sure there'll be time for that since we're a special agent-type guy helping determine the fate of humanity.

Special agent guy? we already had him before... his name was SHEPARD. This "guy" is not an agent but a path finder and it's not only the fate of humanity that his is going to determine in Andromeda

Don't need em, they already look pretty cringeworthy in The Old Republic. The more these request come in the more that Bioware Dating Sim becomes a reality

come on guys... these are all optional. Mass Effect is pretty flexible... if you want it to be a serious game it can! I played as Jane no romance before and it was my first time playing ME. I had her tell that stupid guy "START TALKING OR I'LL CUT YOUR BALLS AND SELL IT TO A KROGAN" and when she died... I cry everytiem ;_;

then my second playthrough involved John Shepard romancing Tali I also cryeveritiem ;_;

I think having Marriage will be a really great optional addition to the game but then again, it still depends on Bioware if how and when they are going to implement it. I just hope they are reading this thread.

Well I think everyone has a different stance on this, but if it were up to me romantic relationships with squadmates can be lowered down a bit.

I would actually prefer it if they actually had a life of their own instead of  gravitating towards the main player.

What would be a great option is that you can actually meet someone at certain spacestations/planets/locations and opt to start a relationship with them with no consequence for the main narrative.

In the end I hope Mass Effect will get back to what it was to me, which is a nitty gritty war story for survival where you depend on your squad-mates to get the job done and when you talk to them they like or dislike you and you know a bit more about their backstory and maybe get to know  their specialism for some mission

Well technically there is a dating sim of DA2 that's actually a thing. Buggy as all hell but pretty funny. :D

If marriage suits your LI it could be an option. To be honest, I would have liked it if my shep could have married (bonded, whatever) Liara. Should a character constanly say that marriage is bad or something, well then that person is not going to say ''Yes, I do''.

Heh, amusing.  Now we're reducing all combat gameplay to a "murder sim" as justification for including marriage?

Not necessarily. Note: I personally have no interest in marriage in Bioware games and don't want resources spent on them that might be used on other features I want.

But I think the point is that even if we were to classify Mass Effect/Bioware games as a dating sim, the weights still fall far more heavily in the "go around and kill things" category. This can be traced as far back as Baldur's Gate 1.

What it comes down to: calling ME:A a dating sim simply because marriage was added would be even less accurate than calling it a murder sim, since at least the latter typically makes up a much greater (and typically mandatory) part of the Bioware experience.

Actually, no.  I'm demonstrating how ridiculous it is to call a game with romance options a "dating sim" given what a small amount of the content it is. (ie, it's more combat than anything else)

I do agree with that.

More importantly, MelisandreShep would've agreed with that back when she was my total no-romance game.

weird? creepy? stupid? or a must have feature? I mean... we can basically kill our squadmates for neglecting them, bang almost each one of them at the same time, have same sex relations. But uhhh do you think this is even possible?

well...to be fair Skyrim allow marriage if I am not mistaken

Now don't get me wrong... I play wargames all the time but over the past years this franchise made me soft... welp time to go to war with ISIS and die like a dog to reclaim my manlyhood.

Well, I'm sorry, but that picture ticks boxes weird and creepy for me. Seems kind of pointless to be honest, but more than anything just cheesy as hell.

But to be fair, if it's there as an option I'll simply not take it and be happy. I may also have to avoid all Youtube recordings of the scenes just to maintain a certain level of respect for the game.
