Only games that I've seen marriage done slightly well imo have been in the Rune Factory or Harvest Moon series and in some of those getting a family is kind of a large focus so can't really compare it to something like this. I guess maybe some of the Rune Factory games are closer but not 100% only ever played three of them and one of them the main main story doesn't start until after you get hitched and have a child.

You know... the design of the Quarian helmets is not very practical. What's the purpose of those metal flaps surround their blinking speaker light? A suit they wear 24/7 shouldn't get in the way. Reminds me of wearing a gas mask, the filter bumped into everything.

Why are the face plates tinted? That seems like an odd choice. Loss of facial expressions can be debilitating for communications.

Well, I'll stop here. Wouldn't want to derail the thread.

How do you know the metal protrusion isn't itself a housing for a filter analogous to the one on a gas mask, especially considering that Tali and other quarians mention them having to change various toxin or sensory filters frequently? Further, the suits obviously have aesthetic design choices. What is the practical purpose of colouring it purple and putting swirl patterns on it? Or making it form fitting instead of just desiging it like our own EVA suits and freeing up more space for wiring and mechanical systems?

Face plates are probably coated for the same reason that the ones on real spacesuits are, radiation. These people live on sometimes 300 year old ships, where hull breaches or maintenance issues involving contact with dangerous elements are a daily possiblity.

I do. Killing the geth Heretics is the morally superior choice. Discuss.

I'm saying there was no story to it, the result wasn't exactly a marriage and without all that... it's just not worth it. Frankly, it was disappointing.

Why do we need marriage anyway? If my PC and their LI commit to a partnership, then that's good enough for me.

Well I don't know to be more authentic perhaps? more bang for your bucks? more options and features? more hidden dialogue? increases replay value and life of the game entirely? more walkthroughs?

Now this suggestion is only a suggestion. It may be a serious wedding or a just a shot gun wedding for the sake of player choice an it pretty much depends on Bioware. If ya'll want a real love story see Final Fantasy VII,VIII,X and soon XV

Maybe they could have it as a Romance completion or something. With your character promising marriage to their LI after they beat the crap out of whoever is starting crap in Andromeda.

Yes, and they can show a picture of their LI to the team, "Look, it's my sweetheart. We're engaged and she's waiting for me at home. After this war is over, we're going to marry, settle somewhere in the country and raise our kids."

That's going to end well.

or they get kidnapped by vengeful Andromeda natives and gets murdered in front of you for making wrong choices. To make matters worst you either have to save them or abandon an important mission killing your crew... DECIDE

easy choice. ME singleplayer combat is stupid easy, so the only member of your crew that matters is the one providing the snu snu.

Of course, after you get +100 renegade points for sacrificing your crew, subsequently grow Sith eyes and your face falls off, your waifu leaves you anyway because you're ugly.

Actually I seen the trailer and I don't think we start crap in Andromeda. They shouldn't be attacking us outright because we decided to pay their galaxy a visit lol

You can have a marriage, but no romance.

Reminds me of BG2's Bohdi kidnapping your lover and turning them into a vampire which you have to kill and then cure of vampirism. :P

This is just reminding me how much I oddly want to have a squad mate who is already married.

I actually find the married woman the most attractive and enticing to me, so I would be all for this.

Maybe by the year 2300 we will have realized what a stupid and pointless institution marriage is.

Besides, next we will want gay alien marriage and all of our Enkindler based galactic cultural morality will be destroyed. Next, people will want to marry Varren! Or an Omnitool! It's a slippery slope.

Or maybe there will be differences in opinion on social norms just like there have been for the other 7,500 years of human civilization, and no one will inherently be "stupid" for following them?

Also, ME takes place in the 2180s. For perspective, humans still had legal, institutionalized slavery in the Western world 170 years ago. I doubt marriage would go away so easily considering it is overwhelmingly the social norm today.

This post made me laugh. Actually that would be kind of fun! Hahahahaha

I still wonder where all my ME1 credits went when in ME2...damned Liara spent it all!

In all likelihood it was confiscated by the alliance or inherited by shepards mom, since you were presumed dead, and then they didn't give us our millions back when shepard turned out to be alive.

The used us being with Cerberus as an excuse not to give it back to us because they had already spent it and couldn't afford to return it to us lol

If it fits that particular Romance, why not? Different Resolutions to the Romances beyond "We'll bang, okay?" are a good Thing.

Indeed.

As an option, why not?  It could make sense for some romances, and not others.

Agreed, if it fits the theme of the romance there is no reason it shouldn't be an option.

If you read the rest of my post, you would have seen how obviously laced with sarcasm it was.

But that would require you to actually think before you post, so I wouldn't want you to put too much effort in. Especially when you lack all semblance of a sense of humor.
