Fun fact: that crap is happening to us now except there are already less and less resources. People are dying... Children all over the place... relationships and marriage held considered as a sacred "gift". People from different society thinks differently... sad to say majority of my people are well... illiterate.
Yup. People will die. That's nature. ![]()
Knowing if the two of you are sexually compatible before you say "I do" is often a good thing.
Absolutely. Few things can destroy a relationship quicker than discovering that the two of you differ in terms of frequency, intensity, and experimentation.
Better to "destroy" the relationship before things are legal in that case, or, at the very least, have some time to reach a middle ground beforehand.

Fun fact: We have plenty of resources to feed everyone on the planet. The resources are just in the wrong places.
I would like it, but it shouldn't be a feature for every romance, and if this is to be a trilogy like the Shepard trilogy, it should only be with the companions that are prominent through out the games. For example, I could see it happening with Ashley, Kaidan, Liara, Garrus and Tali, but I can't see it happening with the other romance options because they don't play a huge role, companionwise, in two or more games.
What I'm saying is, the relationship has to be built around the long experience of being with one another. One game, unless it spans several years like DA:2, wouldn't allow for that relationship to develop enough to warrant getting married.

We plan to. Condoms, the pill, the pullout method, and a combination of all the above certainly help.
As for premarital sex in the United States? Well ...
So that's already about 16.1 million people who wait, and that's just one gender in one country. A country that is pretty fine with premarital sex, no less.
There's no problem, I just find it extremely wack. Do you honestly think that in the 23th century people would still stick to those old-fashioned outdated religious values considering that even today most people already don't?
Yes, yes I do. Steve Cortez was married but his husband died, so clearly marriage still exists. And as long as there is religion, there will be people who follow the beliefs of that religion.
So, there is no evidence whatsoever of marriage going away anytime soon in the Mass Effect universe.

Taking a stab in the dark, India.

Wouldn't recommend relying on pullout. One of my religious friends relied on that (he also was one of those "I don't have sex before marriage"-types yet he had plenty of sex) and he eventually knocked up his girlfriend which got him into deep trouble with his religious community. He quickly married his girlfriend after knocking her up in the hope no-one would find out that he knocked her up before marriage, but everyone knew what really happened.
So that's already 15.86 million people who wait, and that's just one gender in one country. A country that is pretty fine with premarital sex, no less.
The US is about in the middle in that regard. Check out the other link I posted.
It's also less than 5% of the population.

yeah... one problem we face is that these are considered as "sins" because it promotes non-stop 24/7 sex and diminishing of values and morals though I agree with this which is my own personal beliefs... it really is almost impossible or you have to be really noble to resist sex before marriage, it can make people insane. Problem is... if you have premarital sex and had a freaking accident... you get an unwanted child, the country suffers, the family suffers, the child suffers... also considered as a sin.
Unless it's literally on the rim of the sphincter of hell or Rand McNally scorched all record of the place, I'm sure some of us have heard of it.
here you go, they've taken over my home land... peace and order problems, illiteracy. Welcome to my country and ENJOY
P.S. we are moving away from the main topic that is marriage

I wasn't talking about marriage going away, but about the fact that less and less people stay true to the "no sex before marriage" nonsense.
Not in BG2. Aeirie and Jaheira will break up with you if you do have sex with them in the romance.
Okay in ToB Aerie ends up changing her mind (and winds up pregnant), but you do eventually get married
It's left up to the imagination what exactly happens in the FtB in KOTOR
You don't have to sleep with Leliana or Alistair in DAO to complete their romances
I believe the same applies to Blackwall and DOrian in DAI. And with Josephine, it's again left to the imagination.
Edit: There is no sex scene with Solas either. But I don't know if that's left to the imagination or not
But yeah being able to complete a romance arc without (necessarily) having sex would be a good thing. Heck options in general are good things.
Same goes for Mass Effect 1 by the way. I got ninjamanced by Liara in my last playthrough (didn't want to romance anyone). She came to my cabin and I sent her away. In ME2 import, she was flagged as romanced.
EDIT: By the way and just for the record, I only now read the last two pages and apart from the fact that this really got out of hand quick, some of the posts here are really horrible, IMO.

Yeah, relying solely on pullout isn't the smartest direction to go, but it's another measure when paired with something else.
I'll, uh, avoid elaborating further.

I saw it. That's why I put that the Us is pretty okay with it.
So? I said millions upon millions of people wait. The info you provided about one gender in one country has already proven me right.

I still don't think it will go away. There are still millions upon millions of people who wait, and there is no evidence in the MEU that it has changed.

Wait, If I get married and it doesn't work out, do I lose half my stuff?
Because it takes awhile to max out those URs.
My Talon X becomes a Talon V 'shudders'

Why shouldn't it be for all LI's? What makes the names you posted more important then the others?
See, that's exactly why we come over from all the way the MP section to troll y'all...
Beause while you're looking at white dresses in boutiques and attend little canapé testing events, we converse about how to kill the enemy the most efficient way, with the biggest explosions possible.

They're also kinda not okay with it, though, much less so than many other heavily populated countries.

Where is this "one gender" information coming from? The pictograph, which comes from this site, isn't talking about one gender.
3% of Americans, period. 97% of Americans don't, and that's a relatively divided country. Waiting is, therefore, extremely rare.
