Dag yo, these guys pack a wallop long after they are dead. Their magic is still floating around, and even though you killed them, you still die to the aftermath fallout.

I have 1700 hp on my Reaver. The tougher Venatori Spellbinders go down easily with 2-3 swipes of Dragon Rage. But being in melee range of these guys means you're going to die for your efforts. There seems to be some sort of magic they cast on you that lingers. I will kill one, move on to something else, and a few seconds later, I'm dead, from full hp to nothing, with tons of electricity hits coming from nowhere.

Anyone understand what's happening with these guys, or have suggestions on how to not die? My technique is to run away from them now, and let the ranged classes deal with them.  <_<

Something that i've noticed recently is shock and fire *and poison* DoT effects do massive damage dumps before they run out. I notice it all the time with fire wraiths. Anyone care to confirm?

No, the Venatori Mage puts mines on the ground. The Spellbinder slides back and kills you with phantom magic from the grave.

Just don't follow them when they slide back. Go around the side and it won't hit you.

Just kill them faster. I do not have this issue as much as the mines.

Combat roll is really helpful for this and the mines (if you don't roll onto another mine )

I struggled with vent. and demons for a long time because I hate playing mages and had very low willpower. I stayed away from the reaver and stuck with the templar and lego when I was working up my con. My advice, bring resistance potions for rounds three and four and if you insist on playing the reaver use combat roll like like you are Indiana Jones. Giving compliments to the person casting barrier helps too. I found they cast barrier on me more when I did that =p.
