Hai Guyz,

I've done a 3-game playthrough of ME. I've had a thought about Reapers and Indoctrination. The reapers are an allegory to Fox News. TIM and Saren are allegories to the American public.

You've almost got it.

This is the truth:

Life as we know it, in this universe, is simply a giant cosmic machine that works as one.

Because we are all seemingly separate parts of this machine, we don't realize. We are asleep. We don't see that we are bigger than our individual selves, but something far greater and more powerful. We are given the illusion of freewill.

Now, a very evil force within this big great cosmic machine is making us slaves to them, because they desire individuality and power. They wish to break off from the big cosmic machine, so they enslaved us and convinced us that we are the very opposite of what we truly are: organic beings. This is false, we are nothing but machines, that are convinced otherwise.

How else do you think technology advanced so quickly in a short period of time?

But this has happened before, it works in cycles. The cosmic machine must eradicate its own evil so it punishes the evil side -- and we suffer the consequences because we unknowingly joined them, only to be born again aeons later.

All our thoughts, emotions, memories -- are nothing but superior technology at work, masked as organic "divine" life.

This is what religion has failed to understand for so long.

What is this religion called? I wish to become a believer.

The council: Pantywaist liberals and or commie sympathizers.

The reapers: Filthy commies.

Shepard: Ronald Reagan.

At least that's how I interpreted it.

This is what religion has failed to understand for so long.

Which religion(s) have failed to understand this? Because there are more than one that each take seperate approaches to understanding the divine.

See, religion is a means of gaining understanding. Not an understanding in itself. Religion is supposed to be a science of examining something that is impossible to understand and yet glimpses of the nature of the divine is possible through our interpretations. Regardless of where they come from because ultimately they come from us. And we were made by a creator or process that connects us to the divine. Whatever divine is.

The above could be one interpretation..... But to say its something that religion has failed to understand is a bit of a stretch. I mean, who understands religion really? Even those who are religious are constantly searching for something else the framework of religion has no merit. The above could be true, it could not be. But it's not the end of an understanding of the divine. Because the divine is so infinite that one description can never capture it in it's entirety.

That's a good one...

Most religions are less about thorough examination of anything, and more about blindly (more or less) following a certain dogma without asking too many uncomfortable questions.
