Since the last update I can't either use the Origin overlay nor invite friends for MP. Obviously the option is enabled, I've also enabled it for all games.
My friends are also experiencing this, and it has only happened so far in ME. The overlay appears in DAI. Also yesterday it worked perfectly.
same here. Last nights update seems to have messed up the overlay in ME3.
I'm having the same problem, my friend as well.
The day before yesterday in worked fine. I can only asume this has something to do with the Origin update I had to install before starting todays (planned) gaming session.

That said, the real secret of (EA game) happiness is to disable Origin in Game. It screws with everything else, so I just save time and hassle by keeping it disabled.
Well IMHO, this forum is as good as any for help with this issue since the EA Tech Support pages are absolutely worthless!! An Origin update a week ago broke the Origin in Game feature in ME3. The last Origin update failed to correct it. It is no longer possible to communicate/text or invite friends in MP. It is a widespread issue. If anybody knows of a "fix" for this, this would be a great place to post it.
It's never worked for me.
If you still want to play with your friends, have one of them host a Public game with a very specific combination (preferably on Plat), and have everyone search for that combo.

Yeah, but this is Looking for Group, so I doubt that anyone who might be able to help with fixes or workarounds is reading here. There's also a thread in Combat Strategy right now as well.
i got origin but sadly i don't got the game on the PC platform so i wouldn't be any help, you should try googling it too so what shows up.
Everyone, or most people ive come across has the issue. Nothing to do about it. invite ppl from friends list by alt+tab.

Roger that. More a rant about EA and Origin. Agree with Croptus that the Alt +Tab is really the only option at this point. Do think it is relevant for all these folks trying to find groups to play with and the primary mechanism, ie the friend list, is broke until EA fixes it. Maybe. Hopefully. Maybe. If they even know. If they even care. Maybe. Hopefully.
Turns out EA is aware of this bug and will fix it in a future Origin build -- hopefully NEAR future.
Just got an origin update, in game is working now on me3mp.
i thought it always was <.<
