Yes, I posted a thread about it on the Origin forums. Predictably, no reply and it got buried fast under the gazillion people have bazillions of issues with Origin...
The problem being that many of those issues are those that were there from the start. The overlay problems are fairly simple according to the traces I've run, but since the Origin devs don't acknowledge the possibility of any other overlay running at the same time, they will certainly never be fixed. If one doesn't start with the correct set of use cases, the software will never fit the purpose. I guess they never expected Origin to be used by gamers, or something 
I also remember that Origin in-game overlay used to **** with Msi afterburner and you couldn't ever tab out of the game if both were running. So I disabled it and never looked back.
ISTR that it makes a difference whether you run fullscreen - switching time very long to infinite - or in a borderless window, which worked at one stage.
Since Afterburner is nearly as buggy as Origin, though, I ditched it too.
