It's been confirmed by the devs that MP will get an (Deep Roads-themed) expansion.

Yet, Dragonslayer was also released more or less at the same time as JoH.

The only question remains whether the Deep Roads theme is for either or both, and I wanna remind everybody of Aaron Flynn's (?) response in the Kotaku Q&A, to someone who asked whether they would be able to take the Inquisitor to the Deep Roads [etc], to which he merely replied "It's funny you would say that..."

I don't know. Aaron Flynn's remark might have related to the MP DLC.

Seriously, though, the SP side of things is seriously getting the short end of the stick. It's infuriating. If they continue on this route going forward, I'm done.

I've got nothing against MP, for those that enjoy it, but the world did not need yet another MMO. SP, on the other hand, filled a niche in a way nothing else could. I'd hate to see that go, but if that's the way of things, then there's only one thing left to do: sigh and move on. I'm not going to throw money at a game I don't want. If I'm mistaken and they do stop neglecting their SP fans... I guess we'll have to see if that ever comes to pass.

@Darkstarr11, you're right. MP can't sustain them forever. I only hope they don't kill the franchise finding that out.

People always point at NWN as an example of MP vastly outstripping the SP content, but NWN had something DAI does not: a toolset. It survived precisely because players became builders and created persistent worlds. With no DAI toolset, that's not going to happen.

8 months and 1 story dlc sucks. I've rolled so many characters but it's getting kind of boring now, but I do love this game so much! C'mon more story.

I hope the next DLC you can talk to your companions/advisors, unlike jaws of hakkon.

Yeah, this present bunch of characters is going to be my last. The same thing happened with DAO and DA2. Eventually, I can't stop feeling like I've played the game too many times, and I move on. It isn't that I hate the game or anything, it's just that my desire for it is sated. Previously, the next game would be announced about that time, so there would be that to keep me interested in the series, but this time, that doesn't seem to be happening.

I don't mind re-playing the main story. But I can't help but collect every shard, kill every dragon, do every side quest I see. So it can burn me out big time. I have made another character but i'm struggling a bit to play her.

Dont know, Dragonslayer(5th May) and JoH (24th March) are rather far apart I would say

@Jeniva: I feel your pain. I'm a completionist, too, and I've already got 9 completed playthroughs. I'm running several simultaneously at the moment in an effort to keep things fresh, but when this last batch is done, I will be, too. Of course, that means that i'll be returning to some unfinished modding projects, so maybe that isn't so bad.

I get what you're saying, but to be honest, i find it commendable that bioware wasn't thinking about DLC at the time of the release. Too many games come packed with Season passes way before the publisher even knows if the game will sell and how much. At least in the case of DA:I we know that at the time of release they weren't holding any content back, not saving anything for DLC packs, we got it all.

I would argue that from day 1 they were planning a DLC on the post credits scene. either that or it will be in the next game, but I'm not sure where the next game is going to be set or if it will have anything to do with the events of inquisition.
Perhaps they just planned poorly?
Or it would seem they thought the MP would take off more and have released a lot more for that. I've not even touched the MP

@berelinde  At one point, I would have scoffed and said that 'OF COURSE they'll remember that SP is the heart of the game'...now, not so much.  Also, Bioware HAS an MMO.  The Old Republic.  If I wanted to play that (and had the time) I'd play it.  I like having a good single player game.

I'm sitting at around eleven unfinished games.  Why unfinished?  Because I'm waiting for all the DLC to come out.  I just...if I KNOW that the game is incomplete I DON'T want to finish it because I don't know if it changes the mission to complete before OR after specific events.  With the limit on how many saves we can have on the consoles, I feel somewhat frustrated.  I have finished the game mind you, just not with most of my files.  I like to do everything possible.  The fact that they are NOT talking bothers me.  Have they abandoned SP but just don't want to say so yet?  I mean, I figure after November its all going to be about Mass Effect.  They'll be ramping up towards the reveal of the new protagonist, the companions and the like.  DA will fall to the wayside as the press jumps on the ME bandwagon.  So as it is almost AUGUST I figure that they've got ONE SP DLC possible between then and now.  Plus this fall, there are a plethora of games being released.

Bottom line, HAS the DA team moved on to the next in the series ALREADY or do they still have something left in the bag for the SP campaign?

There's nothing apart from what you see in the op links and this leak  http://www.eurogamer...ition-story-dlc.

They are concentrating on MP content.

Wonderful.    MP is a distraction at best for me.  I applaud those that like it, but it doesn't have the appeal that ME MP did.  Even that faded.

I'm NOT holding my breath on the SP then.  After all, they CANCELLED Exalted March and folded into Inquisition.  Considering how long THIS is taking, it wouldn't shock me if they did it again...

Just like to say that the SP feels way more like an MMO than the actual MP does. The latter rather reminds me of a third person view Diablo.

I also don't think they are giving the MP more active care than the SP, it is just way easier to release little detached things for how the MP works. Also, we've had one major content update (in the time MEMP had like 4) ever since release.

Yeh, DA:MP isn't my thing either, ME3 MP was fun at the beginning, but i didn't have time to invest in it.

They are certainly taking their time in terms of SP, there were all those discussions when they release the second spoils dlc, and as long as people are buying don't be surprise if they release another one.

It has become pointless talking about this matter as long as bioware doesn't seem to care, so as you said don't hold your breath.

If they are seriously going to take another few months to do a DA STORY dlc then i'm going to start my witcher game that has been sitting next to my ps4 looking at me longly.

Ugh, the Blight's over, move on from the darkspawn.

Unless we're dealing with Wardens I do not want to see anymore darkspawn. ....Well, maybe if it has something to do with Corypheus.

First it was Solas and Qunari rumors, now its Deep Roads and Darkspawn?

At first I did not see the harm in MP in the game even played a little myself but now I feel the extra time spent on Multiplayer has taken away from single player especially if you compare the timeline of past games in the series and the content that was released in the same common time frame of 10 months, because August is around the corner and unless something comes out by friday I will be using Nov-Aug to display content that has been released.

DA:O - Nov-Aug

1.Warden's keep:November

2.Stone Prisoner:November

3.Return to Ostagar:January(PC&Xbox) March(PS3)

4.Awakening(March)

5.Darkspawn Chronicles:May

6.Leliana's Song:July

7.Golems of Amgarrak:August

DA2 - March-January

1.Exiled Prince:March

2.The Black Emporium:March

3.Class Item Pack:April(Cosmetic)

4.Legacy:July

5.Class Item Pack 2:August(Cosmetic)

6.Mark of The Assassin:October

DA:I - Nov.-July

1.Jaws of Hakkon:March

2.Black Emporium:May

3.Spoils of Avvar:June(Cosmetic)

4.Spoils of Qunari:July(Cosmetic)

5.Destruction:December(MP)

6.Dragonslayer:May(MP)

Notice I did not even bother to add feast day stuff for Origins. No promo content for either games was added either and I even had to add the MP DLCs just go give Inquisiton a fighting chance. Origins put out 7 story DLCs in the current time span not to mention one of the 7 was a expansion. Dragon age 2 the rushed game in the series still put out more content even if you discount the launch day DLCs there is still 2 story DLCs and we all know why a 3rd never came to be but it was in the works. Now Inquisition which was suppose to be the saving grace of the series has a grand total of 1 story dlc but yet 2 cosmetic and 2 MP DLCs. And yes i understand those are easier to make it still does not compare to the fact Origins put out 3 times as much DLC content 2 twice as much if the Day 1 DLCs are not included and a full expansion. Not to mention September is right around the corner which is when Witch Hunt came out. Not to mention the lack of communication of future content the fact they started the series strong pumping content into it then slowed down to this makes no sense. That extra effort in MP could have gone into the reason anybody bought the game in the 1st place, Story Content. The amount of times this game has been pushed back from its original release date its a shame at the amount of content being put into it especially if it is considered a success.

I don't think it's coincidence that every Dragon Age game has ended with a final battle against a power connected to the Blight.

DAO-The Archdemon

DA2-Meredith with the red lyrium idol (which we now know is corrupted lyrium)

DAI-Corypheus

The darkspawn will always be the true enemy of Thedas. Other villains may temporarily step to the forefront, but in the end, it always leads back to the Blight.

Didn't Mark Darrah say that the new dlc will have new follower content? I don't remember what page it was on, but there was a tweet in the Twitter thread.

:P  Not new follower, but more content for the followers. I don't know if this means all of the companions or just Solas.

I'm dying for some Solas closure for my poor elf quis.
but still would like a few convos off everyone else, especially as I romanced different companions on different characters.

I wonder if there will be a punch solas option.

I am okay with Deep Roads if done correctly.  The Fade in DAI was actually well done...this time...and proved to be a high point.  It wasn't the WHOLE mission either.  First was Adamant, THEN the Fade.  If they split the Deep Roads into part of the story mission, it could work out well...instead of the slog that it was in DAO.  Also, I want Ohgren or Sigrun to show up.  More Sigrun...and lets get MORE Harding in there.  Citadel added Vega and Samara as LIs.  Can't this next DLC do the same for Harding?  Hmmmm?

How MUCH new follower content?  Again, I'm looking at Citadel as an example.  Seriously.  While it may have dropped the ball when it came to Ashley, the rest of your team fared pretty well.  We got to spend a little time with EACH companion...we got to hear Tali sing in all her off-key adorkableness.  Um, but...no to the singing...I don't need a duet of Bull and Blackwall, thankyaverramuch...

Punch Solas?  My ElfQuisitor is going for the 'broken nose' option...or a swift kick.  You can guess where...most likely preceded OR followed by excessive cursing.  Lets EARN that Z rating, shall we?
