To clarify more. What happened with D3 was that blizzard did not stop hacking on the console. There was uproat on their forums as well, people would say that since they bought the game, they can do anything they want with it. The results was that blizzard never did anything. Hacking was so rampant that the community dwindled and died. It was a good game with much more content and dlcs, however the community died. No one cared anymore since the time they put in ment nothing.
Just an example, karnage, I don't mean to antagonize you since you seem very reasonale. Anyways, you said that u put 16 hrs in yesterday and got stats. What if I said someone just input a code into the game system(less than 10 seconds) and got all of the stats you worked over 16 hours for AND the hakkon bow? And then he came into your game and just one shot everything. I don't know about you but I would be very upset. If it was real life, I would come over and slap the icecream right out of that guy's hands.
AHUH!!
Great points!
Nothing you've done or said had antagonised me Bearform, our discussion has been insightful.
I was unaware of D3's issues on console.
Quit it on PC due to constant nerfs on my real money gear. Hopefully BW IS aware and fixes their mistakes.
How would I feel?
My friends have the Bow and rub it in all the time whilst one shotting everything! lol
I would probably kick a random if I could discern he was bogus. I'm not generally an emotional person, certainly not jealous, but I do judge so I'm more inclined to just flip it off n not join his games.
I do have some good friends who I play with daily and if they were to leave then I probably would too.
Funnily enough my greatest xp explosion came from the purchase of a mic and meeting those friends: 100+ promotions n all my gear thanks to them.
I've been a pro at Halo and was hated on for not being on leaderboards but systematically destroying top players. What they didn't understand was that I played upto 8 player LANs regularly and knew every inch of every map.
I think my overall point is that I'm not too concerned about what people outside my little bubble are doing so long as we're having fun. But I am concerned for the future if D3 has set a precedent.
Hopefully BW do read this and take stock on how the community is shaping, the lessons of D3, the demographic of their player base and do set things right.
I would even sacrifice my 30 promotions if it ensured the future of the DAMP community and this beautifully flawed game.
