Anyone else watched this thing? I remember it was supposed to be the "Making of" video. While I did not epect any great viewing experience coming from it, after watching it I must say, wow - what a bunch of self-dill-sucking. The makingh of dvd didn't say jack about the making of ME 2 - and this is coming from a ME fan.

Yes I was disappointed too, it was mostly stuff we have already seen online. They did talk about making the sound and the music but that was about as far as "Making Of" it actually got.

I was kind of expecting the Art of Mass Effect videos...but no they aren't on there. Apparently you have to buy them on the Zune store, sigh. Rather lame bonus DVD if you consider it should be for people who want to find out more about development and behind the scenes work rather then a semi-promotional DVD included with the product they are promoting...at least the comic and little art book make up for it a bit.

Hmm, thanks for the info. I might just order the regular game and get it tomorrow instead of having to wait another week then. Is the art book any good? Does it have comments etc or just err, art? Are there any ME2 outtakes on the bonus dvd like they had in the DA:O one?

The art book is like spoiler central. Not worth it, imo. Neat, but don't look at it before beating the game.
Honestly, the think I liked most about the CE is the packaging, which was sweet. LOVED the way the Cerberus card was attached.

The art book does have comments and I would recommend getting it cause its only $10 extra and I think the special case alone is worth that, but thats just my opinion.Ammonite wrote...

Whoah, thanks for the warning. It would've definitely been something I'd look at while waiting for the game to install otherwise.

Heh, I didn't think this thread would help, but I'm glad it did nonetheless
The art book wasn't really worth it IMO. The comments revealed little (only one fact that's not mentioned in the game, which you might just learn in the wiki anyways), and the art were mostly of the final concepts. So, it's not like you get to see some exciting early concept they put together that never made it into the game (like the Fallout 3 collector's edition).
I agree with Homeless Cheese though, the only upside was the tin case. Matter of fact, I was surprised at how small the package was when it arrived. The entire case was made of paper (the harder kind they use for containers for games), and inside it contained one hard paper case for the tiny comic and the art book, and one tin case for the DVDs. So basically you have one big paper case, and two separate cases. The extra content (aside from the "making of" DVD which was actually in the tin case) weren't even in the tin case - but I must confess, I don't buy collector's edition much, so I have no idea if they should be in tin case too.
The whole package was the size of two regular 360 games stacked together. I'll let you draw your own conclusions on whether it was worth it or not.

The wallpapers are all wallpapers that are available online. Nothing new.
The art book is really good, not enough to it but its great.

I was hoping they'd include a 360 disc w/ the 360 version and do it up in HD. I was disappointed. I was also disappointed in the content.
The art book was nice, but as with anything, people have to approach both the book and the DVD with cautiousness given.... YAR! THERE BE SPOILERS IN THEM THAR WATERS!

The bonus DVD was pretty lacking compared the the one for DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS.

Anyways, so back to what I was saying (since I was curious about that in the first place) - if you don't mind telling me - (I don't mean "you all better get back on topic"), did anyone else find the "making of" DVD sounding pretty much like self-stroking and just a patting-ourselves-on-the-back-the-whole-time DVD?
