As there is a huge divide among players that cheat and don't cheat, perhaps the leaderboard needs to reflect that. What if the names of all that have benefitted greatly from the cheat are removed from any participation in it and the list of players on the board is increased by 100+ slots, so that those who play honestly can have some idea of who they want to play with.

Yallegro,

I'm sure I don't want to know what comparisons you're making, but that post will offend most everybody.

I think he was not trying to be offensive but was Highlighting the fact that you would be branding players cheaters thus alienating people, which is something Biowae and EA are not down with......

Medallian,

I think plenty of people here are advocating for cheating that they are now branding themselves, no? My input is no longer required. My suggestion has to do with consequence for breaking rules, nothing more.

Whatever the intent of posting offensive material is, it is still offensive, hence it will offend. At worst malicious, at best thoughtless.

I see you're still whining about the exp bug and the leaderboards. How's that working out for you?

Cirvante,

I see you're still whining about threads addressing the leaderboard issues. All good on your end, I hope.

yeah I can defiantly see your point, and to an extent I do agree i was just saying I got what he meant by posting that picture, not something I would do personally  since it is very touchy subject.... but I get his point

as far as cheating goes I am neutral on the subject as I see both sides of the argument that's been going on on the forum and I do agree with points on both sides but it does seem those who are firmly against are a little extreme

Medallian,

If Bioware said cheating is not okay, then there is only one way to play the game - or should one go against what the developers said? Yet people continue to glitch.

its not a cheat its an inherent bug in the game it happens randomly, while it is something that can be force it also happens at random so I don't feel its a chat it is  a bug as stated by the devs., many people don't read the forums and many non ranked  players do use it...a lot, and people are getting back into the game, because of it and it is bolstering the community, on the other hand I do understand the sentimentality of those on the leader board... so I will say like I have said before I am neutral on the subject, I just play damp and damp accessoies

Just for clearing things up

Most exploiters are probably just people like me and you that saw an opportunity to get a lot of exp and gold and jumped on it.

No different if money was falling from the sky and someone grabbed a wheelbarrow

They did not hack anything, this is all Bioware's fault for even making it possible

This does not in any way mean that I condone excessive sploiting in any form

As in regard to the Holocaust, I will continue to make light of it until I discover a mentally healthier way of approaching the theme

I will be serious enough when another one happens

Thank you for admitting you are cheating. Most people are flat out denying it. I do however still advocate your ban.

Yallegro,

In that case why would you care what the leaderboard reflects? I am offering a suggestion that allows both groups to continue playing, and those that feel the leaderboard should reflect some gaming integrity will be placated, no?

Medallian,

Bioware said to not use this glitch, in case you missed it. And they are also looking into the matter. From what I recall of the missile glitch in ME3, it took the developers a month or so to address. In that version the glitch itself was not fixed, but players who used it were banned.

The fact that you liked the above post should make me dismiss you as a mediocre troll.

Personally I can't make sense of what the leaderboards reflect, nor can many other people.

Some got there by being good, other by being active, other by farming techniques and tons and tons of people are only up there because they happen to be friends with a hardcore player who carries them through everything.

Outright ban or removal seems harsh if you consider how ambiguous leaderboard presence already is.

The fairest thing to do is to simply remove the promotions from confirmed cheaters, but I don't know if they can simply do that.

Why would you just take away the promotions from confirmed cheaters?

If confirmed cheating, wouldn't ban be commensurate with the Tos?

idk what they can legally do

I think the message "exploiting our glitches comes to nothing" is more than a tad better than "exploiting our glitches results in heavy ban, regardless of who you were before you spotted this super-easy, super-tempting glitch"

While I agree that people shouldn't be exploiting, removing them would just punish smaller player bases. And if they remove people using this exploit, would it be fair to ignore those who used the old promote one? I understand why people don't like it but it seems rampant enough that some playerbases might not survive the rage quitting.

Yes, banning is consistent with the terms of service and would seem a simpler way to go than trying to surgically remove ill-gotten XP.  That is, of course, if they do anything at all beyond attempt to fix it.
