If the flotilla doesn't fall into a civil war in ME3 I'll be honestly surprised. During Tali's loyalty mission you get the chance to talk to the head of the admiralty. One is on the fence and doesn't know if they want peace or to go to war with the Geth. Another flat-out wants peace (which seems to annoy Tali to no end) and the last, Xen I think was her name, wants to start making NEW geth or find a way to take control of the current models. If you
manage to earn Tali's innocence during the trial without forking over her father's research/the evidence of what he did, Xen is not happy with you. The email she sends makes no illusions about that.

So what I see happening in ME3 is this:

On one side you have the Quarians behind Xen and the admirals that want to take back their planet. They want war and to flat-out destroy the Geth. Xen uses the research of Tali's father as a basis and develops a v2Geth and several viral weapons to try and take control of or destroy the current, v1 Geth.

On the other you have the Admirals that want peace. Thanks to the revelations of what you learn from Legion they are willing to 'live and let live' with the v1 unified Geth (again, depending on choices you made with Legion) and based on the choices you make in ME2, are willing to work with the v1 Geth. In exchange the v1 Geth would give this faction of the Quarians their home world back and maybe even help them revert it back to the point Quarians could live there without suits.

Somewhere in the middle of all of this is Tali. Maybe if you convince her to help Legion she'll be on the side of the peace-faction. If not then she would be with the warmongers. As an ultimate 'super happy sunshine' paragon outcome, if Tali sides with the v1 unified Geth, upon returning to the Quarian homeworld you discover that the Geth never destroyed the ancestor archives; they simply backed them up into the collective. It would make sense in that the Geth would be flat-out stupid to destroy that much data and experience.
As a thanks to Shep and Tali (would require unifying the geth and getting Tali to help Legion) they 'upgrade' the ancestor archives so they posses true sentience and Tali is able to talk with her mother, family, whomever. It's a
bit saccharine but it would be a nice ultimate paragon good-end. Then the Quarians co-exist with the Geth on the home world or they just leave it to the Quarians.

The signs are there for this to happen in ME3. C'mon Bioware make it happen.

I foresee this as a possibility, but also perhaps through persuasion (and the presence of Legion on the flotilla during Tali's mission) may plant some seeds in the minds of the Quarian people - hopefully leading to a better result.

Does taking Legion to the floatilla make it impossible to get Tali found innocent without giving them the evidence? I didn't have Legion when I took the mission but from what I've read no amount of paragon choices can stop it with Legion there. It makes sense considering what she's accused of.

That is an interesting thought. Would bringing Legion to the flotilla--which I'm glad I did--have an impact in ME3?

I brought Legion to the flotilla with me and used renegade choices, Tali was declared innocent.

I'm sure the quarians know they can't really afford a civil war. Plus I believe if they go to war with the geth they will get curb-stomped.

Thanks for the answer. By the time I picked up Legion the mission for Tali was long since completed so I couldn't see for myself. Apparently the quarians drop a element zero brick and there's some pretty interesting dialog, lol
