The women of Thedas are generally badass.  You'd have to break it down in categories.

Demi-godesses:  Flemeth or Andraste

Warriors: Cassandra or Aveline

Rogues:  Sigrun, Leliana, Isabela, Sera

Mages: Clarel, Wynne, Morrigan, Merrill

Flemeth gets my vote as THE MOST badass female in Thedas (and she may BE Andraste)

Good list. Not sure about Clarel, though. I had to laugh at Erimond's comeback when she said he destroyed the Grey Wardens.

"You did that yourself you stupid b***."

xD

Clarel was clearly really baddass at fighting given what she did to Erimond, despite being apparently very foolish at decision making. I suppose she did get lucky that the Red Lyrium Dragon didn't bite her in half but she also still stunned it badly enough that it tumbled over the edge of a cliff.

Stunned is a understatement.

I'd say it was more like she gut shot it with what would have been a mortal wound for anything beside a red lyrium infested high dragon.

"Archdemon" pretty much owned her ,she got shoot because archdemon ignored her and gave her good position to attack ,nothing that couldn't be done by any mage dying under dragon body.

Her only feat was that she overpowered Erimond but then considering that guy prefers flee rather than fight i wouldn't say he is one of the finest warriors to put it lightly.

Clarel basically blew up herself in her attempt to hurt the Red Lyrium Dragon, not sure if nearly useless suicides are badass, where did I see something like that before?

Chiaotzu blowing themselves up in a similar futile attempt to take down Nappa in Dragon Ball Z?

Or Riordan's il-fated leap of faith to take down the Archdemon in Origins, forgetting he's not an Assassin's Creed character?

Both badass... and both, sorta useless.

You mean riordan?

I wouldn't even compare them, riordan gave actual archdemon not bad run while flying on archdemon through the city and archdemon didn't even scratch him ,he died pretty much falling along with archdemon from the sky.

While Clarel was demolished by red lyrium dragon and all she did was casting spell on dragon when she was dying under it.

Ser Cauthrien was pretty badass... she was often harder to fight than the Archdemon.

No, I meant dudes from other franchises who made little to zero difference with their suicidal death: Chiaotzu, Jorge, Valera, Aida, Carlini, every stupid Grunt on kamikazee mode... just to mention some dudes, while some of them were badass in life, the ways which they died were definitely useless, non badass.

A Dragon who cannot stand flying is a good difference compared to a Dragon able to do so.

Well you could always try high velocity combined with dense metal slugs.

Spoiler

In my experience that tends to work very well.

Ah, but are we certain that she wasn't Mythal/Andraste who became Mythal/Andraste/Flemeth?

"And she came to me..."

Meaning, there was a time when Flemeth was just Flemeth, and only later did she become Mythal's faithful helper.

They haven't been together since the dawn of time as you dream it up to be.

Hate to admit it, but on the Historical/Mythical characters category Andraste is more badass than Flemeth, she had to be double crossed to be taken down, while Flemeth has been beaten down on a fair fight.

Do not mock grunts dude,  grunts are certainly badass and their suicides have killed more players than Coryshit himself.

Sebastian

He complains like a little ******, but he still being straight male and he is not badass.

talking about that, I am not even sure where should we put characters like maevaris or krem, i think they have some badassery.

why generalize? flemeth is the only of them who has come back and she is not the only dead character who revived.

Leliana is no warrior, but being a spymaster that everyone finds frightening is just as good.

Bwahaha

No, not only no but she doesn't even do that.

Also spymasters themselves are generally the least important part of any spyring, usually nothing more then mere paper pushing intermediaries between the higher ups and the spies themselves. Hence why they can be replaced easily and the ring still function.

I would contest the assertion that Clarel's sacrifice was useless. Had she not struck the red lyrium dragon, they would have had the Inquisitior and their party cornered on a little bridge. Not the best defensive position.

Huh.

Are you saying the spymaster isn't the one in charge?

Even if that ridiculous notion was true it wouldn't be Flemeth.

Hey, I'm just having fun with that. Ridiculous notions are all a part of brainstorming. I can count of folks such as yourself to say, "Nah, that wouldn't work!"
