While I was puging this evening someone offered to set up a double gold/exp lobby. Politely declined of course, I'm not into exploiting game systems.

Is there a lot of this going on on PS4? I wasn't aware the exploit could be recreated on PS4 systems.

I can tell that this happens a lot on PC. It can be recreated effortlessly. It has been recreated for two weeks and it will most likely continue to be recreated until the next patch comes out (or beyond, in case the next patch doesn't manage to fix it). Presumably the same is valid across all platforms.
Bioware has expressed their disapproval when it comes to glitched lobbies as well as the possibility of having accounts being banned due to glitch exploit, but for now those are seen, by some, as mere words on a forum page. Glitchers won't stop unless serious action is taken.

50% of the random PUG games i joined this weekend was a double XP lobby. The top people on the leaderboard have gone up about 300 prestige levels in a week or 2. I've had people literally tell me that they glitch every lobby just to keep up to the rest of the leaderboard.

 

At this point i've stopped leaving glitched lobbies. With half the games being glitched i just don't care anymore. I'm not actively going to glitch lobbies myself but if i end up in one, sure, whatever. I don't care anymore. I just want to play the game.

Yeah I always run my own lobbies, probably why I haven't come across the glitch. Shame people feel the need to use it, hopefully the next patch will fix it.

The glitch does not generate double gold only double exp. It looks like it gives you double gold and challenge completions but when the match ends you aren't actually given them. Just some knowledge to help

I do that most of the time, but when i only have time to play 1 or 2 games i prefer to join an already full lobby.

I'm going to plead the fifth and then say that when I first encountered this bug and posted about it 3 or 4 weeks ago, I noticed that while the gold doesn't count towards challenge completion, it definitely counts for the gold you can spend at the store.

It can double the gold of the first game of a glitch lobby but not afterwards. Unless it is different across systems

While I cannot speak to the glitch gold I do know that on Xbox One if you set your matchmaking to a "random" map then you will not get credit for any gold collection toward any of the starting 3 map challenges. You seem to still get credit toward the 1 mil total challenge from what many have said, just not toward the 3 mil you need (combined) for the old maps. This was posted about at one time, but there are a lot of people who still do not know this.

 

For the 2x glitch I would think it would be easy to see if you got the gold or not, after all you are talking about 2,000 to 3,000 gold a map approximately depending on difficulty. (Most probably playing Threat or Peri) However, if one of the players with experience in a 2x lobby would be so kind as to clarify how this works that would be appreciated...  or maybe  is more appropriate. lol

interesting, i never really measured after the first game. i would say i will investigate, but i'm a southern gentleman, so instead i repeat: Interesting.

Helios2216 PS4. I've seen all these new names passing me It's crazy. Some of the top names stopped playing but they are being replaced by cheaters which is a shame.

 

Why not just make double xp permanent/new norm for all and cap maximum xp that can be rewarded at any level. It's a temporary solution but one that could work.

 

If anything this is Mass Effect all over again.

As it seems to be clear here in the Euro-zone...or at least in the matches I've dropped into.

The glitch lobby is not nearly as rampant in pugs for me as it seems to be for other people. I know the leaderboards are awash with it and a lot of my friends too but I'm playing less because i'm a little burned out atm and waiting for new content. Though I still probably play a few hours a day at the very least.
