Hello everyone. I want to distribute a mod I made for online play / persistent world as well, so I decided to make an hak out of the files I made for the single player version (in override).

Just putting all the files from override into the hak did not seem to work, my guess is that .xml files cannot be added to the hak and must be converted into something else first, but I may be wrong. (Since this mod has only .xml files and scripts, and scripts seem to be recognized with no problem.)

My questions:

1) Do scripts go into haks?

2) Do .xml files go into haks?

3) If not, how do I put custom UI into hacks?

4) TLKEdit 2 allowed me to make a new hak file, but is it a proper tool to make haks in general or does it have some limitations I'm not aware of? (Note: I don't care about the best tool, I just want to know if this one will cause unforeseen problems)

5) Can I put all the files into a single hak or do I have to separate each type of file with a different hack? (for example one for the scripts and one for the UI)

Did you associate the hak with the mod? if not it may not find it.

As far as xml's go they can be in haks. I use nwn2 packer when making hak pack and have had no problems, have never used tlkedit2 for anything but tlk and 2da files.

Yes, I did associate it with the module of course.

I guess it's a problem with TLKEdit 2 then, I'll try out NWN2Packer then.

No need, thanks. I got it working now with NWNPacker 2. The problem was the TLKEdit 2 program.

Also I have a new version to upload of that mod so there would be no point.

One other thing you may want to do is separate the xml's and the scripts. put the xml's in the hak and the scripts into an erf so builders can import them into the module

If this is designed to integrate into the game interface and work with any module or campaign, then I think you'd want the scripts to be in the HAK (or the override folder).

I put everything in one .hak file and it worked just fine, even with the override folder cleared.

I use NWN2Packer v1.9 all the time and it seems to work fine. Is there any benefit in switching to v2.0?

Same here.  I didn't even know there was a 2.0.
