I'm working on a story and I really like using words that standout from the norm and I especially like using architectural terms to really describe what is going on with a particular room's appearance. I know I could search wikipedia for hours...days most likely but I was wondering if anyone knew of any unique terms or even local/regional slang (like "weald") would help greatly.
EDIT: by habitats I am basically referring to geological terrains or areas (i.e. "tundra", "knoll", etc)
