Is finishing Varric's "Tales of the Inquisition's Agents: Book 1" going to be worth it?

What would you like to see in it? :)

The problem that typically arises when building the table for the unique chests is that we can't just give Hakkon weapons to someone who has been playing for 4 or 5 weeks. We usually attempt to split it based on what you're loot score is at but as you can guess it always leaves people that are just under the next jump very upset (1 item could be the difference between a Hakkon weapon and a level 18 epic for example). The other option we have is to just pick some of the top accessories and build a big chest of those and set them to only drop if you don't already have them.

Lots of options but I suspect no matter which way we go some people won't be happy with it - such is the way of the chest -_-

6 Superb Rings Of Life Drain, one health potion and one Highland Dirk.

In all seriousness, I just want a VERY high chance for at least two purples. Basically, think of it this way: If I get this in a chest, will Billy hate me? if the answer is yes, put it in the pool.

At least you are able to add that sort of logic to the chests. I remember an ME3MP Biower guy posting that the purchasable packs could only be purely random, which of course means the potential of never getting an upgrade.

Would it be possible to make a separate loot score formula for chests you really want people to get an upgrade from? Just something that kicks it up a notch. You guys did already raise the loot score cap, didn't you? Is it high enough for people over nine thousand power level?

Of course, you could always do what ME3MP did on occasion and give us a unique banner, icon or title. Not this time, I suppose, since it already says "Chest."

Speaking of which, we need a better way to find the ones we have unlocked. I am sure you have noticed searching the challenge stars is a little silly.

The accessories pool idea is a good one. I play all my characters so I would be happy with a weapon from any category, but I would imagine some people don't.

I don't know if you could rank them: "If a player has X and Y, award one of these."

I can't recall exactly how you changed looted armors recently, I know I read something about it, but giving an armor for a new character or an upgraded armor for an unlocked character could work. It'd just be tricky to lock out sidegrades.

Unique banner would be pretty cool though. It wouldn´t be interfering with game at all, but would be attractive reward.

That or Varric bra.

I guess what everyone mostly wants is something they don't have yet. For some people that means a hakkon weapon, for other people (we know who) that will mean a purple HoK ring. And for me that would mean a crit chance ring cause i accidentally salvaged it the other day :X

This! Like that chest that gave 1 dragon weapon that was not in the players inventory couple months ago (based on item score) ..made my morning opening that chest.. I guess for me right now it would be one of the two remaining Hakkons to complete the set.. :-)

I predict that chest 5 will be a purple weapon for every chapter you completed. All level 8-10 purple weapons.

No superb cool down amulet after 9 months of playing. Found one last week. Found 2 back to back after NM dragon yesterday. I really hope the final chest drops another one. They stack right? CDR is like the most important stat. At around 50% I can be in permanent akarat's champion.

There actually is a much better way to search those, though you can't actually set the banner, but at least you'll know where to find it: Hq.dragonage.com

For me the only reward that'll be worthwhile is a hakkon weapon, really. I can imagine there are plenty of people who can be made happy with (a) unique(s) they don't have yet, but since I pretty much almost have every high level unique item it would be so anticlimactic getting 1 or 2 uniques that are no/hardly upgrades to me. They'd merely be new additions to my big collection of purples I have no use for. :)

Could it award a token or schematic for an item of choice? or just the item of choice?

Gate things using the current chest score system for example, or whatever criteria you are comfortable with.

Then just allow us to pick the item from a list.

You already know the answer to this one, Luke.

Practically the entire forum already knows.

So, I don't have to say anything.

But I probably won't get it, will I?

:(

If we're talking about things that will never happen, getting a token that raises your odds of getting a Hakkon weapon drop up to 100% would be fantastic. It would gate people who can't handle Nightmare while rewarding people who are grinding for their first/last one. Or being able to trade 10 unique items in our inventory for 1 unique item of our choice?

If you get one, I'd be fine with it, but I'd be a little sad to get one for myself. They're terrible for salvage :-(

How about for those who are high enough on the loot table that an unclaimed hakkon weapon be awarded, but for those who aren't there yet, an unclaimed Dragon weapon be awarded (a max level one, not a lvl 12 or something silly like that)?  Add to that a purple accessory (or two), maybe a single purple armor, some random salvage junk/potions, and I think that's a pretty good (possibly too good) chest for a multiple week challenge.

Why not partition the rewards? Have a high Loot Score? Hakkon Weapon. Have a middle of the road Loot Score? Purple Accessory. Have low loot score? A chest with a rare Dragon Weapon, or a larger amount of rare and common items.

I predicted in another thread that it would be a lock of Varric's chest hair in an amulet.

You could put in a brand-new unique item (not necessarily that) that is then added to the normal loot table for others who missed it.

As someone who recently started up a new profile on XB1, I can relate again to the pain of player progression.  While promotions are one thing, it is the waiting and waiting for at least some decent unique weps and accs that hurts.  Also, receiving a number of level 10-12 uniques is kinda disheartening.

Anyhow, if you can tweak the Superb chest a wee bit to increase chance of newer players receiving at least L20 uniques soone than later, that would be awesome.  Not asking for a silver platter here.  Players still need to pay due diligence.  Considering the 2000 gold cost for a superb chest, and how many established players would rather speed run than collect gold, you can see how newer players may suffer somewhat in buying chests as much as we'd like.

With how readily available the dragon weapons are to those with high loot scores, I wouldn't have any issue with a guaranteed dragon weapon given to people with low loot scores if you guarantee a hakkon weapon to those in the upper tiers.

I would see this as being worth the effort for everyone involved to finish all 5 challenges in a row.

Surely the important bit is 'only drop if you don't already have them'.

It'd also have been nice to be able to make up missed challenges somehow - five consecutive weekends just isn't doable for a lot of people during peak holiday season (or in my case, peak travelling for work season).

But never mind. If I can manage it, I'd love my first superb HoK ring (yep, there are more of us out there), but salvaging my fifth <insert thing loads of people want, but I already have because RNG> would just be a let down.
