- Please for the love of god, STOP SPREADING FALSE RUMORS. It's so annoying, is that seriously why you bought a headset, to gossip on a video game like a bunch of little schoolgirls?
- Don't revive a teammate who's in the dragon's fire/electricity DoT, or is attempting to crawl back to safety from a choke point before he actually gets to safety
- Speaking of that, choke points and line of sight are important
- Kill every Ice Witch (despair demon) you see, immediately, at all costs. Any other course of action is suicidal. Venatori mages are similar.
- If you're going to join a Heartbreaker lobby, at least bring a level 18...
- If you join a Nightmare lobby and you see an Arcane Warrior and a Legionnaire... bring a class that actually does damage... NOT another bloody arcane warrior the team doesn't need
- There's nothing wrong with playing Routine/Threatening/Perilous if you cant take the heat in Nightmare. You have no idea how many times a group of 3 well rounded players have just been completely dragged down by one person who doesn't belong there in the first place.
- Promote your level 20s. If you need a level 20 just to survive in higher difficulties, no amount of grinding for Hakkon weapons or what have you will actually change that.
- If you expect people to come to your Keeper for barrier, then Keeper is not the right class for you. It's the Keeper's job to move their lazy rear end over to a player whose health is low and help them.
- Same as above, if you don't want to barrier anyone besides yourself with your Elementalist, then don't spend your points on barrier in the first place.

11. If you are a newbie: don't come to perilous (and above) with a level 1 + starter armor + shitty weapon (you'll be in the fade within 3 minutes of Zone 1 - were is the fun in that!?) - learn your ropes like we all did and stick to the difficulty that suits your gear/promotions/playstyle - if a friend wants to carry you - fine, but in pugs: NO!

I swear... the other night it was me and some people with twice as many promotions as me, on heartbreaker... then this pug comes in with level 10, starter armor, probably inquisition weapons...

I hear ya ...
I could give them the benefit of the doubt: maybe they were just curious - try it out, see that it is way beyond them and after that go back to routine/threatening...
but it happens sooooo often ![]()

Something to add to this - don't rush to kill Despair Demons that are far away and not attacking. Focus fire on the aggressive one, not the one that is on the other side of the map far away from your team, taking a walk.

I don't think theres anyone on here who doesn't know all this stuff.
That said, yesterday someone tried to revive me while i downed by a fire dragon and still in the middle of the fire. Not only did the revive fail, he also died. Good fun man, those pug matches.

Seriously if you're a newbie to this game, stay away from PUGs:
1. add a high level player (those who promote a lot and have shiny gear) in your region to your friend list;
2. get carried to earn XP and gold (glitched double-XP lobby preferred);
3. promote like crazy;
4. ???
5. profit!
I feel sorry to write the above, but this is pretty much how the game works for now.

Stop killing my pet! Respec'd my Necro to try out spirit mark & had to respec again because the whole team were trying to kill the non-aggressive former bad guy
Stop spamming the "get over here" button when everyone else is fighting, if you want us to revive you/open treasure rooms, wait 'til the all clear.
& Finally, stop opening treasure rooms when everyone's fighting, unless you can absolutely 100% handle it.
Ok, I'm done.

I know it's from southpark but:
4. Buy the 2000 gold chests in the shop like crazy and try collecting at least some dragon weapons that way.

Besides the fact that AW's with Pull of Abyss and Fadecloak do more damage then most classes everything on your list is helpful.

Last pug on NM OC was playing AW.
We ran past a warrior door in the middle of a fight. AW stopped n spammed "come here"
We ignored n kept fighting, jumping down into the large hall to take care of RTK's.
This idiot then jumped up onto the rail above us and continued his spamming.
Then.... Bam!
He gets instagibbed by RTK's bolt!
After a short mic msg we all ran up to him n triple Tbagged him!
He rage quit for some strange reason

I disagree with the OP about the keeper. If you need barrier to survive then stay nearby. The keeper has a responsibility to move but so does the other teammates. Teamwork is essential esp in NM.
Correct. Of course it's the job of the Keeper to cast her barrier around the whole group, but the group has also the job to stay together and next to her, so that doing her job is possible at the first place. Characters like the Avvar or the Katari, who like rushing towards the enemies, should first: wait for the Keeper to give them her barrier, and second: know when to retreat and return back to her, when the barrier ends. You need her support and she needs your dps/protection. ![]()

Please for the love of god, STOP SPREADING FALSE RUMORS. It's so annoying, is that seriously why you bought a headset, to gossip on a video game like a bunch of little schoolgirls?
What is a false rumor vs a rumor vs reality? None of us knows.
- Don't revive a teammate who's in the dragon's fire/electricity DoT, or is attempting to crawl back to safety from a choke point before he actually gets to safety
Go ahead and revive if they are just laying there, you will get multiple revives. At times your revive window is very short it's now or never. I do agree in principle though.
- Speaking of that, choke points and line of sight are important
This one is a bit too obvious, just group points like this into one 'don't play dumb' category and most pugs certainly at least know choke points.
- Kill every Ice Witch (despair demon) you see, immediately, at all costs. Any other course of action is suicidal. Venatori mages are similar.
Agreed about the despair demons however I have seen groups wipe because they ignored all else to fight through to the ice witches.
- If you're going to join a Heartbreaker lobby, at least bring a level 18...
I don't play heart breaker but 18 is not really necessary if the person has the main attributes they need from a class, game experience and great gear.
- If you join a Nightmare lobby and you see an Arcane Warrior and a Legionnaire... bring a class that actually does damage... NOT another bloody arcane warrior the team doesn't need
So you berate the players coming into the lobby about this but not the existing players in the lobby?
- There's nothing wrong with playing Routine/Threatening/Perilous if you cant take the heat in Nightmare. You have no idea how many times a group of 3 well rounded players have just been completely dragged down by one person who doesn't belong there in the first place.
I can take the heat in Nightmare I just find it a boring slog fest to be honest. It's a pure grind in most games unless you have a really good team.
- Promote your level 20s. If you need a level 20 just to survive in higher difficulties, no amount of grinding for Hakkon weapons or what have you will actually change that.
so you need to be between level 18 and 20 to play heartbreatker then? Levels 18 and 19 only?
- If you expect people to come to your Keeper for barrier, then Keeper is not the right class for you. It's the Keeper's job to move their lazy rear end over to a player whose health is low and help them.
This one is funny and oh so stupid. Please put the blame on the proper person here. I say WAY more instances of players running off so quickly that the poor keeper cannot hope to keep with them to add barrier and if they do they have to run into a mob to do so. You don't have to just stand there and wait for keepers but a LOT of melee types are running ahead of the group so fast the keeper has no chance.
- Same as above, if you don't want to barrier anyone besides yourself with your Elementalist, then don't spend your points on barrier in the first place.
so the Ele should just stand around and die?
Overall you sound like the type of player that wants every one in the world to change their style to suit you and your class. some of these comments are telling.

Just saying: I refuse to sacrifice myself to give barrier to a single person that wants to solo everything when they can't handle it. I will stay back and give it to myself and people near me, then drop a static cage/firestorm (depending on which character i am playing). I don't need your help to kill things, especially when you are dead

If you have 3 high-end players, then why is the room set to public?
If you set the room to public then PUGS will be players with their own set of expectations and that may not line up with yours. IMO don't set any expectations on the PUGS. All I ask is try to stay alive long as possible and I may not be able to revive you so be warned. A PUG may come into a run without the expectation of completion but completing a zone or two which gives them more xp than running a lower difficulty. They maybe that stubborn player who will die all the time but want to feel like they play in the toughest mode. If you are a strong team with level 12's characters why would you expect PUG to expect your going to complete the run regardless of your true capability?
You may want to try to talk to the PUG early on or really feel like there is no getting through then kick the pug. The PUG etiquette is it is a public game and they can do whatever they wish. Set it to private once you get a pug if you need a 4th.

Does number one refer to anything in particular or is it an objection to conversing during the game?
And regarding the Keeper: I like playing support but if you rush ahead I'll either assume you know what you're doing or are suicidal and I won't follow. Same with opening the treasure rooms and getting clobbered.

This one is for the established players who have great weps and accs. If you do not wish to collect gold, at least allow other players to do so.
You probably don't remember what's like to have the crappy stuff and grinding away, collecting every precious bit of gold to buy chests (which often give you more crap). Please keep that in mind for new players, which you were once upon a time. It would help if you started up another account and started over; you'd remember the pain very quickly.
