What I don't care for is having to run to each vase.
BW, it has been requested before, so I request again: please change vases to "shoot n loot n move on." (Ranged) When we shoot the vase we simply receive the gold and can move on. Granted non-ranged will still have to walk right up to the vase to smash it (maybe you can have CQC characters simply look at the vase with strong intent for the same effect as ranged units). It simply saves a bit of time, and when you really need the gold and another player is impatient and teleports you...

If you set the room to public then PUGS will be players with their own set of expectations and that may not line up with yours. IMO don't set any expectations on the PUGS. All I ask is try to stay alive long as possible and I may not be able to revive you so be warned. A PUG may come into a run without the expectation of completion but completing a zone or two which gives them more xp than running a lower difficulty. They maybe that stubborn player who will die all the time but want to feel like they play in the toughest mode. If you are a strong team with level 12's characters why would you expect PUG to expect your going to complete the run regardless of your true capability?
You may want to try to talk to the PUG early on or really feel like there is no getting through then kick the pug. The PUG etiquette is it is a public game and they can do whatever they wish. Set it to private once you get a pug if you need a 4th.
What?
I mean if you have 3 good players and you can't carry a noob then why is the room set to public?
That's just dumb
I don't think OP is complaining about not being able to get a completely random game

I know it's from southpark but:
4. Buy the 2000 gold chests in the shop like crazy and try collecting at least some dragon weapons that way.
You don't need weapons, just promote, by the time you reach your 2500 promotions, enemies will flee crying with fear the moment you enter the lobby, you automatically win the match.

I disagree with the OP about the keeper. If you need barrier to survive then stay nearby. The keeper has a responsibility to move but so does the other teammates. Teamwork is essential esp in NM.
I have to concur with this as well. I always play with the assumption that if I want barrier on my character then I go stand next to the keeper; the reason is two fold - everyone thinking the same will go to barrier up in one spot and second is that a keeper who is being surrounded by allies (that is, one who is able to barrier themselves as a primary priority as well as others) is one that will make others survive longer as well.
Another point about the keeper is that I play with a controller and that's fiddly when doing long range barrier casts. In fact, it's so funky that my barrier caster ends up barriering the enemies location instead on a quick cast. When things get hectic, I just mash the button to quick cast but it can end up on the enemy instead on the few occasions.

Thanks for the information. I’ve only been playing DAI for a few weeks but anything that helps avoid problems like these is good. I learned from ME3 not the venture into higher difficulties without an experienced friend and didn’t even PUG gold in that game until I could solo it. I think level appreciation is good advice for any new player and would not even consider going into Perilous or above without a friend.
Speaking of friends, they certainly make the game much more enjoyable and I have to give a shout out to ferrethead for the encouraging words when I thought about throwing in the towel after just a few games, and for the friends and games with Spectr61, SpaceV3gan, Daerist, iamjamiam, KirtheSid and ThatBruhYouDK (duo hardcore with a newb – good times!). I also appreciated the guides from Yallegro which really helped focus what can work good right from the start and on up as one proceeds in the game.
I think one rarely finds kind souls who go out of their way to help the weak in life so those friendships are treasures. I appreciate all the help and great games and look forward to many more.
From a newb’s perspective, I have come across two things that seem quite childless and unnecessary however. Tea-bagging newbs for getting killed (that’s what all newbs do) or those that stand/jump up and down just outside the Zone 5 activation circle is needless idiocy. I suppose every dog gets it first bite but then they are put down or in this case put on the never play with again list. Hopefully, that list remains small.

There are just way TOO MANY AW & LEGO IN NM!!!!!!!!
You know, 2 AW plus 1 Lego is not helpful!
Don't get me wrong, one tank is definitely good for NM, and myself loves using Lego as soon as I got that Hakkon one hand sword, but with 3 tanks, the match is just taking way too long...
And the worst, is when you facing demons, and all the tanks ran ahead and left me an archer behind with all sorts of demons that can teleport... I'm desperately trying to reach those tanks but instead a whole squad of 8 Terrors... The moment I managed to get off the floor with my leaping shot then I get knocked down again by more Terrors joining the party...
And I just bled out and entered the fade yet none of the 3 tanks at the front took any notice....
Personally I have NEVER found a pug game with less than 2 AW in the party.... So you end up having to use AW yourself as well because I really can't survive by myself as an archer or ele or duelist or what ever...
Seriously, STICK TOGETHER! I mean, yeah, fair enough, as an AW you want to stand at the front, but you don't need to go like ten miles away from everyone else yet somehow all the mobs just walk past you and chase after whoever is left behind.
On the other hand, Lego is so much better at tanking simply because he got that AOE taunt skill. And with Hakkons Honor you effectively get infinite walking fortress once there are enough mobs around you.
Sorry above is a bit off topic, but PLEASE CAN WE HAVE NO MORE THAN 1 TANK IN NM PLZ!!! I DON'T WANT TO SPEND 2 HOURS IN A SINGLE RUN!

Please take the 3 seconds out of your killstreak chasing schedule to open a treasure room door. You don't even need to enter it. Thanks.
Hell, due to the way enemies keep spawning after you wipe out the "last" group, it doesn't even really impact clear time to have 1-2 people walk into a treasure room to kill the Revenant/Horror while the others keep on clearing the level.
I don't what is more irksome, new perilous players who refuse to open an obviously undefended treasure room at the start of the level until we reach the end of it because they are scared of spooky ghost monsters, or douchey veterans who go "LOL U WANT GOLD BADDIE?" and ignore it on principle.
Wait, no, I lied, the worst are people in between who rush in ahead to aggro everything, die, spam F4 to res them, and then force transition to the next zone while you are in the middle of fighting a treasure room miniboss.

It is probably better not to have a rigid expectations of how your teammates should or will act, if only for your own mental health. There are just too many variables.
It would help if you started up another account and started over; you'd remember the pain very quickly.
While I do agree with your points, I think the process is even more painful for the time being - don't you have to buy the game again if you want to start another account for MP?

I'm a PUG only player. I play on the weekends to relax and have a good time, so I generally stick to Threatening. I've promoted enough and gotten the weapons/gear to play Perilous here and there.
Because I am playing PUGs on a console, almost no one uses the mics. You have to guess is this a party where we're going to run by all the treasure rooms, open after we clear the level or open them as we go. I'm fine with whatever as long as we consistent so I can anticipate what my mute teammates will do.
Revives is a big issue. If someone went on a suicidal charge and got knocked out, I will try to revive when it practical to do so. If I am playing squishy class, I am not running in there to die next to that person.

It really irks me when three people go into a treasure room, in the middle of fighting a Revenant, one "smart ass" decides to run to the end of the map, ends up dying within five seconds and the next thing you know, you have about six archers shooting arrows up your asses.

This one is for the established players who have great weps and accs. If you do not wish to collect gold, at least allow other players to do so.
You probably don't remember what's like to have the crappy stuff and grinding away, collecting every precious bit of gold to buy chests (which often give you more crap). Please keep that in mind for new players, which you were once upon a time. It would help if you started up another account and started over; you'd remember the pain very quickly.
/On behalf of players that need/want their gold
This is where i get confused... alot!
i assume everyone wants a time efficient run...
I remember when i was noobish (and i still am
the other noobs and i would focus on getting chest, vase, picking flowers and whatever else that would contribrute to the hulk smash player....
Not run to the front with "Oh, he/she is killing everything and not dying, without a barrier or guard, hmmmm.... let me go help and get my kill streak on"
Im sorry to say i will not wait... unless you or/and a buddy are actually opening doors from the start of the round and not trying to kill non chest room enemies theeeeen go open doors..
NM yes (although rare), HB yes (same)
Time is key ( unless you are a slug and using double xp lobby)

Suicide teleporting on FC means we always go for rooms.
Speed runs on Peri means the 1-2 high lvls charge on thru while the lvl 1's pick up pots.
If an Avvar or Katari is involved Archers n Ele's can't keep up so hit room duty.
Expecting these established strategies from random noobs does require communication but they do get quite upset and leave the lobby asap or just exit game when not picked up from the fade.
It would be nice to see a link in MP to DragonRacer's guide thread so noobs had easy access to the how's n why's of everything DAIMP
