Please take the 3 seconds out of your killstreak chasing schedule to open a treasure room door. You don't even need to enter it. Thanks.

Hell, due to the way enemies keep spawning after you wipe out the "last" group, it doesn't even really impact clear time to have 1-2 people walk into a treasure room to kill the Revenant/Horror while the others keep on clearing the level.

I don't what is more irksome, new perilous players who refuse to open an obviously undefended treasure room at the start of the level until we reach the end of it because they are scared of spooky ghost monsters, or douchey veterans who go "LOL U WANT GOLD BADDIE?" and ignore it on principle.

Wait, no, I lied, the worst are people in between who rush in ahead to aggro everything, die, spam F4 to res them, and then force transition to the next zone while you are in the middle of fighting a treasure room miniboss.

No. I have no wish to be done over by an enemy I know from previous experience is likely to be lurking close by.

Open doors when it is safe to do so. And this is the door opener's decision. You may disagree with the decision - that is your right - but the decision is not yours to make. If another player does not like it, they can open the door for themselves. If they can't then I am sure there is something else useful they can be doing. Killing enemies springs to mind.

Furthermore, in my case, spamming f4 results in two reactions. In sequence:

1) deciding that the spammer bears a startling resemblance to a suppository insertion point; and

2) not opening the door at all.

I've never quite reached the second stage, because I don't want to penalise the uninvolved party members, but it has been close, oh so close.

If you have a crappy internet connection and you know you have a crappy internet connection, then for the love of Pete do NOT host/lead a match! These almost always wind up with the rest of the party in laggy, moonwalking hell.

With regard to conversing during a match, speaking for myself I simply don't. Nothing personal, I'm just not there to chit-chat with a group of randoms. In the hundreds of matches I've dropped in, I can count the number of times I've spoken to the group on the fingers of one hand and I'd have leftovers. I don't even have the headset/mic hooked up 99.9% of the time. I do, however, often mute others. I have eyes and reasonable use of my intellectual faculties, I don't really need a running commentary on every single thing going on in the game. To say nothing of hearing mommy screaming in the background for junior to take the trash out.

What about Faith and Charity, two delightful young people.

Hope tells you that the devs surprises will be pleasant ones. Faith in the devs tells you there is no chance of that.

It is probably better not to have a rigid expectations of how your teammates should or will act, if only for your own mental health. There are just too many variables.

While I do agree with your points, I think the process is even more painful for the time being - don't you have to buy the game again if you want to start another account for MP?

Actually no.  I created a new player profile on the XB1, and was not sure what to expect.  Turns out any game I have installed under my main account is available to play under any secondary account, on my XB1.  I was surprised since I also thought I'd have to pay for another copy.

This is where i get confused... alot!

i assume everyone wants a time efficient run...

I remember when i was noobish (and i still am :) ) to Daimp and some OP killing robot would come in the lobby and wreck s*** with their AW...

the other noobs and i would focus on getting chest, vase, picking flowers and whatever else that would contribrute to the hulk smash player....

Not run to the front with "Oh, he/she is killing everything and not dying, without a barrier or guard, hmmmm.... let me go help and get my kill streak on" :)

Im sorry to say i will not wait... unless you or/and a buddy are actually opening doors from the start of the round and not trying to kill non chest room enemies theeeeen go open doors..

NM yes (although rare), HB yes (same)

Time is key ( unless you are a slug and using double xp lobby)

That's exactly the problem my friend.  Assumptions, and incorrect assumptions at that.  The mindset that everyone can/should skip gold because they have the best of everything is a erroneous and unqualified assumption at best, and something many people do in Life in general (assuming that their model of the world/Life applies to everyone—simply not the case).

I have two accounts on my XB1.  My main account has decent weps and acc, but not everything, so my main account still needs gold to buy chests.  Hakkon weps you say?  Yes, still need them.  My secondary account, being only 3 weeks old most obviously needs gold (my Bow of Cruel Redemption and 2% HoK ring just aren't cutting it).

Point being (and this is for all players who need a shift in perspective), please stop assuming, expand your perspective.  Be willing to help those who are still working on it.  You were there once too, although you may have forgotten what it was like to be a lowly newb.

This type of player right here, is why treasure rooms were one of the worst design decisions of DA:MP. Allows one player to completely destroy the flow of the game.

"This type of player right here" feels that there is a double standard here. Player 1 wants something done which is important in their eyes, player 2 is doing something which they believe is equally or more important. Why should 2 give way to 1, but not the other way round?

As for destroying the flow of play, my personal view is that interrupting attacks is as disruptive or more so. You seem to be making the assumption that the person requiring the door to be opened is infallible. In my experience this by no means always the case. In fact, if I know and trust the player making the call I would open the door, but not with a random group of strangers.

However I feel we are unlikely to agree, so further discussion seems pointless.

From a newb’s perspective, I have come across two things that seem quite childless and unnecessary however.  Tea-bagging newbs for getting killed (that’s what all newbs do) or those that stand/jump up and down just outside the Zone 5 activation circle is needless idiocy.  I suppose every dog gets it first bite but then they are put down or in this case put on the never play with again list.  Hopefully, that list remains small.

I was about to defend the honour of teabaggers around the world when I realised I only teabag 2 people, both on my friend list, and both of whom teabagged me first.... I guess I need to l2teabag more :(

That said, teabagging is pretty fun, adds a PvP element, and gives me a reason to use rock armour tonics.

You know something, I'm gonna teabag Beerfish one of these days.  Beerfish, please note, purely for fun and I completely expect a return of said teabagging.

I acutally find it funny tbh.  I sometimes get teabagged in BF4 and I laugh each time.  Yeah, it's immature, but kinda funny too.  :)

Did you know I once got a 122 killstreak with my Archer? 122. How does one measly treasure room compare to such a glorious achievement?

You were there once too, although you may have forgotten what it was like to be a lowly newb.

What I see nowadays is a lot of players playing on perilous without having put in their time on the lower difficulties. They are often useless and need to be carried. When I join a pug, I will open treasure rooms. But if they join my lobby, they will be dragged to the next zone kicking and screaming.

A good 4 person team can have a perfect flow to a game and still get ALL post and ALL chests.  with a full 4 man team any of the chest bosses go down very quickly, the only time they are a problem is if one or two weaker team mates take them on.

I'll ignore rooms if the rest of the team is pretty well bent on a super speed run but if you all act as a team the time taken to get the extra cash is minor in the grand scheme of things.

122 Archer killstreak is indeed glorious, however gold's still important to those who are still seeking to unlock the goodies.

Fair enough.  I do agree, don't come to a level you're not prepare for.  Oh, how I recall too many unexperience/prepared scrubs in ME3:MP Gold...

As Campout King pointed out, use a mic to communicate.  I admit to being bad with this as I tend not to speak, but will start doing so now.

Ok, that is cool.  You seem like a reasonable person.  I agree, not a lot of players use mics, and I too have been bad for this.  I will start speaking up.  It is true, if we do not voice our concerns, no one will hear us, and we're not mind readers, but if some of you are, and still skip doors—you are a giant sized a-hole.

I can see a different context among friends but the thread is about “random pugs”.  Kind of like one would typically not tell an off-color joke to someone you just met on the phone.  There is no relationship/context so here it’s likely to be seen as an act of grieving.  Which may or may not be the actual intention but one never knows with strangers.  While I might expect childish acts from my younger grandchildren, I give everyone else the benefit of the doubt until established otherwise.  I’m probably just way too old to find such things amusing.

-When everything is clear and you see someone hanging in the back, please go forward. Don't wait. This isn't your first rodeo, you know people are transported automatically.

-Use the fountain even if you're in full health, your team may need it. Not everyone has HoK or has a lot of health.

-Don't open the room if you're alone and can't handle a surprise.

-Don't spam 'come here friend' if someone doesn't want to open the door.

-Don't rush in before the warrior when you're playing a class with low health and doesn't have any protection whatsoever. Let them take the heat for you, while you deal damage protected.

-Perilous isn't threatening, new player. If you still want to play, at least use a high level character or try to work with the group.

So, last weekend's challenge was to open 30 chests, right?  I'm playing in a random pug, and we weren't a balanced team, so each door was precious, as I still needed 5 chests.  Granted, this was Sunday afternoon, but I had a busy weekend - so shoot me!  I only hit the 'over here' button once, because I don't want to be that person.  So, it seemed a little hostile to force tp me to the next room, while my keeper was waiting/hoping for a rogue to come open the door.  So, now I'm a little (read 'a lot') pissy...nobody is getting barriered they can all go fu-...oh hi there AW, you're going to open this door with me? Cool!  Strength in numbers...go in, kill spiders, open the chest, and BAM force tp'd. (Usually, folks wait until they see the gold show on the screen before they do this, which is totally cool with me, it doesn't take 4 people to loot a room.)  I was bullsh*t!!!    Finally, I think someone figured out that I was still trying to get my chests, because after that all the doors that could be were opened.

I'm usually a go with the flow kinda gal, if you want to speed run, no problem, I'll finish out the game with you and then try to find a pug that likes their gold. I wasn't on voice, and I couldn't express my need for more chests, but given that it was a weekend challenge, I didn't think someone would need to be a psychic to figure out why I was loitering around doors lol

Dear close combat companion. If you see me attacking an enemy, you don't need to attack the same enemy if there are almost a dozen other enemies around. You want that kill? I'll give it to you, if he's almost finished. Except my life bar is blinking red. In that case I need(!) to kill him myself and I need you to stay away. In the meantime please consider to attack another one. This will also enhance your karma.
