Unless you are using a mod on a PC, fade touched materials are stupid rare. Just keep hitting those Silverite nodes, or use a mod.

There's a rift in the JOH where it drops. The rift just west of the swampside camp. You can farm as much of it as you like.

Kind of wish fade touched materials would be made available in Black Emporium, if Short List is selected. Could be one random piece at a time and ridiculously overpriced as anything Xenon is selling too.
Understand some of the schematics in BE are quite discounted from the Vanilla game, though am uncertain which ones.

Or you can just go get the crafting store mod at nexus.

Yep. The spot is straight West from the camp, South side of the creek. Green blobs dropped by closed rifts behave exactly like chests. And the ones in JoH are full of useful goodies. I've memorized where they all are on the map.

By "farm" do you mean saving and reloading at a silverite deposite, or are you running around collecting them? Because saving and reloading is MUUUUCH faster for getting fade touched materials.
No, you have to Fast Travel.
And whether quicksave/quickload is faster kinda depends on your load time. For me, it's faster to hit all the nodes in the Pools of the Sun, Fast Travel, and return, but I've got insane load times.

Fast Travel within the map?

Fast Travel within the map?
It's about the same amount of time for me to travel to a new area and travel back as it is for me to fast travel within the area.
Or are you talking about using in-the-area fast travel to farm the drop from the Frostback Basin fade rift? If so, it won't help. It's like the chests in the Cradle. They don't reset until you leave the area and come back.

True. But how many FT silverites do you need at once?

Are you checking both spots in the Emprise Du Lion?
The one from the camp through the tunnel, as well as where the Dragon was in the top right corner, the one inside the enclosed space. To the right there is a travel point.
Just go through the tunnel from the camp, then fast travel to the Dragon Lair, clear it out, jump to another area, jump back, rinse and repeat.
Managed to get 4 in half an hour.

Better off farming snoufleur skin any ways. There are damage types that bypass guard and as long as you have a barrier mage it's kind of redundant. I noticed my party is way more survival when outfitted with 1% heal on hit, as opposed to guard on hit. Not to mention the alternate masterwork is horn of valor, which is also pretty boss for free party wide self-buffing.

Jaws of Hakkon is the best way to farm Fade-Touched Silverite.

No reason why you can't have both, heal on hit and guard on hit. And no reason why you can't have both, good guard and good barrier skills. Snoufleur rogue gear for everyone is a good alternative too, particularly when Emprise du Lion first opens up.
Very rarely does my guard get bypassed--so rarely that it's not worth considering as a general rule for crafting and character development.

Their is a higher chance we'll get KOTOR 3 and Half-life 3 before getting a fade touched silverite.

Yeah its pretty rare, i'v farmed just one at sleeping dragon's place in Emprise, and it took me about 1 hour to do. One piece with 5 guard on hit and 3 with chainlightning on hit. Wanted to farm more, but eventually just gave up.
Its really not needed that much even on nightmare.

I don't farm - ever. Still I think I have got two of those 5-guard thingies for my little lavellan =).

Tell me about it. I'm trying to get Fade Touched Lurker Scales, that give +75% movement speed when in Stealth.
So far, I got about 1000 regular scales and 2 FT, that give chance of Veilstrike.
Thanks RNG.
Drop rate of those things is absurdly low. And there's no other source for this particular enchantment, even lower versions are on leather, which means you have to murder dozens of innocent animals to get them.

Got this one on my last playthrough - and damn, this was good! Far better than any other fade touched material. Completely solved problem of slow movement in combat for my dw rogue. Random loot btw, no farming, just luck. ![]()

Yeah I save scummed until I got enough guard silverite for the armour of my pc and usual party members - only farming I did all game, but I REALLY wanted it.
