The first lobby I found it in was a day or two before. Played first game with one of us bragging how great the kill streak was with new bow. All four of us went from 1 to 18 in one game and assumed it had to do with new download or bow. Next round noticed bow was crediting 2-3 more kills. We assumed lobby glitched and backed out, and it didn't duplicate after that. So my guess is it was imported with new download.

Just a side note but the glitch has been abused since the first day of the double xp weekend. As far as I know anyways. I know of no one who discovered before that point.

In another thread there are some who swear the same or similar xp glitch has been around for as long as 5 months, just not widely known about or as easily repeatable. Personally, I never heard anything on Xbone until patch 1.09 was released, which is now about 3 weeks ago I believe...

Not sure which one is better, but I'm leaning toward C: Trying to have fun on the DAMP forums because I can't actually play much the next few weeks.

Well ideally we wouldn't lose anything but the prestige since the day the glitch started. Keep the stats and equips and gold, but everyone would be on the same playing field again only point-wise. Prestige points don't mean much in and of themselves, at least to me. They are just a measuring tool, and as of now the tool is just broken.

Why is there even a leader board for a game that is supposed to be co op/pve? Seems rather counterproductive to the whole notion of cooperative since you have players who are adamant on stating their position on them as well as the source of negativity in these forums.

  I dont envy the Devs at all in having this crazy "man the life boats, wemon & kidies first" situation on their hands.

 I don't know when the first apperance of the "wretched cheaters glitch" occured. If it had been occuring randomly ( or there was a very small portion of the player base that could replicate it but kept secrect ) "before" the latest patch which may have made it easier to reproduce. Or it came with the latest patch. It is odd that it manifested itself like wildfire after a 2x weekend event. I had not read anything about the event. Realized it was a thing after logging in at the time.

 

  Some of you want to completely remove the "wretched cheaters". Break that down into to parts. Some want them removed due to the corruption of the leaderboards. Period. Some want them removed because they simple detest cheating of any kind. You know the social engineering moral "save the whales" but I'll still drive my gas burning vehicle because I need it to get paid so I can afford my electricity produced by the nuclear power plant type. Justified planet genocide and you are a part of it! So sad, can't seem to go off the grid?

 

 Lets not get into embelishing (falsifying) job applications, the many times failing to come to a complete stop, going just 8 miles over the speed limit to not be late for work, indulging in the use of left handed cigarettes  because your at a party and they don't do randoms where you work or your the great, great, great, great, great grand niece or nephew of Joan of Arc.

 

 The point being, the Devs have now been put to task by some to be judge, jury and executioner. If people are banned I hope you get the game and leaderboards you are wanting. Those that do remember just one thing please, you are living in a world of imperfections. It can and will happen again. You'll eventually tire of this crusade and seek out another. Too bad its not in the real world.

I wish BW would just fix the glitch. Is it really that hard? What kind of man power do we need to accompish this feat of engineering? Do we just not care at this point so let the chips fall where they may and btw cheaters be warned? I hope the staff turns to fixing the actual problem before handing out punishments, because believe me there will be a LOT of people deserving of bans. Then again, I'm on the PS3 and our community has been recently forsaken anyway. So is the glitch still alive on the PS4, xBone and PC? I just want it gone... much more than I want to see cheaters "looked into."

It was "fixed" god knows how many times.  4?  7?  Infinite?

At this point, I feel like this idea is the most reasonable way make the leaderboards once again reflect the actual standing of players for those who care about its accuracy.

LOL? The whole "prestige" thing is as useless as the N7 rank of ME3!

I hope "looking into" means bans.

If the leaderboards don't matter as some say, then do away with them entirely. But, what impact would that have on the player base?

My guess is that all the grinding and promoting needs to be measured to make the time commitment measurable in some way, and therefore the leaderboards matter - making their integrity all the more important.

So, I hope " looking into" means bans.

Some cheaters/exploiters/ToS violators may quit, but do we want them around anyway?

Personally i like to play the game as intended. Im not on the leaderboard, but like the grind and spent a lot of time grinding. I dont care if people use the exp bug, but get annoyed as heck when i at the end of quick game notice i ended up in one. Why do the ones exploiting this need to have their games open to public?
I dont have fiber so when i host a game i guess i get low priority when people search for games and therefore i prefer joining others. I kindly ask them who use the exploit to set private. If they wanna use this bug: fine. But dont force it on others that are unaware of it.
Should it come to the point when one have to ask if its a legit game before you join the game?
I dont care what u choose to do with the exploiters. Just fix the bug so those who want to be legit can play the game as intended.

Lef's post shows just how widespread the glitch is. I too have joined pugs just to find out they are glitched. You can hardly avoid it anymore. From what I understand, the fix is only going to roll out with the newest patch, which the older generation consoles are supposedly not going to get. So will the older gens be left in a corrupted state permanently, or is it possible to just push the fix through and be done with it? I'm tired of seeing my friends and the general matchmaking community divided and plagued by this "moral dilemma" while just trying to enjoy a game. It's in the back of everyone's minds, and it's causing jealousy and bitterness, self-righteousness amongst friend groups. Please make it right, and patch the glitch ASAP on the old consoles.
