In ME1, it bugged me how when you get out of the Mako, you are teleported out, and when you go back to the Mako, you teleport in.  Do you think this would matter in ME:A? Or do you want to see an animation of the squad popping the hatch to the Mako and climbing in?

Are we going to see realistic entry/exit from the Mako?

Not if EA's corner cutting standards still apply.

It's something minor, but in my opinion it adds to the immersion of the game.  To just tele out and tele in... Come on.  That is cutting corners.  They could let an intern do that animation.

Oh god yes please show them getting out, even if it's just a cheap camera angle so they don't need to animate a door, better than teleportation.

Yeah i'd love to see some sort of realistic entry and exit from the Mako

To this day, I actually don't know how three people would get in and out of the ME1 MAKO in the first place. I always felt that the vehicle was a bit small for 3 people. Especially the height, I mean, did they lie down in there?

So, if there would have been an animation, it would probably have taken forever to watch all three people squeeze in and out of there. :)

If there would be an animation in the next game, I''d hope that it's very fast and unobtrusive. I certainly don't want to sit around waiting for a few seconds every time I get in/out the vehicle. In that case, I'd rather go with the teleporting again (which didn't really bother me that much tbh).

If they make an animation, we need the ability to skip it.  I'll watch it a few times, but after awhile, we need the option to SKIP.

Well, in that case, I'd actually opt for just showing the team getting in/out the MAKO a couple of times in specific cutscenes, so that we get an idea of what it's supposed to look like. It would make things a lot easier than an animation that has to work on all sorts of terrain, angles, lighting and whatnot.

That said, I do hope we'll see the interior of the new MAKO though. I always wondered what the old one looked like on the inside and I thought that car/shuttle scenes in ME2/3 were a nice touch to give us an idea that the vehicle we are using is a persistent part of the world, not just a mobile object in the game engine.

Let's be honest it would be cool the first couple of times but then after the 1000000 time people would beg to skip that animation. IMO it's not worth the effort.

The teleporting didn't bother me except on Virmire. After the Mako lands, it has Shepard outside of the vehicle only to get back in it. Why not just have Shepard stay in the Mako?

Unless there are variations to the "jump out and jump in" scenes, forget it. They would become animations similar to the DAI "elf Root" gathering... totally obnoxious after a while. Add the fact that these scenes are pre-rendered and you will find a clash of weapons and armours from the pre-rendered scene and what you are actually wearing.

I expect to see non of this simply for cost cutting reasons and is unnecessary anyway.

Yea, that was odd indeed. For those kinds of cutscenes, if they want to show the characters, interior shots within the MAKO would be good in ME:A.

An interior shot of the Mako would be awesome. I've always wonder what it looked like inside, and what it looked like in the Hammerhead.

Vehicles in ME always seem flat.  Like you'd have to lie down in order to get in and operate it.  However the cars in ME2/3, showed what it looked like inside, and even those looked flat.

No.
I have zero problems with teleportation and would probably find the animation highly annoying after a while

This I could live with. Better would be the option to just turn it off.

Per the leaked ME4 survey they want to have "seamless" transitions from the MAKO to the exterior so no so much a cutscene as door drops and you just walk your squad out.

QFT

Any semi-realistic animation will take at least 3 seconds. Multiply that by the 2 or 3 hundred times you get into and out of the mako in ME1 (assuming a semi-completionist playthrough where you do most side quests) and you have a whole bunch of finger tapping impatience.

If it's quick enough I wouldn't be any more bothered than having to watch Geralt hop off his horse, and somehow I doubt we'll be getting out of the Mako nearly as often as you have to get off roach.

The mako needs a driver you can carjack so the animation remains entertaining like in grand theft auto. Jk for the humor impaired.

If the animation was fast, like getting into a Warthog or Scorpion in Halo, and the animation always played properly (i.e. unlike mounting horses in DA:I), then I'd say go for it.
