BSN... It's time for us to have the talk. 

 

 

Let's talk blue girls. 

 

1.) Which Asari kit is your favorite: Adept, Justicar, Valkyrie, Huntress, or Vanguard?

2.) Which asari is your least favorite, if you have one?

3.) What weapons/builds/loadouts do you use with your asari?

 

If you do not like asari, feel free to explain yourself as well. I will not fite you IRL. Because this is the asari thread... there may be other more appropriate "methods" of convincing you.   Personally they aren't REALLY my thing  cuz they aren't sexy fat turians, I just told some dude I'd make an asari thread 

 

 

 Feel free to post pictures of Asari as well, I guess... just try to keep it SFW.

I'll go first and be a cool person that replies to my own thread!  

 

1.) Justicar is a versatile and interesting character with a unique play-style compared to other kits. At first I was pretty derp with her and still am probably, but I've grown to appreciate how powerful and fun she is. Dat bubble tho 

 

2.) I like all Asari. Vanguard would be my least favorite though primarily because I like kits that have more effective powers against big armor, and with Stasis, Lift Grenades, and Biotic charge I often feel obligated to go full ham and put a weapon like Wraith or something on her to compensate for her lack of effectiveness against bosses (which is quite boring to me). That said, I almost never do anything except solo with her and experiment... with various weapon combos. Still haven't found a weapon I truly like on her. 

 

3.) I most often use; Disciple or Raider on the Valkyrie, Carnifex or Valiant on the AA, Raider on the Asariguard, M-98 Widow or Crusader on the Huntress and Saber or Falcon on the Justicar.  But then asari are good with anything, even the Predator.

I really cant choose. It is a 3-way tie with no-one in the lead.  Justicar / Huntress / vanilla Dept

 

Acolyte Justicar makes cerberus a joke. Huntress w krysae / incid ammo makes Geth a joke ...vanilla dept w Paladin makes everybody a joke..I can't choose

 

only thing that sets any one of them apart..is I was able to make a color scheme for the vanilla dept to where she looks exactly like Aria.

 

you asked me to pick...I can't...only other thing I can think of is to challenge you to fight me in real life like I see a bunch of other BSNr's have..can you fit me in your busy schedule?

I kinda like some Assari, but I won't be answering in response to the fact that the most awesomest of the races, the Drell, has been left out of this epic trilogy.

Another fantastic thread. Asari are awesome.

 

1) Valkyrie is my favorite asari. Tech Armor on asari is awesome. At no. 2, it is the justicar with an excellent and unique power set. The other three lag behind but are still good to play every now and then.

Valkyrie > Justicar >> Adept > Huntress > Vanguard

 

2) None. Just being an asari means they're awesome. Vanguard is my least played though.

 

3) The builds:

    Asari adept with eagle - I don't like stasis sniping. This build is focused on gambling with the bonus power evos

    Asari Justicar with acolyte - Pull + reave all the things, and watch them shatter into frozen pieces.

    Asari Valkyrie with omni-blade venom - Weapon doesn't matter. Asarigasm all the things. 

    Asari huntress with lancer - Cast DC, shoot and end with a BE.

    Asari vanguard with disciple - a.k.a. Ms. Gambler. Bonus power on all the things and mix it with a bit of asari heavy melee.

   Sometimes, I just put a venom on everything.

1. Asari Valkryie - I'm like a broken record here. And although I don't play it often, I do not believe the Asari Vanguard gets enough hype for how powerful she is, a true roflstomper against all factions

 

2. I don't know that I have a least favorite, but I think I've only played the Huntress and Adept once each. And I'm not very proficient with the Justicar (although I do like playing her)

Order of my liking:  Justicar, Adept, Valkyrie, Huntress, Vanguard (I just don't really like Vanguards, although she is one of my favorites).  The Justicar actually might be my #1 favorite character on this game, or at the very least in my top 3.

Asaris rule.
1. Fav is Huntress because I love me some claymore. She demands high Lord while others get bogged down by it.
2. Love every one of them, dislike none. But don't play Assguard often as I rarely host.

Asari

 

I've said it many times, I'll probably say it again... Valkyrie is simply the best. The combination of tech armor, annihilation field and warp makes her a powerhouse, be it on defensive or offensive. Put adrenaline mod on her and Raider and watch her melt everything in front of her while she still manages to stay sexy. Piranha is a good alternative.

 

Asariguard is probably my second favourite, despite not hosting often. Them lift nades... sure, they are not cluster nades, but they still manage to bog pretty much everything down. And watching phantoms and nemeses flying into the sky never gets old. Yeah, she doesn't have much in ways of killing armor, except for her guns. Which just serves to show how badass this gal is... she does everything her sisters do and without fancy magics. Only her and Claymore and enough ordinance to blow Harbinger back to dark space.

 

I like Huntress. She's that creepy sneaky ****** that will sneak up on you, infect you with space plague, blow your head away with Claymore and then blow up your buddy with a well placed warp that will also blow away half of your unit, all the while laughing maniacally. Seriously, she's kinda creepy, but so very much effective.

 

Vanilla adept was my first love and I still love her dearly. Dem biotic booms... dat stasis and all dem blown noggins... beautiful! Lately, she's gotten a taste for snipers, like Kishock and Krysae... blowing up Cerberus grunts into gory pieces never gets old.

 

Justicar... don't really care for her, since I suck with her. I know how incredibly powerful she can be, but I just can't get a proper hang of her.

forgot..least favorite ( brace for it BSN )  Vanguard.. to me she is just, meh..boring. Stasis?  thats what the vanilla dept is for. Lift nades.. I think I am just over them as a whole..my krentinel doesnt even use them any more.

I was generally disappointed with the asari builds available.  The Valkyrie's okay, as is the Justicar, but they didn't feel like they were the biotic goddesses they should be as the most prolific proponents of the art in the galaxy.  The N7 Fury I think should have been an asari build, which the Valk almost does but with the extra defence which would make more sense for a human soldier biotic IMO.

 

Favourite:

Bang for bucks, Vanguard.  *grenade, grenade, charge, shotgun blast, etc*

But I do like a run with the Justicar, for floaty boom boom fun.

 

Least fave:

Probably Huntress, but I'm not a huge fan of sniper based chars anyway.

 

Fave Build:

Probably Vanguard with no stasis + N7 Crusader.

TL;DR version:

 

1/ favourites are the Commando and Huntress;

2/ least favourite is the Justicar;

3/ preferred weapons are biosplosions, and semi-auto guns for shooting things in the head.

When I'm not playing quarians, I do enjoy moonlighting as asari.

 

My favourites are the Huntress and the vanilla Adept/Commando.  Builds are Samisia (Commando) and Atalanta (Huntress) in my signature.

The Commando is a go-to character if I decide to chance a game of Gold without the help of BSNers.  Stasis is so effective for defanging Phantoms and Hunters that I'm surprised Bioware permitted it.  The only faction that really gives her any trouble is geth, but once their shields are down, they succumb to explosions like anything else.  I like her with a scoped pistol for Stasis-"sniping"; been playing her with the Suppressor recently.

The Huntress is another go-to character.  I liked her from the very first game I played as her.  Again, she's fantastic for dealing with Phantoms or other pressure units: if all else fails, cast Dark Channel from cloak, run away and wait a few seconds.  That aside, I try to keep Dark Channel running constantly.  For mooks, I cast DC as a stagger and then shoot (it's even money whether it'll be the DC or a shot that kills them); for armoured things, alternate DC and Warp for kabooms.  The prevailing consensus seems to be to play her as a shotgun infiltrator, but I prefer a hard-hitting, precise semi-auto that I can use to kill things at range: Crusader if on-host, otherwise Saber or Paladin, or Carnifex in Silver.

I really want to like the Justicar, and can play her okay-ish in Silver I guess, but she doesn't really click.  Doubtless she would if I practised a lot, but given that I'm not playing as much these days, I don't really want to waste time struggling with her.  Given that her powers are designed for close-range use, I tried arming her with a shotgun, but shotties and me don't get along very well.  I could try again with an assault rifle, I suppose.

Being an uncommon, the Vanguard was the first asari I unlocked.  I play her in Silver, but not "properly": I've got her specced out of Biotic Charge completely, configured as a biotic soldier.  I just give her an assault rifle and use Stasis and Lift Grenades as situationally appropriate.  (Aside: I play the turian Cabal in the same kind of way.  I have three ranks in Poison Strike, but barely use it).

Can't comment on the Valkyrie as I haven't unlocked her.

Lol Techno, I think we need a thread for each race !  I don't like asari, I would want that one of these blue chicks proves me that they're good. 

 

The Valkyrie is my least favorite, since I don't like Annihilation Field. My favorite is the vanilla adept, I like characters with solutions for anything. Stasis + shoot for mooks, Warp + Throw for bosses, at any range. Then Justiciar, Huntress, and vanguard (I don't like much grenades).

Adept- Arc is probably best but Talon, Wraith, Lancer, etc all work pretty well with her. Really balanced and powerful kit.

AJA- Acolyte is almost perfect with a Pull/Reave approach. Reave with armor damage is the way to go because the acolyte neutralizes shields and warp rounds annihilate primed enemy health. Acolyte is AOE as well as Reave so the extra damage to primed targets is more synergistic as well. Arc Pistol, Talon, Wraith, Venom, etc are all really good on her. A Venom build skipping pull is very effective if you're going uber offensive with her for kills or clearance time.

Vanguard- Talon is pretty good as well but gives up a little damage if you don't take a piercing mod or some sundering rounds. I like FEs and extra lift nade damage so mods restrict me to arc pistol moreso than preference here. Stasis is still situationally useful on her.

Well,  I have no problem at all making these threads on EVERY species in MP (...though I'd probably have to combine a few because I'm lazy) but I think the rest of BSN would protest when the entire front page consists of asterisks and Important Questions™ and it wouldn't be long before Crapper starts making threads about me
