Side note* Players don't have to host to use Vanguards, they are still really powerful.
On host Vanguards are almost unfair to the rest of your team.

My new favourite asari is the Jusicar. I stole somebody else's build (and now can't remember whose it was) and it's pretty awesome.
My least favourite is the Valkyrie. Haven't used her once. Probably should though.
For weapons...my Justicar comes with a Talon (which I'm really starting to like), but usually I'll use either the Asari Stripper Gun, the Disciple, the GPR or whichever SMG I feel like playing with.

I really want to like the Justicar, and can play her okay-ish in Silver I guess, but she doesn't really click. Doubtless she would if I practised a lot, but given that I'm not playing as much these days, I don't really want to waste time struggling with her. Given that her powers are designed for close-range use, I tried arming her with a shotgun, but shotties and me don't get along very well. I could try again with an assault rifle, I suppose.
If you're not "getting" the Justicar, it might be because the bolded statement is not really correct. Yes, you can play her with a shotgun, but I think she is better with longer-ranged weapons.
The bubble can be used for Reave-Bubble-Reave double explosions, but this is too risky and situational to be used as a primary gameplay tactic (except on Dragoons, which will come to you and make it easy for you). It should be used only when appropriate. The Bubble is best placed on spawn points or at choke points for debuffing or setting up easy and repeated BE's, or you can go full defensive bubble (I would only recommend this for sustained-fire strategies using hard cover).
Her other powers are very effective at mid and long ranges. I prefer to play her with either a Paladin, a Lancer, or a Hurricane/Acolyte combo.

I was generally disappointed with the asari builds available. The Valkyrie's okay, as is the Justicar, but they didn't feel like they were the biotic goddesses they should be as the most prolific proponents of the art in the galaxy. The N7 Fury I think should have been an asari build, which the Valk almost does but with the extra defence which would make more sense for a human soldier biotic IMO.
Basically this. and...
1.) Vanguard - most fun to play by far.
2.) The others.
3.) Raider.
*edit: IMO Asari should have unique powers not shared by other classes. Granted, AJ has this with bubble - but IMO bubble is pretty lame - too stagnant, have to lead the enemies into it, etc etc.

All Asari characters are awesome but my favourites are in order Asari Adept, Justicar, Vanguard, Huntress and Valkyrie. Warmest memories I have with Vanguard because I did my very first gold game with her. Mainly use guns like Arc, Venom, Wraith, Acolyte and CSMG. Quite basic builds with all of them, Vanguard without stasis and Justicar I keep changing with and without pull.
1) Commando. I remember when the game first launched she was considered the best character, and it took me forever to unlock her. Always had a special place in my heart. Good against everything too. Justicar is a close second once I learned to play her right.
2) Vanguard. Not because she's bad, but I don't put more than 3 points into stasis and it's mainly just Charge->Grenade, and if I'm going to do that I prefer Drell.
3) Commando - Wraith/Paladin/Carnifex
Justicar - Acolyte Collector SMG combo/Wraith
Huntress - Arc Pistol/Reegar (for lols)/CSR
Valkyrie - Raider/Venom
Vanguard - Talon
Valkyrie, for obvious reasons, with the Justicar a very close second cuz she was my first

If I had to choose one I didn't like, it's probably the Huntress. Not because I dislike her, but more because I like the others more.

Incorrect. You can play her as a full on in your face bubble spamming/detonating Asari nightmare. She excels at dealing with the huge slow enemies even more than Reave spamming the rest of the units.
Favorite has probably got to be Just a car, followed by a tie between the assguard and assdept.
Don't really have a least liked. Though if I had to I'd probably pick Huntress because I usually don't care for infiltrators.
Full offensive bubble justicar with Lancer and stasis'less vanguard with wraith. Huntress also uses wraith, and valkyrie and assdept both use CSMG.
(as a side note, asari are one of my two favorite aliens in mass effect, tied with krogans. FOR THESSIA BITCHEZ!)

My favorite Asari is probably the vanilla AA with Wraith (I miss Hoochie Hamiltoe), but I try to use her in rooms with teammates who know what they're doing...pugging I'd stick with Valkyrie or AJA (CSMG/Talon respectively) and when I feel cheesy the Vanguard or Huntress (with Talon/Harrier respectively)..

I kinda like some Assari, but I won't be answering in response to the fact that the most awesomest of the races, the Drell, has been left out of this epic trilogy.

1) Asari Vanilla Adept 
2) Not least favorite, but because I don't host much I use Valkyrie and Vanguard the least. Lift grenades are pretty nice... but I'm spoiled by Drellguard cluster nades XD
3) I actually really like Asari Vanilla Adept with Paladin + Scope... But if I want to kill stuff fast then Claymore. Also Huntress with CSR to melt all the things. Justicar with Venom or Wraith is pretty fun too.
The Codex makes it pretty clear that asari are the finest warriors in the galaxy (even turians agree), obviously they were simply toned down in-game for balance reasons.
Anyway, the reason I love playing asari is not because they're awesomely powerful, but because I just find them fun to play. They have interesting, mostly active power sets with very little cheese on top - and my favourite dodge in the game. They're not cheap grenade tossers (aside from vanguard), teleporters or wallhack abusers. To be effective with them requires good positioning, good awareness and good tactical decisions.
Asari kits are extremely well-balanced as a whole. None of them are weak, yet none of them are among the most OP kits either. Valkyrie is the only one of them that could even begin to make the case for being the strongest kit in its class.
As for the actual questions:
1. Commando Adept is my favourite kit in the game. Huntress would be second-favourite asari kit.
2. Justicar and Vanguard share the last spot on my asari list.
3. My favourite asari builds:
(I still haven't figured out a favourite build for Justicar, I just keep constantly respeccing and changing the loadout.)
Favourite is the Valkyrie. But I love all the Asari.
Least used is the AssGuard, because of crappy connection and lag issues.
Weapons vary for each kit.

Favourite - Huntress, or vanilla adept
Least favourite - Vanguard (just because I've rarely played any of the vanguards)
Guns - Claymore or Indra on the Huntress, Vanilla adept I use for pistol challenges (Arc pistol, Paladin, Carnifex, Executioner, Suppressor), Valkyrie I use the talon or wraith, Justicar I tend to use the Lancer, lastly, on the Vanguard, I tend to use the Talon or Acolyte.
