As much as I like the multiplayer, there is undoubtedly some areas that could be improved. Here is a list that I came up with.
General:
Barrier is significantly more useful than guard. Guard can only be built up to 25 % of health, wheres barrier uses the whole health bar and provides even protection for teammates. The point of the weapon & shield class is basically to tank but as you probably know Arcane Warrior is far more effective in this play style which almost renders the Legionnaire and the Templar irrelevant.
What I suggest is to decrease the time of barrier being active and maybe even increase the amount of maximum guard.
New game mode? I like the dungeon experience, but after a time you'd really wish to try out something different. Maybe a survival type mode? How about PvP (promotion points should not be in play in this type of game mode). Right now there's just the grind, it would be cool to have something else to do for a change, you gotta grind for something right?
Character customization in next game.
Classes:
Mage: This is in my opinion the most powerful and unbalanced class mainly because of the sheer effectiveness of barrier. Character wise Arcane Warrior and Elementalist are the main issues. The problem with AW is mainly not himself, but the barrier, (enough stated about that) he just takes away too much from the tank characters.
As for the Elementalist, he has too much useful abilities. In the character description he is described as a damage specialist. How come he then gets abilities such as barrier, death siphon, guardian spirit and more. That makes him basically a keeper + a damager with abilities such as fire wall. It's just too many good abilities in one tree. If he's supposed to be a damager, make him a damager, not a supporter and a damager.
Warrior: A big issue within the warrior class is Avvar. He lacks severe survivability compared to the other 2h warriors. He feels like a rogue all though he is supposed to be out there on the front lines. On the new higher difficulties not even a viable character. Give him equal survivability to the other 2h warriors.
And as stated before the weapon & shield characters need a boost (or a - to barrier) to become more relevant.
Rogue: I don't have much issues with this class, although it always bothers me seeing a rogue running out on the front lines with full guard. ![]()
Conclusion: The main problems are a few unbalanced things, as well as a lack of longevity. This game has great potential (otherwise I'd never bothered to write this) and I will continue to enjoy it regardless if any of the listed suggestions will ever happen. That being said I really hope BioWare continues to update this game.
Oh and does anyone else miss the Deep Roads? I would pay any amount for a dlc around that.
