I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.

Lets try this.  I don't care what you "guarantee" to me.  How about this. If I'm buying a AAA game...especially one from the likes of EA and Bioware there are some quality expectations there.  Giving me a MP game with 3 freaking maps is not that.  I could understand that from an indy game, but not them.  I could go on and on about content and loot systems and characters, but I'm not.  As for these "games that need patches, but never get them" I don't know of any.  Perhaps my standards are high enough that I have blacklisted these devs.  I refuse to buy Ubisoft and DICE games.  I will never buy another one and it is directly because of the garbage quality they give and the broken state their games are always in.  BF3 was the last DICE game I will ever buy as is AC3 from Ubisoft.  I had an absolute blast when Watchdogs released going to N4G and reading all of the rage of people who pre ordered that game.  Hilarious!  And the next Ubisoft game that comes out they will do the same thing and I will go and laugh at them again because they never learn.

I don't care about some "i got cha!" clause in some ToS bs.  If that's the route they want to take then that's fine.  I won't buy their games anymore either (and I'm not)  At the end of the day I expect when you CHOOSE to release a game on a system then you just committed to it and have some balls and see it through.  I bet the vast majority of people here didn't even expect the game to be released on old gen.  BUT IT WAS.

As far as the so called next gen issues you stated.  If that was the case then I wouldn't have bought it for that system.  At least you had some idea of what to expect since Bioware CHOSE to put the game on old gen though.  That's better than having the rug pulled out from under you after being purposely mislead and left out of the loop.

I think you should hop down off of EA's lap, look at the situation for what it is, and see that it is wrong.  You shouldn't treat people like crap.  Especially the ones that support you and are the reason you are where you are.  If you want to defend them and try to justify what they do then fine, but its a bad look. It also doesn't matter what you're "fairly certain" of.  You sound just like the PC players always needing to blame someone or something for every injustice in the world except the actual people making the game and the decisions they make.  A year or so from now YOU will be the reason games suck and PC players will tell you that with every other breath until PS4 is dropped and then they will find the next thing to blame and cry over and on and on and on.

It's not a matter of comprehension, it's a matter of paying the same price and getting less. It is different treatment, and while not serious discrimination, it is discriminatory. I DGAF about the TOS--that's Bioware's attitude for dropping loyal customers and tells me all I need to know about their integrity. I'll simply take my money elsewhere and I hope others who are just as upset at being lied to by omission do the same. It's the only way companies like Bioware will learn. Fool me once and all that. Never again with Bioware/EA.

And you didn't get worse treatment. You're getting and have already received more content than I have. As NextArishok308 pointed out, the PC players will be blaming YOU for subpar products instead of rightfully directing their frustrations to the company who made and sold the product. In fact, PC players are blaming PS4 and XBOX One already for subpar quality for other games.

Nope, they already are.

I get that you're angry, but you should read Brojo's posts about the limitations of the old hardware. The fossil you are playing on simply doesn't allow for the data volume of the coming patches. Sucks to be you, I guess.

As Cirvante pointed out, they're already blaming the console crowd and the thing is they have been for years. They started around the same time Elder Scrolls design became centered around the console market (even though the mods crowd still made those games boom on PC). More games are being ported to the PC and not the other way around, look at GTAV for one of the biggest reference point for Console to PC porting done properly (had a few rocky bits but still well done) and as for bad ports you can look at the cluster-f that is Batman Arkham Knight on the PC (one of those games that has seen a console patch but not a PC patch at this point). See Drake of the 99 Dragons for games that never got patches, not like a patch would have rescued that game.

Up until now, you've been receiving the same small and slightly lame patches that I've been getting. The difference is that the base hardware of the PS4 or the Xbox One or a custom PC is better designed to handle the FB3 Engine that DA:I is made on which is why the new gen consoles don't have nearly the horrendous bugs and glitches that the older consoles are having.

I will blame EA for foisting FB3 upon Bioware to have them use it on DA:I. At that point only three games had been made on the engine (Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Plants vs Zombies), none of which dealt with the style of play DA required and its why we got an inferior game all around. In either way BW should have continued to build upon their own custom designed engines that they've been building for years, so I will blame BW for caving and using the FB3 engine. I will also blame them for stretching themselves too thin and keeping old gen on the line instead of just sticking to next gen when design problems came up, they even had to hold the game over an extra month to fix bugs that made the game not play at all when certain things came up.

Bioware has made small amends for the sheer amount they need to make up for.

I will not blame the old gen console players because yes, you deserve continued support and yes you should get to complete the adventure you've started whether you put in 20 hours or 200 hours. You also deserved to know when your support was going to be cut off long before now, and in a much better way than as a foot note to something else.

First off the engine you are describing was only used by Dragon Age team, at one point BioWare had 4 games going (excluding ToR). DAI, ME:A, Shadow Realms and our new IP. So while a narrow engine might be great for 1 game it certainly wouldnt have worked for all the titles (notice ME used Unreal).

Second off EA didnt (as far as I know) force Frostbite on us we wanted it. Frostbite allows us to built extensions in it for our own needs, while giving us some features free. Something like tools (which is what I worked on) were taken from Frostbite (with most being developed for battlefield). There was 4 tools (called infrastructure) programmers on DA:I, compared to 9 on DA2, 10 on DAO, 12 for ME1. Keep in mind that is shipping 5 platforms vs 3 and 1 (ME1 was only 1 initially). As a result those people could be used for something else.

Also when you stick a number onto the end of something you do not immediately throw out all efforts that were done before, meaning Frostbite 3 (in some ways) is not that different from Frostbite 2.

Also the extra month was not because things were broken beyond all repair, it was for extra polish time. Since you brought up Batman Arkham Knight, you can see a month is not enough time to go from super broken to suddenly working at a tolerable level.

Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer Support for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Going Forward:

Since the release of Patch 8 on July 6, 2015, some of you have been asking what sort of support we’ll be providing for Dragon Age: Inquisition Multiplayer on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

The team had to make the tough decision to end new content and patch support for older systems. This affects single-player and multiplayer DLC content, as well as patches.

For single player and multiplayer, we wanted to provide some assistance to players who were preparing to make the jump to the new generation of platforms, which is where the Dragon Age save importer came in.

In the case of multiplayer, the DAIMP team remains committed to keeping the live service going for all players. This means we will continue to run weekly challenges on both PS3 and Xbox 360 for as long as we run them on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Thanks,

The DAIMP team

Note: In addition to this thread, please direct any comments, concerns, or complaints to @dragonage on twitter and facebook, or contacting EA support directly. These are the appropriate places to encourage people to post, or send messages.

So just to make sure I understand, you are cutting off patch support for single player on old gen for a AAA title that doesn't run well and needs some serious fixing after the latest patch you released breaks audio when leaving the black emporium, a game that crashes if you move while autosaving, or simply crashes at random when ever it wants to, a game that loads cutscenes that look like this: o0UGQv.jpg

And you think that is ok? I'm sorry but I paid for a game that runs well and is on equal grounds both visualy and performance wise to other open world games on the same platform, THIS is not that.

Why ban people from talking about this topic? You banned scene_cachet from this thread. Honestly, I can't figure out why. He's been pretty level headed about this, and has added a lot to this conversation. Why ban him? From what I've read, he hasn't gone against the ToS of this forum. Why resort to censorship to stop people from asking the hard questions? Anyone else you guys know that got banned from speaking out on this topic?

You'll probably ban me for asking this.

When you silence people you don't want speaking out or because they're criticizing your ideas, you are repressing your fanbase.

You know who else acts like this? North Korea, Cuba, Uzbekistan etc.

I can't wait til Bioware stops producing DLCs and support for the Xbox One because it has too many x's in the name, and it reminds them all of their exes, and is triggering.

Then we'll have a bunch of people coming in here and going "OMG U GUYZ OF COURSE IT'S TRIGGERING FOR BIOWAREZ YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN THIS AND BOUGHT A NINETY MILLION DOLLAR PC LIKE I DID OMGZ U LOSERS LOLOLOLOLOL."

That'll be fun.

That's a shame, because scene_cachet spoke some truth and I appreciate all the support coming from those who are on ps4, xbox one and pc. They recognize anti-consumer practices and call it out. That can only be a good thing.

That's probably the most ridiculous and hyperbolic strawman I've seen on this forum. Well, aside from claiming that "PC" is the same type of brand name as Xbox360 or PS3 is...

Seriously? That's sad if this is true - a few pages back we were told that calling someone a white-knight was an attempt to censor another posters view...I wonder what this is then?

Bioware censors anyone who speaks out against them and their BS. I would have thought that was pretty common knowledge by now.

I believe scene was banned after receiving a number of warnings in a short period of time (this may be an automated system), I believe the majority of the warnings came after another user reported them and the mods found grounds for the posts being removed and a warning given.

Note that I did not give any of those warnings.

Also of note, one of the warnings came from posting a single image as a reply which is a non-subjective grounds of receiving a warning and not all the warnings came from this thread.

Well them, why aren't you censored then? Why aren't half of people here - or on the forum - censored, for the amount of "speaking out against them", when it's obvious to anyone who spent enough time on BSN that being negative towards BW is kind of a sad tradition here?

Eh, the cognitive bias seems to run strong on this thread.

Then why are you here?, i find it kind of petty for a pc gamer who cares nothing for old gen gamer problems to keep roaming on old gen related threads just to talk of how our opinions are cognitively bias when we express our dissatisfaction for a product we paid for and the support we are not getting.

The last time I look nobody when they brought the game sign an TOS. So the argument that we brought the game "as is" is stupid. We did not paid for a game that bugged to hell. That always making my ps3 had to do a hard restart. I brought the game for Sp not Mp. Sp is still  amass with glitches'. For the record that is White Knighting or just plain kissing *ss. When you tell someone they doing an good job when they are not. If the goal of your company is to strive for mediocre than you are doing an great job at that. Banning people for being upset for mediocre reply's to the situation is wrong.

It's incredible how hostile and unreasonable some people can be - I make a couple of short, mild comments and I get to be the self-righteous ***** who reports everyone on this thread *sigh*

Also - I can rightfully report you now for baseless slander. It would actually be the first time I'd report anyone on this forum, if I actually bothered to do that.

Also, hon, the issue affects everyone using this forum, when people start throwing accusations of censorship happening on BSN to anyone with dissenting opinion or criticism of BW, which is demonstrably untrue.

edit: also, I'm not a 'dude', bro.
