I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed today.
Lets try this. I don't care what you "guarantee" to me. How about this. If I'm buying a AAA game...especially one from the likes of EA and Bioware there are some quality expectations there. Giving me a MP game with 3 freaking maps is not that. I could understand that from an indy game, but not them. I could go on and on about content and loot systems and characters, but I'm not. As for these "games that need patches, but never get them" I don't know of any. Perhaps my standards are high enough that I have blacklisted these devs. I refuse to buy Ubisoft and DICE games. I will never buy another one and it is directly because of the garbage quality they give and the broken state their games are always in. BF3 was the last DICE game I will ever buy as is AC3 from Ubisoft. I had an absolute blast when Watchdogs released going to N4G and reading all of the rage of people who pre ordered that game. Hilarious! And the next Ubisoft game that comes out they will do the same thing and I will go and laugh at them again because they never learn.
I don't care about some "i got cha!" clause in some ToS bs. If that's the route they want to take then that's fine. I won't buy their games anymore either (and I'm not) At the end of the day I expect when you CHOOSE to release a game on a system then you just committed to it and have some balls and see it through. I bet the vast majority of people here didn't even expect the game to be released on old gen. BUT IT WAS.
As far as the so called next gen issues you stated. If that was the case then I wouldn't have bought it for that system. At least you had some idea of what to expect since Bioware CHOSE to put the game on old gen though. That's better than having the rug pulled out from under you after being purposely mislead and left out of the loop.
I think you should hop down off of EA's lap, look at the situation for what it is, and see that it is wrong. You shouldn't treat people like crap. Especially the ones that support you and are the reason you are where you are. If you want to defend them and try to justify what they do then fine, but its a bad look. It also doesn't matter what you're "fairly certain" of. You sound just like the PC players always needing to blame someone or something for every injustice in the world except the actual people making the game and the decisions they make. A year or so from now YOU will be the reason games suck and PC players will tell you that with every other breath until PS4 is dropped and then they will find the next thing to blame and cry over and on and on and on.
It's not a matter of comprehension, it's a matter of paying the same price and getting less. It is different treatment, and while not serious discrimination, it is discriminatory. I DGAF about the TOS--that's Bioware's attitude for dropping loyal customers and tells me all I need to know about their integrity. I'll simply take my money elsewhere and I hope others who are just as upset at being lied to by omission do the same. It's the only way companies like Bioware will learn. Fool me once and all that. Never again with Bioware/EA.
And you didn't get worse treatment. You're getting and have already received more content than I have. As NextArishok308 pointed out, the PC players will be blaming YOU for subpar products instead of rightfully directing their frustrations to the company who made and sold the product. In fact, PC players are blaming PS4 and XBOX One already for subpar quality for other games.
Nope, they already are.
I get that you're angry, but you should read Brojo's posts about the limitations of the old hardware. The fossil you are playing on simply doesn't allow for the data volume of the coming patches. Sucks to be you, I guess.
As Cirvante pointed out, they're already blaming the console crowd and the thing is they have been for years. They started around the same time Elder Scrolls design became centered around the console market (even though the mods crowd still made those games boom on PC). More games are being ported to the PC and not the other way around, look at GTAV for one of the biggest reference point for Console to PC porting done properly (had a few rocky bits but still well done) and as for bad ports you can look at the cluster-f that is Batman Arkham Knight on the PC (one of those games that has seen a console patch but not a PC patch at this point). See Drake of the 99 Dragons for games that never got patches, not like a patch would have rescued that game.
Up until now, you've been receiving the same small and slightly lame patches that I've been getting. The difference is that the base hardware of the PS4 or the Xbox One or a custom PC is better designed to handle the FB3 Engine that DA:I is made on which is why the new gen consoles don't have nearly the horrendous bugs and glitches that the older consoles are having.
I will blame EA for foisting FB3 upon Bioware to have them use it on DA:I. At that point only three games had been made on the engine (Need for Speed: Rivals, Battlefield 4 and Plants vs Zombies), none of which dealt with the style of play DA required and its why we got an inferior game all around. In either way BW should have continued to build upon their own custom designed engines that they've been building for years, so I will blame BW for caving and using the FB3 engine. I will also blame them for stretching themselves too thin and keeping old gen on the line instead of just sticking to next gen when design problems came up, they even had to hold the game over an extra month to fix bugs that made the game not play at all when certain things came up.
Bioware has made small amends for the sheer amount they need to make up for.
I will not blame the old gen console players because yes, you deserve continued support and yes you should get to complete the adventure you've started whether you put in 20 hours or 200 hours. You also deserved to know when your support was going to be cut off long before now, and in a much better way than as a foot note to something else.
