Also, it's much to crass to go around calling people idiots.
Agreed. It's far more classy to imply it. Bonus points if they don't get it.
Let's be honest. If there's still a bug in the game that's not fixed yet, it's not going to be, and it never was going to be. Those bugs aren't going to be fixed on newer consoles either.
And if Bioware didn't care about it's older console players why the hell would they work so damn hard to make the game available to you?
Why didn't old gen get fixes before then? All other platforms got several fixes, but old gen didn't really have any other than cross-platform one's. There was also no marketing towards old gen people and no information to us from Bioware in terms of what they were going to and what not to fix on old gen. I have been running old gen thread over half year now, continuously asking devs to make official thread like PC folks had- no answer. Conal Pierce in his last post promised to look for ways to give information better to us so I don't have to dig it all over myself, but I haven't heard from him in months. I can only see this that we, old gen players, were completely abandoned after release and we only got fixes that all platforms got when many unique fixes that others got we didn't get. The game is still very buggy, laggy and there is problems that permit players from playing the game completely still, but Bioware has done nothing, no refunds, no communication and not even marketing before release.
We are just walking money bags for Bioware and EA at this point.

You can't fix something already broken past the point of repair.
The reason your game sucks on your platform is because your platform is using technology from a decade ago. It's obsolete. Sony is only offering support through the end of this year. Microsoft only till sometime in 2016.

If it was broken past repair since start Bioware shouldn't have released it. Selling broken product to customers they never intend to fix is not very ethical.
It doesn't really matter how old the technology is and so on, if the game is sold to certain technology it should be in good condition and made thinking of limits of that technology. Customer can't really know if the game will work or not better than people who did that and throughly tested it to platform.

I can't help but wonder what you expected? You knew the game would be substandard. You knew they wouldn't be able to give you the kind of detail, quality, and graphics the next gen games got. You knew all that before it came out. Before you bought it. I can't imagine you believed it would run perfectly on your console. You wouldn't run it on a ten year old PC, would you? And if you did, you knew it'd be on low quality, would overheat, and be buggy.
So you had to have known the game wouldn't be perfect on your old console, and you bought it anyway.
I get what you're saying, about them not releasing it to begin with, because I agree. I wish they hadn't had to change the whole game basically just to appease the last generation players. They should have never released it on last generation consoles because it held the game back. They could have spent twice as long making the game better and instead they spent twice as long having to dumb it down just so it'd run.
But they did. And my gut tells me it wasn't really their first choice and that offering it on all consoles was a forced decision by one of the suits. Backlash now, backlash then, or backlash later. Either way, BW can't catch a break from it's "fans".

Actually I didn't know that, because there was nothing released for old gen before actual release. No videos, trailers, pictures, nothing unlike every other system. Only thing we did got was statements from Bioware saying that the game fullfilled potential of the PS3 and XBOX360 and the experience would be same as in new gen although some things would be missing like less NPC's and not as detailed graphics. So actually I felt quite mislead by Bioware when we got buggy version of the game that crashes very often and generally crashes are very rare on consoles- at least on mine usually games don't crash at all or crash once in time I have played them.
I very much doubt fans were the decision here since we haven't been high priority even before release rather than something they see as money and then nuisance. Also the game was released on cross-gen period so it's not that suprising it was cross-gen game, many games that are released this year are cross-gen as well. So it's nothing weird. The way Bioware has treated some of their customers is unethical though and this DLC and patch drop is just one unfair thing BW has done to us with this release, nail in the coffin so to say.

Well then I expect you and the others will be shortly leaving this forum to find a game and fan-group/forum of a company that you think doesn't try to screw you over. Because you can talk and complain all you want but what's done is done and at this point, there's no going back. Only forward.

I think I'll stick around and keep complaining when it's due ![]()
There is ME:A around the corned after all.

I'm sorry, but that's just horse manure. The 7th generation of consoles is perfectly adequate for a game like Inquisition, if programmed competently, of course. You need to look no further than Rockstar's offerings for proof, culminating with GTA V (which I know personally is excellent on the 360). The choice (and it was choice) to release a substandard product on the 360 and PS3 is a financial one, not a technical one. It's the difference between lightning striking a barn and someone setting fire to it.
I bought my PS4 specifically because I knew that the game would not run as well on my PS3 as it would on a new gen.
I didn't buy the game for my pc because my PC just meet the minimum requirements for the game and didn't want to invest in any pc upgrades. I knew without upgrades, I would more than likely have a subpar experience.
If you want to talk about broken - talk about Skyrim on my PS3. Total waste of money! It froze so often and was so bugged that I couldn't play it. No support from Bethesda, no apologies - just patch after useless patch. I finally traded it in and bought it for PC. No one gave me a discount and I had to buy it for two systems - not because I wanted to.
I could say that Skyrim should never have been released to PS3 players because it was broken from day one - and they had to know that. Unethical??? Not so sure - I lost money for sure - and I had to suck it up. Again, Bethesda made apologies or announcements and they did not discount my next purchase. But I will sure think twice before buying another product from them (BTW finally played the game on my pc and found it ... meh)
I do feel bad for PS3 players - but this sort of stuff happens in the world. I really feel PS3 players took a gamble and it paid off only partially.
I'm not the one begging for a free or discounted game and complaining that they are trying to screw me out of money. I can afford to buy one twice. Actually, after vacation in October we're going to buy an additional Xbox one so that we (my husband and I) don't have to fight over the one we have.
Must be nice to have that kind of money to spend

As for why I'm here, well, I'm allowed an opinion and I'm allowed to state it. You guys are wasting your breath.

They aren't asking for a free game they are asking for one they already own.
As per my experience noted above, no one offered to give me my PC copy of the same game for free because I already owned a PS3 version. If I wanted to play Skyrim, I had to fork out another $60.00. I had to buy the same game twice - through no fault of my own. It sucked for sure but I certainly didn't expect Bethesda to give me a new game. So I get the anger and frustration, I just don't get the unethical and the get a free copy stuff.
If Sony or Microsoft want to give a discount then so be it. Bestbuy didnt want to give me a discount.

No, they don't already own it. It's a brand new copy for an entirely different platform.
What's more, the game is already heavily discounted through many places.
These are current xbox one prices.
Gamestop: $39.99
eBay: $29.99
Walmart: $34.58
Amazon: $22.43

Ah yes, those of us who don't like this decision should just pack up our stuff and go away. We shouldn't be allowed to express our opinions, only the people sucking up to Bioware should be allowed here.
Gotcha.
(also, your point about people being mad if Bioware didn't release DAI for old gen in the first place? ME:A is Xbone/PS4/PC only and there doesn't seem to be a ton of outrage about it, soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo yeah.)

A year after launch of a next-gen consoles vs even 2 years (which we are at now) is a pretty substantial difference in terms of player expectations.
Must be nice to have that kind of money to spend
Yes, well, we both work hard for the money that we spend. Nothing is handed to either of us. We work 12 hour days and 60 hour workweeks so we can have the nice things we want.

I'm not "sucking up" to Bioware, but if I wasn't going to play the game anymore, buy the game again, or ever give my money to the company in the future, I would have no need to stick around their fan forum.

"I'm not sucking up to Bioware" she says, whilst sucking up to Bioware.
And hey, guess what, your little whine about "BUT I HAVE OIPINIONS TOO OMGZ U GUYZ OMGZ STOP TELLING ME TO GO AWAYS OMGZ!"?
Yeah, that applies just as much to us as it does to you. When you have your own forums, you can ban any dissent you want to make your own little fascist paradise. But these aren't your forums. So I'll stick around til I get bored or I get banned. Pretty much out of spite, at this point. Pretty much because you want me to leave.

I wonder if Bethesda eventually fixed Skyrim on PS3 or am I just incredibly lucky. I can't remember having even one crash with it nor really other bugs, it runs as well as Skyrim on my PC that I bought from steam summer sales, DLC's are cheaper that way
Found thread where people were talking in 2013 how it was finally fixed so no it doesn't seem like Bethesda did same as Bioware here, they released buggy and broken game, but eventually got it working after patches. Bioware isn't even trying, they really haven't been trying since release and now they are just stopping all patches and abandoning players completely.

So we have here Bioware's employee finally addressing old gen thread. I wonder what's Bioware's stance on dropping all DLC's and patches on PS3 and XBOX360's and it's ethicality, since at least apology would have been players expectation to get.
