I wonder how many people putting down last gen users would feel the same if their platform had all support cut off
Well I can't speak for everyone, but for myself, I'd buy the game for whatever platform they do support.
Because I *gasp* like the game. A lot.

You can't fix something already broken past the point of repair.
The reason your game sucks on your platform is because your platform is using technology from a decade ago. It's obsolete. Sony is only offering support through the end of this year. Microsoft only till sometime in 2016.

I'm sorry, but there's a difference between "old hardware" and "a real, tangible lack of effort" and some of us are actually intelligent to know the difference.
You don't even have to go that far to look. The potato people in the bridge scene when Cass is walking you across in the first five minutes of the game. The Inquisition reveal scene where the banner unfurls. Something as simple as textures not loading in a cutscene - Bioware can't be bothered to fix. Eight months on, however many patches, and it's still there.
The game is rife with things like this. I get there are some things - a lot of things - that can't work on the hardware. That's fine. But you can't just go "but, but hardware" to legitimate flaws that are more a clear sign of lack of effort than "well, the hardware can't handle it". I wasn't expecting a port on the level of Witcher 2's 360 version, but what we got was one of the worst efforts I've seen in quite some time.

I'm trying to figure out why you're trying to insinuate that I lack intelligence just because I disagree.

If you were smarter you'd get it. (Kidding. I couldn't resist.)
So if you bought a CD and used it with your iPhone, when you bought an iPad would you buy a second copy of the CD?

It definitely seems like their streaming performance could have been better (especially in cutscenes—from the frequent hitching to the 30fps cap, this is one module BioWare added to the engine that still needs a ton of work). You don't even have to go that far to look. But there are all kinds of issues on every platform, many of which BioWare has never (and will never) addressed. The game works, even if some parts of it can be fairly janky.
BioWare releasing Patch 9 next week with almost entirely nothing but multiplayer changes doesn't improve the PC, PS4, or Xbone version of the game any more than the nonexistent patch for the PS3 and 360 (unless you're playing multiplayer; but then, there are other forums to discuss that).

Personally, I wouldn't care at all. I was never promised DLC when I purchased the game. Nor was I promised ongoing patch support. I was promised a game that works. And that's what we all got, for all intents and purposes. Is it a perfect game? No. Are there still bugs and such? Yep. But Bioware has never been great at patching. There are still bugs and glitches in pretty much all of their games. Only time will tell, but I doubt Bioware is going to patch much else going forward anyway, barring MP stuff and issues with future DLC that last gen users aren't getting anyway.

Well working condition of game can be somewhat up to debate and DAI is quite in borderline with that on old gen consoles. I wonder how many crashes and freezes do make game unplayable or does working condition mean that it only needs to spin in console..

You aren't screwed out of your money. You paid $60 for the base game of Dragon Age Inquisition on your console choice. That's where the $60 went. And you liked it enough that you played it, and you apparently liked it enough that you'd be interested in buying DLC, so I'm fairly certain you got your money's worth.
Listen, for everyone who paints those of us who aren't inclined to feel sorry for those of you who can't experience the DLC on their old console- I'm not without some pity. I love Dragon Age and I'd want to continue playing and would be sad if I couldn't. But if I was in your position I'd just do what I should have done to begin with and get a new console and game. I'd finally play it the way it was meant to be played and I'd enjoy it. If things don't go my way I don't dig my heels in the ground, cross my arms, and pout like a five year old. I shake it off, change what I need to change, and move on with my life.
And with that, I'm going to leave you guys to your bickering and whining about how Bioware hates you. When you resort to personal attacks there's nothing more to be said.
I never personally attacked you. Being snarky is not an attack.
Bickering and pouting like a five year old, huh. That is name calling. I have medical bills to pay. Gee, thanks. I cannot afford a new console, online and a new game. It would be irresponsible of me to drop money for gaming right now. If you would like to purchase all three for me, I'd be grateful. Seriously. You and many others seem to not be aware that many of us on old gen don't have the cash now for an upgrade. Bioware should have never released it on the old gen. I would have waited to buy, even if it would be another year or so. I'll not throw good money after bad and I will voice complaint as long as Bioware allows comment. Too bad if you don't like it.

Can everyone stop using the cd / tape logic, its flawed beyond belief.
In the UK it IS against the law to make any copies of tapes / CD's for personal use, you need to to buy a new version of the same song on every new device.
its down to the company, if you don't like it, be sensible, vote with your wallet. are PC users meant to cry and feel entitled to a free version of Windows 7 / 8 because XP is out of scope.
old hardware stops progression, what's the point of having something new and better if your going to stick with old that holds progression back. the DLC is made for newer gen consoles because the RAM and processor / GPU prob couldn't handle the size of it.

So your logic is any better? I think not. What you are suggesting is the equivalent of them saying they bought DAO so they should get DA2 and DAI for free, Noone is saying that.
I don't know about the rules in UK but here in Canada, and the US as well, if you buy something in ITunes you can copy it to whatever device you want that also uses ITunes. Can you imagine if Apple made you buy all apps and songs over again each time they issued a new version of iPad or iPhone?
On PC through Origin (GOG, Steam) I can install the game on several machines. M$ and Sony have done a good job convincing the world they have to buy the same crap over again every time they produce a new version of the hardware. No wonder Biowares focus is on consoles. More sales enforced by the console makers.
I feel bad for the last geners. Hopefully this motivates them to join the Glorious PC Gamer Master Race. ![]()

Out of curiosity, is anyone not affected by the last gen drop but still against it planning to skip buying the next DLC?
You know, I did not like the whole JoH Xbone exclusive for a month thing. I still bought it for my Xbone. Then I heard about Destiny and Sony releasing year long PS4 exclusive content for the game. I don't play Destiny, but I did not like that either.
Forget the dlc, now I'm learning that the old gens have not been properly supported with patches. It's not just BW/EA. It's the console makers warring with each other and the gamers being collateral damage, the publishers-releasing launch day bugginess for my pre-order, and then relying on patches for what should have been in better working condition from the beginning.
I don't like what these game makers are doing. So, while my decision not to purchase this dlc is not solely because of them dropping old gen. It does tilt the scales.

But that'd just business. I work for a newspaper and our goal is to sell more ads, more copies, have better content, more subscriptions, more money...
Any business has a job to provide a service and to make money. The only thing you can actually do besides complain on here (which does nothing), is not buy the products.
I mean literally that's it.

I feel pretty bad for the people who got dropped, but I also say it's about time. The last generation is no longer current, that's why we call it the last generation. Bioware can finally focus resources on building a solid piece rather than spreading their people out.
But that's just what I think.
Edit: I just learned about the save exporter. Bioware is attempting to make this an easy transition. Props to them. They built the bridge, and the other side, now it's up to you to pay the unfortunate toll.
Edit2: Inquisition is STILL on sale on Origin for any of you go-getters out there.

I don't even feel bad. That BW made this game work on ancient technology was a gift, one we all sacrificed for. Enough already.
