I'm currently working my way through the SMG challenge again (completed 9 times), and was stunned to see I've never actually completed SMG medals even after roughly 3300 games and 1260 hours!

Now I know I've not completed any challenges that include platinum waves, nor most of the volus challenges because I just don't play them, but just wondering what challenges you guys have yet to complete that you're surprised by?

The one challange I will never do is the Talon Merc 200 Waves, I have 10 Waves with him and that number will never grow larger.

I thought I completed all but I recently found out that there is one I haven't - Talon Merc extractions, which currently stands at 9/10.

 

I have completed 200 waves with that character though.

I'm actually in the process of trying to complete all the challenges at least once, because bored and obviously a masochist. I think the most painful ones left to complete will be the Hex Shield use (not that fond of the Jugs), Geth Plasma SMG and Katana challenges. I was surprised to find that I only have 185 waves with the Salarian Engie, because I love Salarians. FBWGG must have put me off him for a while without me realizing it. Remedying that now.

The voluses aren't so bad

 

The Volus Merc is a great kit for platinum and the Volus engineer is excellent.

 

The Vanguard is difficult to play on platinum and the Adept is kind of mediocre. sure he have stasis but those orbs should do way more damage to make him more viable, I understand why so few play him.

Pretty much everything you can't complete by playing quarians. Tech Mastery is the exception that I managed to do like once because of the alt banner.

Of course, I'm getting close to 30 Machine Masteries so I don't care.

I will eventually do whatever Volus waves aren't done (I know the Engineer & Adept are done) because I like them. The Talon Merc never gets used, he's butt.

A lot of common and uncommon weapon challenges. Most characters are done except Volus vanguard, salarian engineer, vorcha Hunter, saboteur, and drellgod, and asari vanguard (because challenges didn't exist until after I got my fill of her).

Katana on AIU is easy, GPSMG on Destroyer so you don't get staggered out of shooting, and the hex shield...well, just spend a couple games trolling your friends

Thanks for the tips, will try what you suggested. Not sure I could troll the Hex Shield as well as you do, though. You've truly mastered placing that thing in the worst possible place and at the worst time imaginable for maximum teammate aggro. It's a talent, really.

He's got a lot of experience with the Juggernaut.

Pretty much this.  The problem I have with the challenges is that most of them aren't really "challenging", but rather ****ing tedious, lol.

 

It would be nice if the challenges were actually challenging (i.e. requiring some amount of skill).  One way to do this would be to change the challenge criteria to things that can be accomplished in a single match.  For instance, instead of having to score 80000 points with submission net, how about capture 50 enemies with submission net in a single game.  Or how about score 100 headshots in a single game - that would be challenging, lol.

Currently at 155/200 on Xbox. Most of those waves came near the end of my time on XBox. I'm primarily playing on PC now. Can we still speak?

I recently got all the Volus stuff done, had about 600 waves to do with them and somehow managed! I hated them before but they kinda grew on me in the process.

 

About 400 with three kinds of Vorcha left and about 50 with the Turian Saboteur. (Wtf, right? Yeah well, dunno & on it).
