I know there was a GW2 thread, but it hasn't been active since last year and knowing the mods they'd lock it for necro.

 

And speaking of necromancy, that is my main toon on GW2. Human necromancer who is named Stannís Baratheon.

 

 

I also have two other toons; Norn warrior, Like A Bronn and Char thief, Lord Coolthulu.

 

 

I typically don't like MMOs, I've played some and it's either the community is shite or the game isn't what I'm looking for. So far, GW2 has proven to be pretty good with both imo. Plus once you buy it, you have it. None of that f*ckin paid monthly bs.

 

Talk about the game, share GW2 names, toons, personal screenshots, photos, gifs, videos, updates, beast weapons for what class, favorite species, etc.

 

I haven't been playing GW2 for that long really, this Aug it'll mark one year. I used to play the first GW a while back and never got around to GW2 until it went on sale and someone bought it for me forever later.

 

When I play with people in a party, it's usually current and old BSNers that I also have on Steam. That way we can all group vc while we game, better to coordinate.

Heard a lot of good things about it, seen a bit online of its gameplay. I prefer to stray away from MMOs for a few reasons, but GW's a good choice of game anywho. I'd probably go Necro too, Warlock and Shadow Priests were my jam back in the WoW days. Doubt my laptop could handle the game, though.

I've played a little bit of it. I got my green person (I don't remember the race name) thief up to like 30 or so and for what ever reason deleted him. Then I switched to Asura Engineer (it think it was engi) and got him to like 10 or 12. But I sort of quit playing GW2 when my WoW guild started getting into progression raiding again. I liked the questing presentation and the fact that I don't have to back track. PvP always interested me and I liked that you could basically hop in whenever you wanted. I liked it for what little I was able to play, but haven't really gone back to it.

Wish they would do something with the PvE, if that's even possible at this point. Think Anet basically abandoned the concept of dungeons, so I can never get into GW2 for more than a month or two at a time.

I've been meaning to try this game out, especially since there is no subscription fee. I'll have to keep an eye out.

Nope, my guild decided to come back a few months ago so I started playing again too.

 

Wish they would do something with the PvE, if that's even possible at this point. Think Anet basically abandoned the concept of dungeons, so I can never get into GW2 for more than a month or two at a time.

 

Well ya, people complained that they were too hard so Anet did what it always does and nerfed them into the ground.

Recently got back into it, they rebuilt Lion's Arch, it looks kinda nice.



I'm not particularly big on MMOs, so this is the only one I've gotten into because I dislike the P2W ethos of most F2P MMOs and I'm not ever going to pay for a subscription MMO. I'm skeptical about GW2's end-game content (in that, it doesn't seem to have any) and it's not like they set up open PvP so I really can't imagine this being a game I can ever play seriously without a few friends to hang out with. But it's a very comfy game for some exploration and questing for a couple of hours per session.

Well, the open world PvP is more World versus World, but that was more of a gimmick on their part. They didn't expect people to play it seriously, and instead focused on structured pvp. 

 

I dislike the redesign of Lion's Arch.

 

Also, I added you and Johhnie so now I can complain about my death in game (and mock you both for your horrible character fashion as well).

I find it really hard to play GW2 these days. WvW has become repetitive, I've finished the Personal Story, and the Living Story is garbage.

Arenanet also adamantly refuses to make engineer viable without kits. That's a problem for me, since I picked engineer for turrets and gadgets. The former got nerfed from useless to beyond useless in a recent update. The latter is fun (especially rocket boots) but not especially powerful.

Waiting to get a better idea on the amount and quality of the content in the expansion before I commit to getting it.

At 50$, it's more than I've paid for a full PC game in years. Even The Witcher 3 didn't cost me that much. And Hot is just an expansion.
